It's five o'clock somewhere!

It was easy to find the Drunken Dragon Tavern, due to the train, and the fact that a good portion of the crew was familiar with the establishment and could point the way. Kang knew that there were a few already planning on stopping by, and that Kaylee could use the help. He also wanted to get more information on the new people, see who was likely to cause problems (Farseer Ildraniath already had) and who wasn't. There were a few he hoped would show up, as well.

Feeling a little happier than usual, despite the Farseer, he took care of business as usual, being sociable and refilling drinks.

[Open post is very open. Feel free to talk to either Kang or Kaylee, or both, or to threadjack (with permission, of course)!]

"Interesting," Hawke replied. "Must be a sight to see, then."

He could only imagine what an entire nation of dragon-people must be like.

"I'm originally from Ferelden, myself, before I moved to Kirkwall. We're known for our dogs, our bland food, and the color brown."

Everything was brown in Ferelden. Everything.

"I think it was more so the threat of imminent death when the Darkspawn invaded," he laughed, though it was a little bit weaker than before. "My mother's family used to have an estate in Kirkwall, so we thought to flee there, but we found out our uncle Gamlen gambled it all away."

Gamlen was a bit of a black sheep, unfortunately.

"Kirkwall always has something going on. It's like it can't go a couple years without some kind of crisis. Still, it's a good place for a fresh start."

"Monsters of a sort," he explains. "Normally they're down in the Deep Roads, fighting with the Dwarves. Every few centuries or so, though, an Archdemon will call them and make them into an army, and they'll march on the surface as a full-blown Blight. That's what happened in Ferelden."

It wasn't particularly pretty, and it took a good while for things to ever return to normal. Still, Hawke had been well enough situated in Kirkwall after everything ended that he decided not to return.

"You know, you're the second governor I've met here. What was the other one's name? Bight, I think?"

"We Fereldens are just unlucky like that," he laughed.

"Is he a big name in your world, then? He seemed rather personable to me."

"Well, it's a start, at least," he said. "No one I know from home is here, but I did meet my second cousin for the first time here. That was rather surreal."

"At the rate it's been going, I'd better get used to digging, then," he laughed.
