Post Mission Party At The Bar

Its time to unwind, relax and receive news of home. A pod pop occurred while some were on a mission and it's time to meet up with new friends, drink well with old, and relax.The Drunken Dragon has opened its doors and stands ready and willing to assist in forgetting the trials those on the mission experienced.

OOC: If you want a specific barmaid, just put their name in the subject. Otherwise, enjoy, intermingle and do as you like.

Nanaki had no idea why he decided to come here. Especially with so many people that seemed to be inside. But he was young, and he was curious, so when his ears caught sound of others in the distance, he had changed the path he was taking through the city to curiously go check it out.

He understood the reason for things like bars, but they were never anything that appealed to him. Maybe on rare occasion he would have a drink of some fancy or rare beverage from the canyon, but that was it.

He wondered why so many people were in there, but he didn't make a move to actually enter, sitting just outside and looking up to the window and through the door hesitantly.

Zouichi spotted Nanaki outside the tavern, and gave him a brief wave. "Hey. Were you part of the latest pod release?"

One amber eye looked over to Zouichi, and Nanaki gave him a small nod in greeting in return (since, you know, paws, waving). "Yes, I was."

Was he that obvious? Or maybe it was because there weren't any others like him on the ship. He did tend to stand out like that often.

"I kind of figured. I do a lot of wandering around, so I can usually tell new crew members from old ones. Are you settling in all right? It's kind of a shock, learning that your world was destroyed and all."

He glanced at the bar. Did Nanaki want to go in, or had he merely been watching?

"I am," he replied thoughtfully, smallest hint of sadness in his voice. "It was a pretty big shock. But ... there were others who have told me that we may be able to restore and return our homes, if we're successful. So I'll help everybody."

It's okay, Zouichi, Nanaki didn't know if he wanted to go in or not, either.

He nodded. "That's the story." Whether it was true or not, well. That was anyone's guess. Especially considering what had happened on-mission.

"I'm Zouichi, by the way. Out here, I help out with security and the occasional spaceflight mission. Nice to meet you."

"I am Nanaki." He gave Zouichi another nod for the introduction. "Why is there a need for security on this ship?"

"You'd be surprised how many threats this ship apparently has locked down somewhere. The other day it was flesh-eating mutants. Before that, an interstellar criminal. I hear the last crew had an eldritch abomination or two lurking about."

He looked thoughtful. "And there are troublemakers on the ship, or people who wake up from the pods confused, and start attacking."

A stagnant silence before Nanaki spoke again. "Is this ship really here to help us?"

That was all he could think so say. It seemed simple enough. He remembered Stacy's voice sounding kind and caring ... but if it did things like that, was it really what it told everybody it was?

"That's a good question," Zouichi said. "And I believe the answer is that we don't really know. At least judging from Aibghalien's message on the subject -- he was unable to cast that informational spell on the ship without triggering its 'defense' systems."

He glanced at Nanaki. "I suppose it's helping us for now. What its true objective is, and what our hosts hope to accomplish is kind of up for debate. That's my opinion, anyway."

"Informational spell?" He wondered how many others could use things like magic. And how many of them could do so without the use of Materia.

"So there may be a time where we will have to part with this ship..." he said, to himself, mostly, but loud enough for Zouichi to hear. Nanaki himself knew that he wouldn't want to do what he was told if he didn't think it was right. "I'll remember that. Thank you."

"Yes. I don't really know much of the specifics, so if you want to know more, you'll have to ask him, but... as I understand it, it was designed to determine whether what we've been told about the ship was true."

He nodded. "No problem. So what are you doing out here?"

"Oh. That makes sense, then." And it left him skeptical, to be honest. If there was truth in the words, why would there be a need to hide it?

"I heard a lot of people talking over here, so ... I decided to come see what they were doing." Simple curiosity. "Is it some sort of party?"

"A party?" Zouichi blinked. "Well, I guess it's possible, especially after what happened during the last mission. I'm not really one for celebrations like that, though."

Nanaki heard buzz about whatever this mission was.

"What happened?"
