Not exactly my style... [OPEN]
On the rare occasions when his life called for something more formal than a loud shirt and pants with grease stains, Wash didn't mind looking formal. But there was something different about a nice suit and a uniform like this.
Wash kept tugging at the sleeves as he walked through Stacy's corridors - Rein's tailoring was perfect, it wasn't like they were too short. It just felt restricting, in a way Wash wasn't really used to. The duty uniforms were less stiff, but he couldn't deny that the dress uniforms looked good.
He wondered what Zoe would have thought if she could see him in it. Would she like it? More likely she'd tease him for going so law-abiding and buttoned up.
((OOC: Here is Wash all shiny in green.))

"I see you've been to see Rein as well."

She did do good work, it just wasn't Wash's favorite thing in the world to wear.

"She's certainly bubbly, that's for sure. And she does excellent work. Probably the most comfortable dress uniform I've ever worn."

"Good to meet you, Wash. Commander Wedge Antilles, CO of Rogue Squadron."

"That, very, uh...green."
Weird outfit and he'd seen some weird outfits on board.
"I say this as someone who very often wears green. It's just really...green. One might say exceedingly green."
The little guy might just be ragging on your clothes, Wash.
It was good-natured though. He got the vague impression it was a uniform of some kind, especially since General Chacon had announced uniforms, and thus wondered why anyone would pick that color for multiple people to have to wear.

"I think the point is to be striking and recognizable, you know," Wash said. "It's kind of the purpose of this whole uniform thing, you walk down the hallway and people say 'oh hey that guy is a pilot,' it's a good thing."
no subject
"Or you walk down the hallway and they say, 'oh hey that guy is a walking cabbage.'"

Wash crossed his arms, raising his eyebrow at the kid.

It's a good thing that the uniform is so distinctive, as it's that flash of green that alerts him to Wash's presence early enough that he's able to step to the side and avoid walking into the other man.
"Oh, sorry. I almost didn't see ye there," he says, apologetically. He's finding it hard to look away from the uniform now that he's noticed it, however. That's very, very green.

He glanced down at the chanter. "What's that?"
no subject
He offers it out for a better look. It looks more or less like a lot of other woodwind instruments, just slightly narrower in shape in the lower half of the instrument. It also gives him a chance to continue to look at the uniform.
"Ye know, I've not seen anything quite like that before," he says, with a nod at the jacket. "Is it something from where ye come from?"
no subject
He plucked at his uniform, tugging the tunic down to straighten it. "This? These are the new uniforms of Starfighter Command. General Chacon decided we needed them and - well let's just say we've learned not to argue with her."

Yuck.
So here she was, minding her own and half-hopping down the hallway when a flash of green caught her attention. It took her a moment to register that there was a person in that green, and another to realize it was her pilot. Wash. In a uniform.
Kaylee fought back the urge to bust out laughing and gave Wash a grin instead. "Lookin' like you're ready for duty, sir."

He had a sideways, self-deprecating smile on his face because hey, he knew it wasn't what anyone who knew him was used to. He'd seen himself in the mirror and thought he looked unsettling at best.

She couldn't help but tease. He just looked so much like he belonged on a Cruiser. Zoe would be getting a kick out of this...
"And if you really wanna get technical, you're flyin' the two coolest ships on this boat. Just one of 'em ain't so much flyin' right now as she is playin' house 'n home."
no subject
He grinned at her, his face going fond as it always did when he thought of Serenity. "She was always house and home, just tended to be more mobile."

He was on his way to the hangar to check some things with the Impala, and maybe catch up with Kaylee again, before he noticed the guy with red hair in green.
Dean tried to hide the amused snort, or at least, he'll swear he tried to hide it.
no subject
"Careful, you do that to General Chacon and she might pop you in the face. She's less patient than me."
no subject
Ok maybe not so much which explains why the two kind of got along.
He held up his hands at that, "Oh dude, don't I know it. I know better than to cross Trudy." Other people are fair game though.
no subject
Something about this guy looked familiar, but he couldn't quite place it.

He offered his hand. If she was going to poke fun at him, at least they could get acquainted first.
