In Which the Overlord Dislikes What He Sees [Open]

In roaming the ship, out of an increased sense of irritation and impatience, Zetta had discovered someplace new to him.

Most of the murals and paintings and sculptures in the place, disturbing though they might be to a mortal mind, gave the Overlord no pause whatsoever. In his thousands of years, he had seen the death of worlds, the descent into madness of some truly great minds, the greatest depravities of the Netherworlds, and Mickey in a feather boa. These 'alarming' sculptures couldn't dare disturb the mental integrity of the Overlord! Hyaaa ha ha ha ha!

...What DID shock him, though, was the statues beneath a giant head-sculpture thing. Two of them, in fact: the first an obstinate Overlord, arms crossed and looking stubborn, his back to the second; the second a woman walking away, stoic despite tears.

"What the... What the HELL is THIS crap?!" Zetta demanded of the room in general and the cosmos at large.

"Some people want to take the next step Zetta... if she felt that way, that meant she was ready to give you her all, more than anything. And only to you. It's something really special." She said softly, looking at the girls statue.

"What the hell's so special about it?" Zetta still didn't understand.

"It's unlike anything else in the universe truthfully. It's a feeling unique in it's own right, and the things it makes people do, or empowers them to do so are just amazing." She said more seriously.

"Hmph. So is hatred," Zetta pointed out. Probably one of the most demonly things he'd ever said.

"It's not the same Zetta... And hatred isn't really unique either. Not in the same love I guess... It's hard to explain at times." She thought she had made progress, but it seemed he was dead set on not wanting to. She sighed a little.

"Yeah, clearly. So how do YOU know all about it, huh?" It's a leading question, one Zetta intends to spring like a trap to judge by his sudden smirk.

"Hope I guess. I seeked it for so long. A part of me wanted to feel how wonderful everyone else who was in love, and the rest of me knew better... I didn't think I would ever... No that's not it. I never thought I was deserving of it. So I just dreamed a lot... going by hearsay and books. Dreaming the person in question was me instead of those who talked about it, or the protagonist of said story..." She shook her head and laughed bitterly.

"You must think I'm pathetic huh... It doesn't matter, I think so too. Anyways, that's were I know what it's like from. So I guess that discredits anything I told you huh..."

She had been feeling it personally lately... Her self-hatred however was keeping her down. It was hard to feel it when he wasn't around.

"Hey," Zetta said sharply, glaring at her. "I thought I told you to stop thinking like that."

"And I've been doing better, really. It won't jus' go away tho. Not anytime soon." And she was thankful really, for the Overlords pushiness.

"Well, do better! When you start saying crap like that, imagine me yelling at you." That was sure to help, right?

She couldn't help but laugh a little. "I'll make sure to remember that Zetta." She smiled back at him.

"Damn straight you will," Zetta said, secretly pleased he had diverted the conversation from her love-babble.

Yeah, she sort of gave up -For now!- on that topic. "So what are you gonna do now Zetta?" She stretched while asking curiously, looking up at him.

"Ogle," said Zetta, matter-of-factly. Her own fault for stretching! "Otherwise... about what?"

She looked at him curiously, not having understood the statement. "Not sure, with the rest of your day I guess. You seemed to have calmed down a lot regarding the statues, so I was wondering what you were gonna do."

The stat--

THE STATUES!

"THE STATUES!" Zetta roared, looking back at the offending sculpture. "Help me smash the crap out of this thing!" he insisted.

But even as he did, the statue shifted to reveal a Zetta who looked all of six years old, standing in front of what simply had to be his parents. The resemblance was too obvious to deny.

She arched a brow and looked at him incredulously. "Why would you want to destroy them Zetta?" she questioned.

She turned to the statues and tilted her head curiously. "Zetta?" she asked, as she moved towards the new scene.

"...The hell? What IS this crap?!" Zetta demanded. "Why--why is this statue showing stuff about me?!"

She looked at the scene curiously, walking in between the statues studying them. "What happened here?" She asked the Overlord, a curious concerned expression on her face.

"Nothing happened," Zetta said, irritated. "That's just Mom and Dad."

She looked back and forth before turning to the Overlord. "So you're demons mate as well? Not so different from the ones in my world. Did your parents love each other?" She asked curiously.

"Of course not," Zetta said reflexively. "They were constantly trying to kill each other."

"Oh... Guess they're not that much different from normal demons back home either. What about you? Did you like your parents? Or were you out to kill them too and vice versa?" She asked as she walked over and studied kid Zetta's statue.

"Of course I was!" Zetta snapped, again without even thinking about it. "I just never managed."

The statues wavered abruptly, and then suddenly added two more demons into the mix -- a pair of what could only be Zetta's siblings, each younger than he was.

Ronnae blinked at the new statues questioningly before looking at Zetta. "You didn't kill your siblings... did you?"
