For once, things just seemed peaceful for Sasami. Nothing awkward or dangerous or outwardly crazy going on and...

...it made her bored. She enjoyed the craziness of home, the arguments, the yelling, the fighting, the random explosions due to the fighting. The ship didn't give that wonder to her - if it wasn't the laws that the crew voted on long ago, it was Stacy herself keeping everyone in order. She had a feeling that, if they were here, Ryoko and Ayeka would have either been given punishments or just gone bonkers from not fighting over Tenchi. Or at least, that's what she thought.

Her listless wandering lead her over to Awesome World, the theme park Rock designed before his repodding. Though a lot of the rides were active and being maintained, there were other areas around that were left untouched. Curiosity got the better of her and she ran over to the incomplete roller coaster, bypassing the robotic guards still standing there. It seemed to be a basic coaster of sorts, so there were no loops or sharp turns that would get in her way of just walking along the tracks.

Maybe that's all she needed - just to do something a bit dangerous...

Starfire noticed, always within reach in case Sasami stumbled. There was a hint there. She'd take a guess at it.

"...you wish me to return for family time? What does it entail?"

Sasami stopped and faced Starfire, a small smile on her face. She wasn't sure if she had extended the offer before, but she was willing to do so now.

"Only one thing: to be part of my family. It... may not replace what we've lost, but as long as we're together, we'll handle anything...!"

That was unexpected. To...to be part of a family again? So much nicer than her birth sister too.

Starfire paused, taking the girl's hands and looking serious. "I will join your family if you will accept me," she whispered. "Our strength will prevail."

Sasami's smile widened as Starfire accepted the invitation. Nodding quickly, Sasami continued.

"I'd gladly accept you, Star-neechan...!" Sasami said, squeezing Star's hands before hugging her. "You don't have to be alone anymore, Starfire... you have people who'll be with you..."

'Neechan.' Starfire heard the endearment and pondered it, translating it as a sisterly word. They could be sisters, then, certainly with a better relationship than her connection with Blackfire.

"Thank you, Sasami. I am glad to have chosen you as my family," she whispered into the girl's ear.

She looked up, noting that they were near the end of the tracks. "I have been told about a family tradition known as the piggyback ride," she noted, surprised that the thought had come to her. "Does it involve pigs?"

"You're welcome, Star..." Sasami whispered.

As she asked the question, looking out at the end of the tracks, Sasami couldn't help but giggle. "Nuh-uh! It's actually pretty fun...! Hoshi-neesan showed me earlier!"

Leaning back with a smile, she explained. "One person just carries the other on their back and let them ride around. It's... usually younger kids being carried by older people."

Starfire giggled, picturing the act. "I do not know many who would be able to ride on pigs. Would it not be more appropriate to call it a horse-back ride?"

Mysteries, mysteries. But she did like the idea.

"It should be possible to do so in the air," she mused aloud, a twinkle in her eye.

Sasami couldn't help but giggle. "It probably would be. I wonder why they called it a piggyback ride, though..."

When she heard the suggestion, she couldn't help but let out an elated breath. "...could we?"

Starfire winked. "Then perhaps one day we will find the reason! But...yes, you may fly with me. I am stronger than I look."

She knelt in front of Sasami, lifting a hand to secure Sasami's around her neck.

Sasami held back a yelp of joy. For all her wanting to help out with the crew, for all her wanting to be important? Just being a kid made her happy.

Perching herself on Starfire's back, her arms wrapped around securely around her neck, she nodded. "Whenever you're ready, Star-neechan...!"

"Let us fly!" Starfire whooped as she took a firm hold on Sasami's legs, rising from the ground slowly. She'd start by flying above the track, following its path up and down and around. No loops yet---Sasami would have to ask.

She curved out of the track area and across the rest of the park, looking at all the attractions from above. "Is there anything you wish to see from this height?"

"Wow..." Sasami whispered, enjoying the sights. As Starfire kept flying, she shook her head.

"No, not in particular. Is there anything you wanted to see? Or perhaps want to show me?" Sasami asked. One of the good things in life was not knowing what you wanted to see and getting there.

Starfire just grinned, speeding it up.

"Would you like an aerial view of your palace?" She was heading in that direction anyway, and the earthy appearance of it called to her.

"Oh, that would be wonderful...!" Sasami said.

Admittedly, the last time Sasami could see her home from above? Was probably when she was considered a criminal. She wouldn't let Star know that, though...

Starfire circled above the grand tops of it, brushing her fingers against the powerful structure. It was such a nice place.

"It will be wonderful to return here," she mused before checking on Sasami. "Do you still wish to fly? Above the river?"

"I kept a room open in case you wanted to stay longer." Sasami admitted. "It's your choice..."

"And yes, I'd love to...!"

Starfire nodded vigorously. "Yes," she answered. "Families live together, do they not?"

And they were off to the river! Starfire dived with a joyous shout, skimming low enough to see their reflections.

"Mmn, they should...! Families stick together... or try to, at least!" Sasami said, nodding.

As the two dove at the river, Sasami couldn't help but look at the refection... and lean her head closer to Starfire.

Starfire smiled and leaned closer, the perfect portrait of siblings on a fun day.

"Oh! We must have a family portrait!" If only it was possible.

"Ooh, we should...!" Sasami said, agreeing. "Maybe we should do so next time we stop at another planet!"

"Yes! We must have beads, and outfits, and---" Oh she'd keep going, but there was a branch overhanging the river to dodge! She curved downward, then rose up with Sasami.

"I apologize for my carelessness. Are you all right?"
