Tim the Toolman would be green with envy [Open]
Xander found the selling memories guy too creepy. The only memories he would consider selling would be those fake ones from the fake older Xander guy who helped up screw up his first wedding. And he was trying not to think too much about the second wedding, even though he had been helping the Winchesters with the home improvements. Sam was still mostly clueless, and he was getting tired of Dean's glares.
At least there's another shore leave with plenty of housewares shops with supplies for guys who like to build. As long as you got the dough. Still the allowance Stacy offered helped a lot with getting much needed equipment for his shop. There were some fun power tools in one shop that looked promising. Also a socket wrench set that would make the Tool Time guys weep with joy.

Looking down -- and down -- nodded politely to the human. "Good afternoon." As ever, his lips did not move, but the rich English voice the transmitter provided sounded perfectly natural.

Then again, as the Yeerk reminded him, he tended to be pretty clueless about people being attracted to him, period. Female or male. However, the Yeerk had asked that nothing be done until after he had his own body, simply because Schmuz couldn't deal with the idea of 'human mating rituals'.
So, Sam was alone in his own head once more, finger in his ear as he tried to get rid of the strange feeling of something in it. He nearly passed the housewares shop, then stopped and backed up when he thought he saw someone he knew.
Of course it would be Xander. That was just the way his life worked. Taking a breath, he stepped inside. "Hey. Find anything interesting?"
no subject
"Uh hi," he brightly said with some nervousness, and a wave.
no subject
"Jeez and Josephat, Sam! Didn't see you there." He then gestured to some of the display.
"They got a great power drill. So you can go for hours. Drilling. Uh with the tool." Somebody bury him now, please?
no subject
He looked at the drill, then back to Xander. "Looks like it would certainly do the job, yeah."
no subject
Or at least change the subject. Focus on tools. Nice manly tools. Don't think of Sam having manly tools.
"You'd be able to raise lots of wood quickly once you got going. I mean with the attachments for it."
no subject
"Look at this Humar. The metal's too soft. I can understand wanting to make a profit, but whatever happened to making tools that last?"
no subject
He cleared his throat, trying not to laugh. Especially at that last bit, which was possibly just his mind being a little dirty. "Yeah, well, have to have the attachments, right?" He paused, then asked, "You going to be able to get everything you need on your allowance?" Three thousand credits sounded like it would go a long way, but with so much haggling going on, it was hard to tell.

Xander then realized who was talking, and eyed the chainsaw on his back. Oh Grandpa what a big saw you have? He sort of remembered seeing Cowabunga on the ship, but still was a little taken back by him.
no subject
Yeeeah, yeah still not working.
"Yeah thought the selling memories thing sounded too skeevy you know? Why share the wonderful pain and humiliation of high school?"
no subject
"Dean sold some of his." He wasn't even going to disagree with it. "I'm not entirely certain what he sold, but...apparently it was worth a lot."
Total lie. He knows pretty well what Dean probably sold. And it worries him because, one, there was apparently a market for those kinds of memories and two, because he was pretty sure it meant Dean had to relive them. It's the latter that really makes him ill. "So, you know. We're making sure we've got everything we could possibly need to finish off the extension."
no subject
"...They pasted two different labels on the exact same tool. What the flak?"
no subject

Xander nodded, "Sure, sure, just let me know what else you want for the rooms. Shouldn't be hard to get the second bathroom set up for one."

Xander just shrugged at that.

"Yeah, but at least you could go anywhere. And your home was never over a Hellmouth."
no subject
Sam watched him for a few more moments, wondering what he should say before he finally just blurted it out. "I know." Then followed up with, "I mean, about...you know."
Crap. He was CRAP at this stuff.
no subject
"You know? You mean you know-know?" Oh god, oh god, he's screwed. Here we go, another big rejection, you'd think he'd be used to it by now. After all, just because he asked Willow about gaying him up years ago means it really works that way. Tara, and Andrew both explained how it really worked in their own way. Plus, the less said about what happened between him and Mas...Dracula? The better.
no subject
Seriously. He should have known about that on his own, not had to have a Yeerk tell him.
At least he sounded a bit bemused rather than mad.
no subject
"And here I thought I was just being all ninja about it."
no subject
Sam shifted, balancing from one foot to the other for a moment. "Look. I'm...not good at this," he said after a moment. "I mean, the whole people having crushes and stuff. We never really stuck around anywhere for it to matter."

no subject
"Ok then what are you saying?"
no subject
It was all confusing, but it was hard to keep people at arms length on the ship.
no subject
And then blinked a few more times.
"Sorry, I think my brain just hit the wall, what was that? Was that a yes or a maybe?"
no subject
