Drinking it up

Well, Ruffnut would be anyway. Hit Girl couldn't and definitely wouldn't drink anything alcoholic: as far as she knew, drinking dulled the senses, and that was something she couldn't afford. Maintaining the persona of two different people on the ship was no easy job, and it required her remembering herself and what she could and could not say.

Instead, she'd save a spot for her sparring partner to pop over and talk and converse. If the barmaid came over, she guessed she could order a soda or something. If anyone else wanted to converse with a ten year old girl wearing a superhero outfit though, they were more than welcome.

"Comic book?" Ruffnut looked quizzical at the term.

Then she giggled, "Hot for teacher huh? Hoping to get a little "Special" training on the side?" Her words were laced with mirth and encouragement.

"Ohhh! I like the books with pictures better." Ruffnut confessed to a truth that most people would have been able to guess "Wait so like, in your world are stories? Legends?"

Ruffnut purred at Hitgirl's confidence, "Innocent boys can be fun, but they gotta have a wild side for my taste. Something dangerous ya know? Someone who can..." She paused to think about it, "Who can keep up with me."

"Well good, he better be powerful." Her drink was refilled and she took a swig before finishing, "Where I come from? Girl like you? Totally woulda been fought over." She paused and added, "When you're older...little bit older then I am now. And in the end? We all know who really makes the choice." It was almost an impish delight she took in the idea of boys fighting as if they had any say in their own lives. Behind every strong Viking man, a strong viking woman was making sure he didn't mess up.

Ruffnut roared out a hearty cheers to agree with Hitgirl and smacked her mug back with enthusiasm, getting some of the foam from her drink on the table. She drank deep pleased with herself. And pleased with Hitgirl. It was strange to be happy for someone she hadn't known all her life (Read: Astrid, Hiccup, her brother) but she had to admit, she could get to like it.

Ruffnut made a rude sound with her lips in exasperation, "Nope. Haven't even found any guys worth hanging out with other then like...the Overlord and he's not even really a guy." She shrugged, "Their loss." She added.

"I'm not in a hurry." She tilted her helmet back with a smile, "Guys as a rule are stupid. When a really cool one comes along I'll see him a mile away~"

Still this did bring up something that Ruffnut hadn't considered before. Outside of her viking friends...hit girl and the overlord she didn't really hang out with anyone. She spent most of her every day sleeping and running around.

"And Odin knows we're gonna be here for awhile." There was a laugh, "I probably should get out more. Back home it was always like, the five of us. Me and Tuffnut, Snotlout, Fishlegs, and Astrid. We played together, trained together, worked together...oh and there was Hiccup too but he was a total loser for most of it."

"Eventually yeah. I guess I'll need minions." She grinned a silly grin, "I'll have them carry me around silently like Zetta does...or I'll make them laugh evilly for me." She winked.

Ruffnut responded with a loud and proud evil laugh that drew some stares which she promptly ignored.

"You got that right!"

Ruffnut looked like she had to think hard about this one. It took a minute. She even took another draft from her drink while she played back her memories.

"I guess so yeah. I mean...if I could go back and do something over I'd totally screw up less in dragon training, and I'd have pounced on Hiccup before Astrid." She shook her head to clear it, "But I'm happy with how things turned out in the end so maybe not."

Ruffnut was learning more about Hitgirl every couple of drinks it seemed, "Kick ass?" She asked curiously.

"Wait...blamed him or blamed you?" Ruffnut had heard about people feeling guilty when a loved one died. Astrid went through it when she was young. Hiccup and his father both as well though for different reasons.
