Making sure they know the difference between her and I
Kaya's visit to the bazaar, along with the credits in hand, had put her in the redecorating mood. Everyone was still starting to get used to the difference between her and when she had Katara's memories: she figured it was time to show how alike they weren't. A few days ago, she had promised to start redecorating the room she shared with Alex, and this was the perfect opportunity.
She started by purchasing goza mats, getting some sliding doors (which were a lot heavier then they looked, thank goodness for Chase's training), and very pretty fish tapestry. Once those were collected, she smiled to herself and started to look for things she could get for Alex, specifically, this black light he spoke about.
She had also picked up a few outfits and some foodstuffs for the Outsiders and Matt, smiling to herself. This way her money would be used up soon, but at least she was starting to show some of her individuality. For the moment, she was sitting at a cafe, sipping a refreshing alien drink, goggles atop her head.

Now he just needed to relax for a while before he went anywhere else. He didn't really need to go anywhere real fast or anything - this was his first shore leave after all. He had just done a lot of shopping and needed to stop for a while. He even had to admit that will all the shopping he had done - the items of which had been shipped back to Stacy (minus a set of clothes or two) - had worn him out and it was time to cool off. With it being as hot as it was, he had found that being in the shade was a good thing.
So there he was, in the same small cafe-like place to cool off. In his hand was a drink that was apparently the alien equivilant of an iced chai tea - how they got those spices he wouldn't ask. He was sitting down at one of the shaded tables and watching fellow crew members walking around and buying and bartering with the merchants around the place.

"Hello," she said, giving him a smile. "Is this your first shore leave?"
no subject
"Yes... It is," he answered honestly.
no subject
"You get used to it," she said. "I mean, there are what most people would consider aliens, but there are plenty of those on the ship too. At least there's water, REAL water, from the planet though, I missed it."
And to show that, she made a bneckoning mostion with her fingers, and the alien drink crawled toward her on water tentacles, which she had to giggle about.
"Sorry, I haven't introduced myself: I'm Kaya, of the Northern Water Tribe. Who might you be?"
no subject
"A pleasure to meet you Kaya-san. I'm Ryuunosuke Ikenami. I suppose you could say I'm from Earth, but I'm not sure how valid that would be. From what I've heard there are many Earths," he spoke.
no subject
"Well, I'm not from Earth, but I know there are a lot of people who have come from there. I'm going to guess you're from Japan: I've heard people from there use those honorifics before. Each are a little different, but there are a lot of similarities too. I was lucky: I found some things here that might be seen in my world."
And she showed him her wares purchased so far.
no subject
"Depending on where you are on Earth, the culture is very different. Americans are not like Japanese are not like Europeans," he explained, "But you would be right, I am from Japan, Kaya-san. I was lucky to have been awakened with someone I knew from my own world. Here in this world, I also found some things."
He would have shown her, but most of what he had bought was already back on the Stacy.
no subject
"No, I know all about that," Kaya laughed. "I've studied about Earth in the emdia library, and we have people who've come from all over different parts of Earth. I'm aware peopelp in different countries have different traditions. According to one jerky crewmate, I look 'Chinese.' Well, I think that's what 'Chink' was supposed to mean, anyway."
She shrugged. "How are you enjoying yourself on Stacy?"
no subject
He gave another small nod. "It's been alright. I'm still finding my way around the city some, still trying to settle in as best I can. The same goes for my friend."
no subject
She smiled. "Well if you like, I can tell you in detail about the city. I actually live there, in the abandoned hotel, with a friend of mine, Alex."
no subject
"You don't have to tell me in detail, but at least a little bit of information would be nice," he admitted. He was embarrassed to say that a couple of times he had actually gotten lost already. However he somehow always found his way back to where he and Takeru were staying.
no subject
"Sure, though I better get the map so its a little easier. I used to get lost myself. But I have been most of these places, having been here for awhile. Is there any place in particular that you were curious about?"
no subject
"Here," he said, pointing to a long street, "And then here." The second place he pointed to seemed to be the corner of an intersection.
no subject
"That streets starts Religious Row, where all of the buildings where people worship various god figures," Kaya said. "There's several shrines here, most notably the Vatican, where we took our stand against the zombies once. Where this intersects, that's really where Religious Row ends and other parts of the city begins. The farther down you go, the more varied the places are."
no subject
"You had zombies on the ship once?" he asked surprised, "What all happens on Stacy?"
no subject
"Yes, there was some kind of mishap that caused that to happen. There have been takeovers, disease outbreaks, magical tampering, clothes deprivation, maiming, death, imprisonment...its likely to happen with a crew as diverse in abilities as we are. I've seen a lot in the past two years."
no subject
"Two years... You've been out of the pods for that long..." The kabuki actor was amazed that people had survived that long. He still wondered about others who were like him as far as having powers or anything like that. He didn't even remember being taken, though so far there had been nights where he woke up in cold a cold sweat, but couldn't remember the dream.
"During the time you've been out, did you ever run into someone named Tsukasa Kadoya?" He was curious as to who the traveler of worlds had run into. The guy hadn't been so bad when they ran into him and his group. It had just been inconvenient - mostly due to the fact that one of the Rider's companions had stolen from the team.

"They e-end up g-glowing when you turn on the b-black light!"

He would definitely have to show her how blacklight worked when they were done.
