Post Mission Party At The Bar

Its time to unwind, relax and receive news of home. A pod pop occurred while some were on a mission and it's time to meet up with new friends, drink well with old, and relax. The Drunken Dragon has opened its doors and stands ready and willing to assist in forgetting the trials those on the mission experienced.

OOC: If you want a specific barmaid, just put their name in the subject. Otherwise, enjoy, intermingle and do as you like.

Daniel hadn't known Jr. had worked security, but he wasn't surprised to find out he did. Jr's conduct on Galillee had been admirable. The job description make sense, despite his young appearance. Despite being angered by the branding, he'd shown an incredible amount of professionalism and had done the job, even when he'd had to pretend he was the Galillee definition of a clone. Daniel hoped he'd never have to do that again.

"Are you swamped with a backload?" Daniel asked. Missing just one day of work was bad enough. He could imagine the workload of several missed days, which only got worse when the on-time work showed up. It was a never-ending cycle.

Daniel was still trying to find some niche he could be helpful in on the ship. He'd dug in, quickly, back at the SGC, but part of that had been a desperation to make sure he could get into a field unit before they buried him in an office. Here, he was still feeling around.

"I'm still studying the XaXingian culture. Then there's what we know of the Time Dragons and this-" he indicated the packet.

"Not too big of one, thankfully. It's only been a few days at least, since we left. But, you know. Keeping on top of things. I just wish sometimes the security part of ... security dealt more with things on the ship we don't expect than the people who are on it and know why they're on it." Universes were at stake here, Jr. wondered how people could still just argue and fight and need intervention and brig-time and anything like that instead of just putting it aside and working together. "But I guess with so many different people, it's bound to happen, even here."

Jr. peered at the packet, and his face fell slightly. "Oh," he said, somewhat dryly. "Not a bad endeavor, I guess. We might come back to these places someday."

"It could be much worse considering all the different personalities," he agreed. Zetta and Kang hadn't exactly been at their best during one of the meetings, which was understandable in Kang's case, but the fight that nearly broke out had no place on a diplomatic mission. He didn't want the entire crew to be mindless automatons or anything, and certainly not to agree to everything like some hive mind, but this mission had made it clear that they'd nearly failed as a whole at functioning as a group. It had nearly cost them. They didn't have much of a choice being here either, at least, not right now.

This was sounding really familiar. What would Jack say if he heard him? 'Now you know how I feel when I'm dealing with you?' Great, he had an inner Jack O'Neill. Daniel hadn't been much of a team player to begin with, and he still struggled with the concept now, but apparently some part of the Colonel was sinking in after these months, because it was enough for Daniel to take a good, long hard look at the last mission.

Daniel didn't envy Jr. at all. It sounded like a huge job, and worse, this place looked like it was bigger than Cheyenne Mountain, by far. He got the feeling that they didn't have nearly the number of staff required to keep up with the size. And they had all kinds of people here, if Luthor, Eva and the Doctor stood as different extremes on the spectrum. For the most part, the SGC heavily screened people coming in. Who knew how Stacy handled who she brought onboard.

He caught the look of distaste that crossed Jr's face. "Yeah. Or somewhere with a similar caste system. If we can learn something from this experience, maybe we can handle the next time differently."
