A Listless Feeling... [Open]

For once, things just seemed peaceful for Sasami. Nothing awkward or dangerous or outwardly crazy going on and...

...it made her bored. She enjoyed the craziness of home, the arguments, the yelling, the fighting, the random explosions due to the fighting. The ship didn't give that wonder to her - if it wasn't the laws that the crew voted on long ago, it was Stacy herself keeping everyone in order. She had a feeling that, if they were here, Ryoko and Ayeka would have either been given punishments or just gone bonkers from not fighting over Tenchi. Or at least, that's what she thought.

Her listless wandering lead her over to Awesome World, the theme park Rock designed before his repodding. Though a lot of the rides were active and being maintained, there were other areas around that were left untouched. Curiosity got the better of her and she ran over to the incomplete roller coaster, bypassing the robotic guards still standing there. It seemed to be a basic coaster of sorts, so there were no loops or sharp turns that would get in her way of just walking along the tracks.

Maybe that's all she needed - just to do something a bit dangerous...

He moved to help her unsnag her hair.

Ah, I thought that might be the case. How is that working out? I haven't seen many places to eat around here... well, that don't offer some rather unpalatable nutrient slop, that is.

No problem at all.

[Argh, I hate it when my hair gets stuck on things D:]

Does it take very long in between planet missions? Perhaps I should have helped stock up on food supplies while we were on the last world. He looked a little embarrassed. I don't eat very much, so I rarely remember that sort of thing.

So even you don't know when the missions will be?

Well, so much for the theory that crew members who'd been around longer knew more about what was going on.

It must be hard to plan a restaurant business when you have no idea when your next supplies will arrive. Is it possible to obtain any from Hydroponics?

He waited politely for her to recover. Had he mentioned a topic that was off limits? He couldn't be sure.

Erm, well, don't feel too bad about it. A lot of the vegetation there was from plants I'd never seen before. It's natural that you wouldn't consider it food.

In fact, I'd test it out to make sure none of it was harmful to the crew before using it to prepare food.

Perhaps you could get someone from Medical to help? I'm sure An-- I'm sure there are staff there who would be happy to lend a hand, if it meant a change in pace in their eating habits.

I'm not sure. If you did, however, someone would have to be willing to kill them, first.

He paused for a moment, then added, Also, some of them may be crew members.

Well, at least you may have a new source of fruits and vegetables. Those tend to be harder to store, anyway.

Would you be the restaurant chef, as well?

I imagine it would be a full-time job. Maybe you can hire some help? Or...

I suppose if it were a cafe, you'd only need to be open certain hours. It's unrealistic to expect one person to take care of everything.

He smiled at that. I'm sure he doesn't. At any rate, if you ever need any wait staff, let me know. I don't sleep very much, so I'd be willing to lend a hand if you're ever short.

Catching her questioning look, he continued, I am a Synthetic Human, so my sleep requirements are minimal. It's an asset during missions, but there isn't much to do on the ship when everyone is asleep.

Not particularly, he said. Humans are born, and I was created.

I've gotten that question a lot since arriving here, though. The people here don't seem very familiar with Synthetic Humans.
With the exception of Jr., of course, who had decided he was basically a Realian.

It bothers me more that I have very little to do. I'm not really used to remaining idle for such long periods of time.

Cleaning up around the house? Did you not attend school back where you came from? I believe that's what most children of your age do with much of their time.
