Katara laughed. "Yup, that sounds like him. But I like Ben: he's part of the Outsiders, and he's always been a pretty nice person too."

She was happy that Reimi was more comfortable though. "You aren't feeling more tired, are you?"

"Just a little but the cool water helped a lot," said Reimi as she began to boil the water to brew the packets of tea. "Are you feeling any more tired? It looks like Nura's out like a light."

"I am, a little," Katara admitted, "But I don't know why, or why Nura fell asleep so quickly. What is going on with that?"

In any case, she would be more than happy to accept some tea. "So I never got to ask: is there anyone that you like on the ship, Reimi?"

"I couldn't say," replied Reimi. "I would think it would be due to something outside but I couldn't say at all."

Pouring the water, Reimi nearly fumbled the water but righted herself. "M-me? No... not really..." Reimi smiled but it was a little sad. "The one that I would like... isn't here. Though..."

She glanced at Katara and Nura who slept, and blushed. "Sorry, I can't really tell to be honest."

Katara sighed. "Well, maybe I can go to the med bay and find out. I hope I'm not coming down with something."

Katara looked at the girl questionably. She wondered why it was a problem for her to mention the name of someone she didn't even know. In any case, Katara supposed she could sort of understand.

"Well, I guess that's your choice," she said. "I can understand that. I wish that person comes on the ship soon. I'm sure that would make you very happy."

There's a far off look her face here, as if she's thinking of something that makes her look sad.

Reimi sighed. "His name is Edge. Edge Maverick. When I was little, he and I and Crowe would play together. But he'd treat me like a kid, even now. Even in the sensoriums, I'm just Reimi."

She sighed as she placed the cup in front of Katara. "That's... not half of it either. I started... noticing things about girls too... I know what that means; I'm attracted to women and men."

She looked at Nura's slumbering form and she pinked a little. "She is beautiful, but I couldn't say anything other than being a friend. I'm sorry, you must think I'm completely weird... but back home, it's not frowned upon. Not anymore. We can't afford to be picky, with most of the world's population gone from World War 3."

Katara had wondered about that when Reimi mentioned it earlier. That was pretty heart wrenching, to imagine if that had happened to someone she cared about. Of course, she just happened to remember when she actually did that before.

She did listen with small surprise to the last part. Surprise, not shock: this was definitely not the first time she heard about this kind of relationship. She realized, though, that Reimi must have figured that if she came from a different world, that might be a big thing.

"I've heard of people on the ship who have only liked just men or women too. It's not something I ever really knew in my world, but I do believe in love. Wherever it comes from, if it something two people share honestly with each other, its beautiful, isn't it?"

And now, NOW Katara understood what Reimi was sharing when Reimi pinked. "OH." That was definitely a little more revealing, and something that must be bittersweet. Nura was the type of person who brought energy and good feeling in others: she could see how that might be loved by someone else.

"It isn't weird. I can't see why loving someone who's the same gender matters of you compliment the other. I've seen Fate and Nanoha, the head of the magical Department with each other: I couldn't imagine one without the other. But with Nura...you understand why that can't be. You've seen the two of them together: she's told me about Querl."

But Katara did touch her hand lightly. "I'm sorry."

Reimi nodded, still a little pink in the cheeks as she absorbed what Katara said. "I know. And it's real love between them. I couldn't try to get between that. Besides, I wouldn't be able to stand Querl anyhow."

She giggled just a little as she took a sip of tea and set it down, placing her hand on Katara's. "Thanks though, for understanding. I don't have too many friends and I'm afraid my... um, bisexuality, will chase them away."

Reimi sighed. "I've seen them before. They are incredibly pretty. Although I never got a chance to talk to them. I suppose it means I should find someone I like a lot to be honest. Someone I can be more open about my feelings with."

"I knew you would see that," Katara said. She hadn't actually seen it, but she did notice the change in Nura from when Querl hadn't been here to now. She could also see that there was hurt from Reimi too, a quiet pain that, while it was understanding, still thrived. Katara knew that all too well.

