Welcome To The First Tree Cafe!

After typing up her message, Sasami sat back at her little counter and waited to see who would come up to see her and have a meal or two.

Between finding out that most of the stuff in her restaurant wasn't useful, the attack by KAIN and the subsequent reveal of her true self and the slight relaxation moment after getting everything on XaXing, Sasami hadn't had the time to open up her shop. Now, after all that time, Sasami finally had a moment to finish up and open up the newly-christened First Tree Cafe. If anything, she wanted a place to show off her cooking skills and give some of the crew some good meals here and there. Hopefully, those who aided her recently would come back to keep helping her.

As of now, all Sasami could do is sit and wait...

Well, now, what was this?

Midna floated her way right in, settling near the counter. "Hey! See you got things set up!"

"Eee hee hee. Not bad." She looked around with great interest at the cafe's setup.

"So, what's on the menu, anyway?"

"And here I was wondering about where a guy could get some real food."

Tapping a foot on the ground, Snow looked around the tiny shop. Cute and comfortable, he liked the atmosphere.

Midna cackled. "Too bad, blondie, I got here first."

She should have figured Snow would show up, though.

As irritating as she would have liked to pretend it was, Mindy liked cooking. There was no mom in the picture, so Mindy had taken care of her father's meals, particularly when he was busy crafting their agendas for running down D'amico's latest plans. So without warning, Sasami now found herself with a very frowny looking Mindy in pig tails, shorts, a dark blue short sleeved shirt and an apron. It was obvious Mindy had been working out recently too: her arms looked a bit more toned and her body fit as ever, scars non withstanding.

"All right, I said I'd do this," Mindy said, trying to sound casual. "What can I help you with, Princess?"

[identity profile] hit-girl-mindy.livejournal.com 2011-05-01 03:27 am (UTC)(link)
"Yeah I know its weird," Mindy said, casting her a look, "But its not like I have anything better to do, The Overlord is doing that retarded ass Council crap and I can't find Ruff, and I'm sick of doing nothing but training. I figure I can at least help cook."

She nodded. "Yeah, of course. What did you have in mind?"

Snow was clearly a miracle worker. Make a post on the omnicomms about making some real food on this ship and viola! Suddenly something pops up! It wasn't like Snow was a seasoned veteran of the crew or anything and had any idea somebody was planning something like this. Regardless, he was happy to hear about it.

The (very) tall blond, who had wandered and took in some sights along the way (because he was still getting used to the city as well), finally found the place. He poked his head in slowly to see if anybody else was in there.

"Hey, I think I found it!"

[identity profile] coldhardfisting.livejournal.com 2011-05-01 08:13 pm (UTC)(link)
"Yo," he greeted with a cheerful wave to her. "You're the girl who set up this whole thing, right?"

[identity profile] bears-omnitrix.livejournal.com 2011-05-01 07:27 pm (UTC)(link)
"Wow, this is a pretty nice place," said Ben, walking in after parking the car in the front of the building and walking in. "Hey Sasami!"

[identity profile] bears-omnitrix.livejournal.com 2011-05-01 08:06 pm (UTC)(link)
"Yeah it's a good effort," said Ben, sitting down at the closest table to the kitchen counter so he could talk to Sasami. "What do you suggest by the way?"

Devlin walked into the cafe, with the little Pisciss alien (http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b100/Akino_Annwyn/Icons/Trans%209/Ben10UltimateAlien-113-DeepC_P_0001.jpg) he'd picked up on XaXhing hopping around his ankles.

"Sasami? I need a little help," he said. "Any idea what to feed this guy besides peanut butter and jelly?"

This was Devlin's first pet, and he was a little overwhelmed by the responsibility. And the fact that he had no idea what amphibious little aliens from Pisciss ate other than "whatever tastes good." Given that Devlin was twelve and all the cooking skills he had were "peanut butter and jelly sandwiches," that had become a problem fast.

"He's been eating so many of them that Negi's been calling him Pudge," he said. "At least, I think that's why he calls him that. But you've got Ryo-Ohki. What do you do?"

[identity profile] farfrom-tree.livejournal.com 2011-05-02 12:44 am (UTC)(link)
"I don't know," Devlin admitted. "And it's an alien fish too--or at least, something like a fish." The fact that it was hopping around on dry land and making adorable squeaking noises at them meant it was hard to think of it as a fish in normal, Earth terms.

"I tried the mess hall slop, but unless it tasted like PB&J, it wouldn't touch it. Not that I blame it, though..."

Food? Like, real food? Yeah, that's going to be a huge draw. Chase had dumped almost all of his money, even after selling a ton of memories, an organ, a hand... what? They'd grow back fine... in order to get more meat on the ship for just such purposes on XaXing. Now it was time to benefit from it.

Figuring the place was going to be busy, he settles in comfortably, feet up on a second chair while he waits to see who is about, and what's on the menu.

[identity profile] j-y-d.livejournal.com 2011-05-03 01:27 am (UTC)(link)
"Gods, I hope so. I heard you're serving real, actual food here? Anything involving real meat?" Cause while the slop works, for a primary carnivore, its not going over so well.

Anwei came in with a rather drawn look around the eyes, and a large dissection try under one arm. Things were getting busy down in Med Bay, and she didn't want anyone having a sugar crash right when they were needed.

"This looks wonderful, Sasami! Congratulations."

[identity profile] 8wings.livejournal.com 2011-05-03 01:33 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh, I'm fine," she said, waving a hand dismissingly. "We're just really busy with the people coming in for Quarantine."

She unslung the tray from under her arm; she'd carefully peeled the rubbery layer meant for sticking pins into from the bottom, and cleaned it. "So, I thought I'd try and cheer them up, with your help. What would you recommend as snacks for a bunch of very busy doctors, nurses, and medical admins?"

While certain friends had been more than happy to treat her to their (excellent) home-cooked meals, Saber's unique needs as a Servant made things considerably more difficult. In spite of her hopes that she could maintain her prana needs without supplementing the good meals with the questionable slop, she was sorely disappointed. Otherwise, she would have easily depleted their stores. And that would not do.

Sasami's announcements had definitely caught her attention. The size of the meals would not be a problem, even if she had to continue her unpleasant supplements, so long as it was but one portion of her overall intake. And more importantly, remind her that she could enjoy good food here.

Naturally, she found the café easily -- there was a meal that did not involve mysterious goo, after all -- and poked her head in. It seemed open, but she did not want to be rude if things were still being prepared.
