The Predator [open]

The plan of attack was pretty simple-- the bazaar was generally unfamiliar territory, so the point was going to be to stalk the field, to scope out the best items and deals. If she could find the weakest salespeople, the best deals... those would be the best places to strike. This was going to be good.

Moving with purpose, Rachel started to weave through the crowded bazaar, eyes set on her first target: a nearby clothing stall, vivid fabric aired in the open.

Sandy looked back at it and shrugged, "I thought it looked cool, different you know?" She looked back at the selection, "Don't have alot of clothes at home and even less on Stacy."

"'Different' doesn't always mean 'cool'," Rachel commented, using the girl's own terminology. But hearing her explanation-- that made sense, anyway. "So you basically don't know what you're doing with this stuff, then?"

Sandy shrugged again, "So long as I'm warm and covered it never really mattered." And even warm was a stretch considering how it always rained, "What are you like an expert?" Oh Sandy, if you only knew.

"And looking good never really mattered?" Rachel asked to clarify, voice sceptical. That was kind of unfortunate. Sure, practicality mattered a lot, but...

Her expression changed into a smile at that question. "Something like that," Rachel said cheerfully. "So I think I should help you out here."

"Well, no not really. Actually it was probably better not to stand out." Sandy mused thoughtfully.

Still, she was offering...

"Alright, but I'm not agreeing to anything I don't like."

"And looking like you don't really care about appearance doesn't stand out?" she asked. For emphasis, she gestured to the 'interesting' hat. Lack of fashion was pretty distracting, in her view.

Great, so here was another person Rachel could help out with. Plus, shopping was shopping. "Trust me, you'll like it."

"Uh...well...not really?" Sandy's cheeks started to burn as she felt like she'd been doing something wrong all her life without knowing. "Not in my neighborhood anyway."

She had some apprehension brewing in her belly but she nodded, "Alright..."

Rachel shrugged to that. "Where I come from? When you don't look like you care, people flock to it. And not in a good way." She wasn't one of those people, of course, but it was still something she knew. "But if you can ignore them then good for you." And that was something she meant.

"Let's see then," she said, voice cheerful as she started to browse. She kept glancing at the girl, appraising her. She was going to find something that the girl would like that would look flattering.

((ooc: Not particularly, just something cute and functional since she likes to run around and stuff. And she's got a little boy that she likes if that offers any help))

"Guess that makes sense. I mean you don't wanna stand out too much so I guess it's just kinda like...hiding around people who look like you do or who are sort of dressed in the same style?"

"Something like that," Rachel agreed, flashing a smile as she flipped through some clothes. Surely she could find something that would work for this girl. Just by her look and current, Rachel already had a decent idea of what kind of thing would work for her. "Dressing up doesn't necessarily mean that you're going to stand out. You can but only if you go for that."
