Slow ridin' [closed]
In just a few minutes, Billy had agreed to give Ronnae an aerial tour of the city. The RADBUG was fueled, the bits of the car he'd taken for scrap material were replaced, and it was inhabitable for a brief jaunt.
Everything settled, he parked in front of the transport tube's exit and waited for their whirlwind flight to begin. With her in tow it was bound to be memorable!

She had decided to wear a red mid drift jacket with a black t-shirt and a red long skirt with a knee high side slit instead of her trademark hoodie and loose jeans.
She fidgeted a bit as she looked around between the area and poking at her comm.

Billy stepped out of the car and walked to her. "Hey Ronnie! I know the RADBUG doesn't look like much, but I can assure you that it's safe for a trip around the city."

"Hiya! This looks neat! And it flies! You don't know how much I've missed flying ever since the pop. Well... technically we're flying because of Stacy right? But that's umm well you know what I mean!" She laughed a bit nervously.

He patted his dear car's hood fondly, then walked over to the passengers' side and opened the door. "Are you ready, or is there anything else that you need?"

"We need to find a fairly straight road to accelerate enough for takeoff," he said to himself, "and I know just where to go." They started off on the road toward the precinct, accelerating until it was safe to pull up.
After a moment, they were flying above the buildings. He turned them toward the explored area. "Do you want a tour of the area we already know first, or is there something specific that you're looking for?
no subject
"Woohoo!" She stopped and looked back to Billy when she realized she wasn't alone. Blushing she laughed a bit. "Umm well I've walked around the explored area a lot. I've actually been looking around the unexplored parts. Both for insight and maybe a place to call my own."

"So we're going for a long flight," Billy smiled, steering them outward and beyond the familiar. He glanced longingly at a tan building that almost looked like a series of scrolls standing up---the old command center, the place that had been his home for so long. But they were moving onward, over smaller buildings.
"You can claim any building that isn't already taken. There should definitely be some available out here."

Every now and then she would glance over and give a very thankful smile at him, always a slight blush on her face, though tonight it didn't bother her. She was happy.

Finally, though, he saw a familiar shape, almost like a pile of shells. "Look down there!" Billy pointed, turning the car so that she could see. "That's the Sydney Opera House. It's a famous arts building---opera, ballet, and orchestra performances happened there on Earth."
no subject
She looked at Billy and smiled, "Did you ever visit it Billy?" She was so at ease she made no move to sit back and stayed leaning over to his side looking at between the building and him.

He perked up at the mention of the gallery, though, as they continued on: "Did you inherit her talents?"
no subject
Ronnae blushed, fidgeting while looking down. "Umm not as, never as good as her. But back in my home we were encouraged to take up arts as a means to alleviate tension from the wars, training or school. I ah... Well I painted and played the flute..." She turned her gaze away to make it seem like she was looking at the buildings.
no subject
He glanced at her and reached over, tapping her shoulder when he was sure that things were stable at the wheel. "It's all right," he assured her. "I'm sure that your art's much better than mine---I'm so talentless that I build mechanical art instead of sculpting or painting in art class."

He kept going, now over a brighter landscape. He kept the explored area in sight in the distance, making sure they didn't stray too far. "What kind of home would you like to live in?"
no subject
She looked thoughtful for a few, "Well something familiar would be nice. With another building beside or nearby it for my friend. He's been hating the crew quarters and keeps sneaking out of our room and sleeping on the street cause it's 'more outdoorsy'" She sighs but laughs a little.

"Here, I'll descend---" Once he was sure she'd be safe, he brought the car lower over some homey-looking cottages. "You should be able to find two empty ones here. I hope your friend finds a more comfortable sleeping spot than the floor."

"Ronnie, are you okay? I can land if you'd like to take a look inside or take a break."

He slipped out of his side of the car and opened the door for her again, smiling a little. "Welcome to the...well, this area of town doesn't have a name yet. But maybe you'll be able to name it!"

Billy looked somewhat sad at the mention of the lost roommate, but he tried to focus on the present: getting Ronnae situated in her new place.