She laughed a little. "Well, if Querl is anything like Braniac, I think I might understand that. They're not exactly the warmest people I know. But I don't think anyone should be chased away by something like bisexuality. Being that means you can see something wonderful in both sexes, so why is that so awful?"

Katara nodded. "I always thought so too, and they're incredibly smart and dedicated to helping others. They work very well together and have very big hearts. And I agree, yes. It's the only way you can find something you can call your own. With a person like that, after awhile it just clicks together."

Reimi blushed a little. "It's just my culture really, but I agree. It's good to be open with your emotions when it comes down to it."

She blushed deeply. "Thanks Katara. I'm happy to call you a friend. And I'm glad you have so much faith in me finding a guy or girl."

"And really, I have to say you give the best advice." she added happily.

"Where I'm from, one of the most important things are the bonds you build around you. My people are small, and we've seen war too: yet we stick together, protect each other always. That kind of devotion goes the same whenever any couple become close to each other in that way. "

Katara herself felt flattered. "I'm learning, just like anyone else in the ship. But I am happy to offer advice if asked, and I really don't mind making new friends!"

It would take her a moment later to realize how few girls her age were friends.

"Well I can't see why anyone wouldn't. You're smart, pretty, and you've obviously can show someone things they'd never seen before. There are so many people on this ship: how can someone not seek you out?"

Reimi did redden completely at that, ducking her head and reddening completely at Katara's compliments. It was no wonder Matt liked her: she was smart, pretty, and fun to be around. "I guess I spend way too much time in the hangar. I should use the city a little more than I could be. Get out and see more people and all."

"And it's always nice to girl chat with girls my age," added Reimi with a light giggle.

Katara nodded. "Well, there's nothing wrong with working n that ship of yours! I wish I had the ability to do something like that, but I guess I'll be more useful for other things like healing and fighting. But there ARE plenty of places to visit in the City, and again, the Outsiders are always looking for people to hang with, whether you join or not."

She smiled. "Actually, I was sort of thinking of that myself. I don't have a lot of girls my age to talk with, and I'd be happy to see you wherever you are now and hang and gossip."

"I'll definitely come visit more often then," said Reimi. "And then we could also go to my world and I can show you what my Earth is like in the future. Apparently Stacy still has the files on my world and I can load simulations. We could go shopping and do girl stuff in the future. I know SD 772 is beautiful."

Well, BEFORE the attack by the 4D universes' invincible programs.

"Or we could go visit the rustic world of Roak, or the beautiful sight that is Tetragenesis...!" Reimi was growing happy with the prospect of having fun just doing normal things.

Katara smiled. This was exactly what he had wanted to do with Nura, and she figured she would be able to do that with her eventually, but now that she'd be with Querl, she could see that happening a little less. Getting to know Reimi would be just as good though: so far she seemed like a pretty neat girl.

"That sounds great! I actually got to go on and off world mission and got to do all this shopping with Nura, it was one of the most fun times I had! But those other places you mentioned: what are they like? How do they look?"

"They're all beautiful in their own way." said Reimi eagerly. "Roak has open plains and stone-and-brick buildings, very rustic with lots of good people in it. Their food is amazing, and you can see the various races around there."

"Tetragenesis on the other hand is a beautiful ocean-world, where people live above and blow the water, depending on where you go. Their main city of Genesis is built on a spire of waterfalls," added Reimi. "I'm sure you'd love that."

"That sounds like the difference between the Earth nation Kingdom and the Water tribe of my world. Now you definitely have my attention! I know I won't be able to have any lasting food there, not with the limitations of the Sensoriums, but it will definitely be a fun time! I can't wait to try it."

She'd hold her tongue about Tetragenesis of course: it was obvious which the water tribe girl would want to visit first. She couldn't hide the glee on her face though: if there was something one could say about Katara, there was no hiding her feelings about her native element. "And we can go dancing! I haven't done that in such a long time!"

