[OPEN] Downtime

Most of the people who used the Sensoriums fell into two categories: They either wanted to use the place to find some new and creative way to break themselves in half, or they used it to replicate their home in some kind escapist fantasy. Leon didn't fall into either one of those groups, which may explain why he didn't use the sensoriums much, if at all. He figured whatever they would face in the rest of the ship would find new and creative ways to try to break him into pieces, and as much as he missed home, he'd rather deal with the reality of the situation than pretend this wasn't happening.

He did, however, visit the media library fairly frequently. He didn't bother looking up too much information on himself, particularly after he became aware of Resident Evil. Nor did he look up information on others unless he absolutely needed to. But listening to some music and browsing through books and articles did help him relax. So did the game of Tetris he was able to download to his phone, but flipping through stuff was a bit more productive. At least then he might learn more about this ship, its purpose, the Ohm, and the mysterious Third Party.

In between Tetris breaks, anyway.

"DoD, huh?" Jo asks, her smile growing a bit. "We have some DoD up in Eureka. They... uh, kinda run the place actually."

She eyes him for a moment. "Ever heard of it? I mean Eureka?"

"Seriously?" Though it's really not all that surprising, considering it's all suppose to be hush-hush. But then again, they were in the middle of outer space on some crazy spaceship, it probably didn't matter.

"Well Eureka is basically inhabited by brilliant scientists working on new scientific advancements and weapons for the DoD. It looks like a small normal town, but it's really not."

"Oh, that would make sense..." It did though, she guessed only certain people would know about it... Except when one of the Generals would call in the military and then... She always wondered how they dealt with that afterwards....

"I still find that strange... The whole same planet different timelines.."

[identity profile] deputyjo.livejournal.com 2009-06-17 08:16 pm (UTC)(link)
"Yeah, I guess they would..." She pulls her knees up and drapes her arms over them. "Though I think half the scientists would still do everything they've done the same. Even if it was stuff like almost destroying the planet. They claim it's all scientific advancement, even their mistakes..."

Jo totally agrees with Leon. "Yeah, really. Before moving there I never thought that smart people could be so dumb."

"I know, we do a lot of cleaning up in Eureka... Thankfully no one has been really hu -" She cut herself off because that's not true. Kim had died and Stark had she didn't even know how to decribe what had happened to Stark on his wedding day of all days.

"Thankfully none of them have managed to blow the world up."

"I do," She nods, and realizes that she really was. Despite all of Eureka's flaws, it's actually not that bad of a place.

"Sooo..." She says after a few moments of silence. "What do you think about the members of our team?"

[identity profile] deputyjo.livejournal.com 2009-06-22 02:34 pm (UTC)(link)
"No I haven't. But I'm sure they're good...." At least she hoped so. She actually hadn't met all of the team yet. She'd met Dean, and she thought he was OK and he was pretty good with a gun, so that added some more repect right there.

"I can ask around though, see what others think of them..." Not that she always took others observations at face value, but it would in a way give them something to work with.

"Awesome, I'll start that ASAP." Jo has no problem snooping around, gathering info on others...

She's use to digging up information, afterall she had to keep an eye on who was coming and going in Eureka, this shouldn't be any different.
