Aw hell, it's about time. [Open!]
Down the street and around one of the many corners of the city, stands a large building. Four floors worth to be exact, of what could have been a warehouse, or an office building of sorts. Now however, the windows are tinted, and there’s a big neon sign up front with the words “Hunter’s Pad”. The black double doors of this building are never locked, for the owner of the place wants anyone who wishes to come and enjoy themselves at any time. Agent 779, code name Splicer, has been hard at work, making a place that people can come and hang out at.
The place works as both a club, and an arcade, so anyone of any age group can just come to relax and enjoy themselves. Granted the place only has water, it was meant as a hangout spot for those who wanted somewhere else to relax aside from the options already available to them on the ship.
The fourth floor is reserved for his home, where he can be reached easily through the comm. system if you ever need him for anything. The third floor holds the Arcade, where he hooked up and fixed many of the machines that he could get his hands on and uploaded his vast collection of games unto different styles of arcade style machines including but not limited to driving/flying sims, shooters, fighters, rpg’s, fps’, survival etc. The second floor was made into a lounge of sorts. Couches he brought up with some help and tables set in a comfortable black and blue futuristic space style. It’s meant for mingling or to just kick back for a few.
The first floor is where the magic happens, a dance floor large enough for a large party and a DJ booth where he usually throws some electronic beats but is not opposed to getting requests for specific styles of music. The music never stops, whether he’s at the booth or not. Why limit people’s fun when he’s sleeping? There’s monitoring and an automated system on the booth for when he’s not around as well as a security system.
The basement has a game area of sorts as well as the supply room where he tries to keep things stocked. The items usually kept there are extra water, snacks (which are used sparingly between shore leaves), as well as normal establishment supplies like napkins, table cloths, holiday decorations and other miscellaneous items.
Anyone’s welcome to crash if they need to, and anyone’s welcome to have a good time at Hunter’s Pad!
[[OOC: Feel free to make a post or join the subthreads/locations and from now on you can use the place to start your own threads or meet people or plan parties!]]

With gifted shades resting on his head, he poked his head inside the arcade and looked around before cautiously walking inside.

The man came from around one corner where he was setting up another booth. He wiped his hands clean with a cloth and walked over to the elf. "Take it you came to check the place out and stuff?"
no subject
He turned to face Splicer, a toothy grin on his face. "That being said, I am good. And you? I do not see you around much, granted that I spend much time in the city. It is why I ended up here--it looked interesting."
no subject
He gave him a once over and a pat on the shoulder, "I've been good. Been working on this place as much as I could, which is why you haven't seen me much."
no subject
He timidly looked around the blinking, bright room, a slight look of wonderment slowly spreading over his oval face. He looked back at Splicer and smiled. "I see. Despite the time I spend in the city, I did not know. What is it you call this room of lights and sound?"
no subject
He looked back, following Nokosi's gaze and smiling at the question and his expression.
"It's an arcade. An entertainment center of sorts. Each booth has a video game, each with it's own unique controls and style. They're all free to try, since I made it for everyone's enjoyment. Normal arcades would charge per play back in my world."
no subject
"What is an R-cay-d and what does it have to do with vid-e-o?"
no subject
He patted him on the back and led him to one of the booths nearby, "Here, it's better if I show you than try to explain it."
Taking the gun controller from the machine, he started it up. "You said you're a hunter right? So this should be right up your alley. This gun, isn't real, it's just the controller for the game, but it works just like a real gun would, except it doesn't shoot real ammo. You aim it at the enemies that come on the screen and shoot at them. The more you shoot, the higher your score, the higher the score, the more rewards you get and at the end you get to put your name as the current champion of the game. Then people try to break your score."
He made sure to demonstrate, playing a few stages and explaining what was on the screen. From mission points like who to rescue, to targets, powerups, ammo and how to reload, and then the high score screen and lives.
"Every game in the arcade is different, so they'll have different controls and instructions as well as the goal of the game. But mainly they're seperated into genres. This particular one is a FPS, or First Person Shooter. Which comes from the way the game plays, as if you were the character inside the story. There's also driving games, flying, rpg's which are roleplaying games, fighter games, shooters, sports... Well there's a wide variety of games of all types for all tastes." He said with a big grin, you could easily tell it was something he was passionate about.

He supposed it was like those who trained using the weapons, but shooting at things 'just for fun' didn't seem like something many people would do. Being a 'champion' of the music and picture box did have some appeal even though it didn't really mean anything.
Nokosi tentatively picked up the gun for the game and held it up. He pointed it at himself and clicked the trigger a few times before looking up to Splicer. "So it only shoots things in the game, correct? This gun is very small, though."
no subject
"Go on, try it. It's pretty fun."
no subject
Nokosi stared at the screen before him and simply waited for something to happen. Why wasn't the game starting, anyways?
no subject
Soon enough, the game started retelling the premise. A zombie game, a descendant of the House of the Dead games.
no subject
He raised the gun to the screen and played with it a bit as the story was being told. He'd never shot something so small before. It was more than a bit odd. Still, he told him it was a game of shooting, right? It only meant he needed to aim...and pull the trigger; the former being something he was good at.
"Okay!"
no subject
He gave him pointers, pointed out secrets and then smiled as he let Nokosi take it all by himself, eying curiously at his stance and checking how much he was enjoying himself.
no subject
Furthermore, he didn't pull the trigger multiple times to ensure that if he missed he could hit with another shot. No, he shot just enough bullets to kill them--no more than three and then he moved along. It meant that if he missed even one shot he wouldn't get the kill, but he hardly seemed worried about that.
no subject
He smiled, patting him on the shoulder with an approving nod, "Keep going buddy, you're doing awesome."

He grabbed the second handgun and pressed the 'second player' button. Soon enough, a second, different colored sight appeared on the screen and soon enough he was joining in the fight. The game was adjusted to increase difficulty substantially to accommodate two players. So more zombies and monsters for everyone!
no subject
With them both at the helm he found he could focus even more because there was someone there to watch his back; much like Fontaine usually did. Now that he had a partner he was very vocal about both the game, their skills and the endless stream of zombies that poured out from every crevice.
This 'video game' thing was pretty great.
no subject
He smiled and continued on the game making sure they'd get the best score possible!
no subject
So excite!
"Will you play those games with me as well?" No, he had no concept of what that whole 'taking too much of someone's time' was.
"I would assist you in your work but unfortunately I know very little about complex mechanisms. That is more Ronnae's forte."
no subject
"Sure, whenever I'm free, I don't mind going a few rounds with ya. I actually enjoy gaming very much. It'd be pretty cool actually."
