You can not leave the magic... [Open]

The Jedi Temple.

He really needed to propose the Magic Department move to the Tower of High Sorcery. It really made a lot more sense, didn't it?

Oh well.

An illusory sign out front said "Welcome New Applicants", along with a magic mouth that welcomed them and gave brief instructions to the office he had reluctantly claimed after deciding that no one would ever manage to properly find their way to his actual wizard's lab. Thus, behind a desk, he sat scribing a scroll and awaiting potential new members to the department's ranks.

"Indeed? Well we certainly have at least one perfectly good wizard right here," she replied with a grin across to him, "The greater the diversity the more options we have in ways to deal with such things, and a greater potential to learn more about all of the individual abilities of the crew,"

She nodded thoughtfully and leaned back in her chosen chair, "Those with magi that is able to be taught, could perhaps teach the basics of their arts to those who may wish to learn?" She offered as an idea.

"Most of the magical knowledge I'm aware of on this ship has an inherent, innate component to it," he said, frowning. "In other words, you must be born with the gift to use the power, no matter what form it takes. Conducting a survey to see if anyone besides myself has a teachable form of magic seems like a good idea, but I don't have explicit departmental authority, yet. I really need to get Nanoha to give me some official power to get things done, before she gets married."

"It would seem a good portion of it is at the very least, there is bound to be some though that is teachable," She dipped her head, "Something to ask when she gets back, should their mission not turn too badly," she hadn't missed the comm post that had gone out from planetside would have been hard to miss it.

"That does remind me though, I would be interested in looking into your own magic myself, see what can be applied easily, such as perhaps learning the form of the wall of force I believe it was," she commented with a smile across to him.

"That, my dear, I would be happy to devote some time working with you on!" Any hints of weariness fell away at the prospect, replaced by a sincere smile that could only come from combining his first love with his female one. "If you can duplicate it precisely, it would be amazingly useful."

"Perhaps once things quiet down after the recent pod-release? I wouldn't wish to keep you too busy right away after all," she chuckles and smiles warmly as she reaches over and places a hand lightly on one of his arms, "I have little doubt of that, and you know I would be more than happy to learn anything you are willing to teach,"

"Time spent with you, or in magical experimentation, doesn't count as work. Putting both together and I might as well be on vacation!" He turned his own hand palm up, sliding it back to catch hers. "To be honest, I could probably make a competent wizard out of you very quickly..."

"A vacation I would gladly share with you," she replies with a warm smile as she gives his hand a gentle squeeze, "With as skilled a teacher as yourself, I've little doubt, anything you have to teach I would be more than willing to learn,"

Aibghalien laughed, all weariness dispelled. "Be careful with saying things like that! I might actually take you up on it. Then you'll surpass me and I'll find myself in constant self-doubt and confusion!"

Celena laughed happily along with him, squeezing his hand once more, "I could hardly surpass such knowledge and talent you have in your own fields my dear," She replied with a shake of her head before leaning across to give him a gentle kiss.

He returned it through a smile. Around her he'd gotten quite good at doing that, though. "You're smart, curious, inquisitive. You could easily. Not that I'm necessarily encouraging you to do so, just saying you could."

She chuckled and gave another gentle peck to his lips through a warm smile of her own, "I'm not going to put you out of a job anytime soon dear, after all you do it so well," She replied even as she gave a gentle squeeze to his hand.

"Have you many projects in mind of your own recently after your spellcasting?"

"Depends on --" Impulsively, he reached out, hooked an arm around her waist, and pulled him down into his lap.

"That's better. Depends on how much authority I can wrangle out of Nanoha. If I'm lucky I'll get enough to do the survey of powers she suggested way back when I first joined the department."

Celena couldn't help but chuckle softly as as she's pulled into his lap, not resisting in the least as she drapes an arm around his shoulders. "Mhm,"

"Indeed? A survey of powers, at least for those in the department would be quite useful in knowing just what we have available to work with,"

"Exactly, and it would help to..." It's evident he'd become slightly distracted by her presence, wasn't it? He smiled at her, forcing his mind back on track. "Help to determine what we could be doing to improve life on the ship. It feels like we have a group very heavily weighted towards pure destruction, but I know at least some of us have some more mundane spells at our behest."

Celena can't help but notice his distraction with a soft grin, "Knowing as much will help greatly to such a degree I have little doubt, indeed though, I've little doubt there are a number of those who are capable of other magics or have abilities that could help in any number of ways," She gives a peck to his cheek.

"I've no doubt, but you have to admit that attack magic is a decidedly popular talent..." He grinned up at her, for reasons entirely unrelated to the discussion at hand.

"Very much so, though pure destructive magic tends not to be the most..subtle of things," she chuckles at that, grinning down to him all the while, "Once you're done here with the new arrivals, perhaps you should come by my abode to relax a bit,"

"I think I'll take you up on that offer." As if there was any doubt. Suggestions like that never took much effort to sell to him. "Having you around actually makes me want to relax and enjoy myself outside of a spell lab every so often. It's an unusual feeling."

"I'll look forward to it then," Of course there wasn't, she chuckled softly with amusement at his reply, "Everyone needs to relax and get out at some point, spell lab or no,"

"Would you believe I actually get more relaxation here on this ship than I did back at home?" In no small part due to her and the actual desire to spend time with her, of course.

"I could believe that, strange as it may be," she replied with a chuckle giving a kiss to his cheek, after all back home he had a kingdom to rule and no one to stop him spending all his time working. "I shan't keep you much longer here, in case any more applicants come by, I'll see you back at my abode when you're finished though,"

"I'm not too worried about other people showing up." He arched his eyebrows slyly. "There's always illusions, you know." Her sitting in his lap had rather thoroughly captured his attention, it seemed.

Celena couldn't help the mischievous grin growing on her features, "You have a point there," she replies even as she focus her energies to summon up a small illusion about them as she leaned to plant another playful kiss.

Did she really think, under the cover of an illusion, that the kiss would stay playful? She ought to know better by now!

Oh she had no intention to have that kiss remain playful, with the cover of the illusion they could do near anything without risk of discovery after all.