"Oh we could! I know that there's an amazing resort planet in SD 772 that we could visit. It's got the most amazing dance floors," gushed Reimi, delighted at the prospect.

"We could definitely have a lot of fun with that! Or oooh, Tetragenesis's under water dance floors! They use Symbology to generate a air pocket around you and your partner, and you can dance as much as you want like you were swimming!"

"Oh yes, excellent! I actually had a Master that danced so well, you would have loved to see it. She had these fluid movements that looked as if she were dancing with the wind! But dancing like that, in Tetragenesis, that sounds amazing! We totally HAVE to do that!"

As if to demonstrate the dancing, she cleared the spot a moment and quietly tried to recreate the way she had seen Sheeana dance that first day she met her. She knew it wouldn't be anywhere NEAR what Sheeana could do: Sheeana, after all, knew the weirding way, and Katara hadn't even gotten far. But Katara had watched her teacher closely and could mimic the quick movements, the sort of fast seduction in the dance where she pivoted, turned and largely switched from the movement of her hips to the quickness of her feet. This was complimented with her upper body movement, twirling her arms and head in conjunction with the rest of her body.

She danced for three minutes, and when she finally finished off with a flip that ended with a split, she turned to Reimi, breathing hard but smiling.

"What do you think?"

Reimi watched and when Katara was done, she clapped with a brilliant smile. "That was so elegant! I loved watching it!" And it kind of made Reimi's throat go dry, and she gulped down tea to moisten her lips. It was undeniably hot in the way she moved and Reimi couldn't help but think that if she showed her boyfriend that, they'd be rustling in the sheets by now.

"I've never seen anything like it. Do you think you could teach me that?"

Katara smiled. "I've tried hard to get even as good as that was, and its still pales in comparison. Still, if I can learn anything from it, its that dancing is a great way of showing the wonder of music. To do that underwater, that just sounds amazing! I'm really glad you liked it."

Of course, by now she was pretty sweaty, so she couldn't imagine she was a peach right now. "Actually, I think I could use a towel myself," she said. She walked over to her own kind of tea and drank gratefully.

"It's really good!" she said.

"It looks very involved. The full-body movement and everything about it seems like it would take a long time to master," agreed Reimi as she calmed her heart that was racing. Damn, seriously. That was the most intense looking dance she had ever seen.

Reimi wondered briefly if the person who taught it to here had it originate from a seduction technique cause it had a very eye-drawing look to it. "It's a good blend," added Reimi thoughtfully.

"Doing it under water is such a show. I watched one in the sensoriums and it was just beautiful."

"Oh, it did. Even with what I knew about martial arts and bending, it took a lot of teaching and mastering to be able to do what I can now, and even then I'm doing it no justice. But now that I can do it like this, I know that her teaching didn't go to waste."

She noticed, however, that Reimi looked a little put out? "Are you all right? I'm sorry if I got a little too close to breaking something of Nura's. My apologies!"

Yes, Katara is still pretty bad at detecting something like attractive dancing, even with being able to notice most emotions from other people.

"You'll have to show me!" gushed Katara. "Oh, this will be so much fun! I haven't enjoyed myself like this in ages! It...actually makes me forget about what happened earlier today."

Reddening, Reimi hung her head. "Well um... it's just that even though its a dance it um... it makes you look very... seductive when you do that. I mean, I could barely tear my eyes away from your hips."

She bowed low. "Sorry! B-but I think that's what the originators had in mind...!"

She nodded a little at the last bit. "It'll be good to relax for a while."

Reimi swallowed as she ducked her head, reddening hotly. "Well um... that dance. It's very... seductive. The way you moved, I could barely keep my eyes off you."

"Sorry! B-but I think that's what the creators had in mind to be honest..."

She nodded a little more. "The Tetragenesis women are so elegant and mysterious. They have a third eye as well that is said to see into the future, which is why they're known as prophets and seers."
