Monsters and Mazes
As you enter the Sensorium today you find a most peculiar sight.
A large black wall with a 8-bit logo reading "Monsters and Mazes"
And two simple words.
"Start Game."
Upon choosing this a new menu appears showing a series of options:
Fighter
Paladin
Hunter
Rogue
Wizard
Cleric
Bard
What to do what to do?

More text:
In your wanderings through the forest you've stumbled across some sort of ritual.
As the text fades an eerie silence settles in the area and the priestesses bow their heads.

So he moved up closer to the ritual without interrupting, waiting to see what came of it. (Also, hey, priestesses!)

The leaves in the trees begin to shake and crash like the ocean at night and darkness spreads through the area leaving only an unnatural green glow from from the cathedral before them.
The ground begins to shake...and a shriek from inside the building pierces all the noise.

He drew out his sword and charged towards the cathedral doors, bellowing, "For the glory of Quel'thalas!"
He hasn't figured out this is a game yet. This is pretty much his daily life.

...it's SUPPOSED to strike them, silence them, damage them, and return to his hand immediately. Instead, it just boned a priestess, then flopped to the ground.
"...Why? Why would you give me sword-and-shield equipment if I'm apparently trained for retribution?" he complained to the sky, as he hurried into the cathedral.

Inside the cathedral there were rows of wooden benches for sitting, and at the front of the cathedral a beautiful woman with green flowing hair, pointed features and clad in what could best be described as a bedsheet was hung up on the wall, while a dark looking warlock waved his hands about a swirling vortex.
And from that vortex little twig monsters were springing out. Fifty, sixty, ninety so far and all clawing their way up the wall to the girl, they looked mean.

There was only one thing to do: pull them all.
"The Sin'dorei will prevail!" he bellowed, leaping into the midst of the creatures as he called upon his powers as a paladin. He... meant to consecrate the ground with holy energy that would scourge the creatures from the world and draw them to attack him instead of the girl, but considering he had no idea what the M&M paladin powers actually were...

The monsters did in fact swarm towards him furiously, springing at him with their needle claws and lashing, scratching, biting furiously.
"Eeeeeeeeeeee!!!!"

The Warlock stood his ground but the rumbling was getting worse. One massive claw, the size of a carriage came through the portal and smashed into the ground sending tiles flying.

Oh well. Train to zone! Still in the midst pitched combat, Mar began stalking towards the warlock, hauling the entire pull of twig monsters with him. "This ends here, villain!"
no subject
"Stay back you fool, you'll damn us all!!!" He insisted continuing to draw out the massive beast from the portal.
no subject
Thinking quickly, he aimed carefully, then punted a twig monster at the warlock.

Meanwhile the shaking increased greatly, and windows began to break in the chapel.

But the portal remained open and the rumbling hadn't stopped. Dust and rubble began to fall from the roof as green light flooded the room.

He reversed course to charge for the girl, sword out to hew at her bonds and conveniently-free arm ready to catch her when she fell.

He hewed her legs free of bonds, hurled the girl over his shoulder, and sprinted for the exit.
no subject
But her warning came too late as tendrils of green slime shot from the portal chasing after them attempting to wrap them up like a gift.

With just a second of concentration, Mar drew all the mana in a short distance around him into his body like a rushing wave. He was trying to drain the tentacles just a little bit, maybe enough to slow them down.

A Loud shattering sound and the roof finally could take no more as it and the walls fell inward. It was gonna be a tight race!!
no subject
Man, he wished he had his shield at the moment!
no subject
And then, silence.
The trees, the animals, the rumbling all stopped.
All that could be heard was the damsel panting in fear and whimpering as she clutched at the hero desperately. The church was destroyed.
But the priestesses from before were back and not looking the least bit happy as they glared at the duo.
