Just Fly... [Open]

It seemed like it was another lazy, somewhat-boring day. It was still worrisome: was things alright? Were they still needed? Going for so long without anything happening was making her feel at edge - something Sasami shouldn't be doing as she's a kid.

In response, she opted to head for the Sensoriums to relieve some of the boredom. In rapid succession, she opted to play through different scenarios - a cooking contest, a somewhat-familiar magical girl adventure or two and a few where she was the hero and saved everyone. It was fun and all, but the fact that a lot of those adventures were dragging images of her old friends and family had started to upset her. At this point, it seemed that she was never going to be reunited with any of them...

...shaking her head, she shoved those thoughts out. She couldn't be thinking about that, not now. There was still the possibility that they were in there. Right now, she needed something to get her mind off of that. The room growing blank, she felt the gravity be shut off and letting her float in the air. The various events she had been in had worked her hairbands loose enough that, when she started floating, they came undone and let her hair hang loose... and frankly, she enjoyed it. Though, it was lonely in here...

It was around that time that Hikari entered the Sensorium, a smile on her face. Tailmon wasn't with her this time, but that didn't matter all that much, her partner was free to have her own life, after all.

Still, she hadn't been expecting Sasami to be alone in here.. and the place being like this. She ended up floating into the air rather quickly, actually. "Hey Sasami-chan!" she said, floating up towards the younger girl.

Hikari giggled. "Nothing much. Just wanted to maybe get some training in," she said. "What about you?"

Hikari smiled, floating over closer to Sasami. "Sure, if you want to!"

She hadn't trained against Sasami... at all in fact. It'd be interesting to see what the other girl could do.

Hikari smiled, pulling out her pactio card. "If you want. I can fly no matter what, so..."

She was good at hiding feelings: when it came down to it, a hero had to do just that.

But you're an Overlord now, aren't you? No more hero stuff.

Just one of the random things in the back of her mind, but what was at at the front was something that the Overlord had said to her. The idea that it was hard to imagine her with a mother. She didn't know why that bothered her at first, it shouldn't have. Really, would it have made a difference?

Well, it would have, in a lot of ways. She wouldn't have had a reason to be Hit Girl, for one thing, no vendetta. But there would have been two parents looking after her. Maybe the memories would have been better, happier somehow? But they would have all been dead, fodder for the Ohm, random faceless humans living their version of a normal life.

Instead, both of her parents were dead anyway, but she was still here, carrying on. Maybe it was weird, imagining her with a mother, but why did it bother her so damn much that he even said it? She shook her head, walking into the Sensorium, and found herself rising up in the air. It was actually a lot like when she'd been with Tavros that one time, and she spotted Sasami quickly.

"Heya princess," she said, glad to stop thinking about herself so much. "I told you that you looked better with your hair down."

Hit Girl allowed herself to ascend a little higher, like Tavros had shown her from before. The compliment was one she'd agreed with actually, but the last thing she expected was to be asked about how she was feeling.

"Me? I'm good, I guess. I mean, as well as one can be on the ship or whatever, which is to say conflicted. Just asking myself stupid questions I have no business thinking about."

"Maybe its not that its stupid, but useless to even think about," Hit Girl said. She drifted a moment, silently contemplating. "Like, you never start thinking about how you're raised and how tough it was or anything, you just live through it, right? That's what kids do, they make the best of what they have. Then one day someone says some fucking thing, and you suddenly start asking yourself how things would have been if."

She shook her head. "I sort of wonder what life might have been if I had my mother around."

Likewise, Negi was feeling a little bored since the rush of GlaDOS puzzles had ended and he was wandering around. Chamo was still with the crazy AI and was probably crying that Aniki got out before he did. But he supposed ermine souls were different than normal souls.

Stepping into the sensoriums and ready to re-create a few mazes he had been stuck on, he was surprised to begin to float there and when he noticed the girl he liked, he waved at her. "Sasami hi!"

"Far too long," admitted Negi with a sigh and nod. "I'm sorry I haven't been around for a while."

"Just having fun today?"

[identity profile] hisfathersstaff.livejournal.com 2011-03-13 06:44 pm (UTC)(link)
"Do what makes you feel happy," replied Negi honestly, hugging her back. "How do you feel by the way? All right?"

He was worried after all. He hadn't seen Sasami in a while at least.

Aqua watched her surrogate sister play, a faint smile on her face. It was good to see Sasami playing like a normal kid, instead of always trying to help everyone all the time.

"You look like you're having fun," she noticed.

"Everything's fine," Aqua insisted, smiling. Admittedly, it was more a matter of things not having gone horribly wrong lately, but that was definitely a good sign. "I'm glad to see you're taking a break."

Aqua took Sasami's hand, and in moments, she too was floating around. It was nothing like the strange weightlessness in the Lanes Between, but not too different from the pixie dust-aided jumps she could make.

"You're right," she agreed with a smile. "It is fun."
