There's Snow Place Like Home [Bendytimed to between the Ohm simulation and the Second Life plot]
A recent walk through the hangar had confirmed to Jamie that the TARDIS had been put back into whatever place it was that Stacy stored ships when their owners were in the pods. Overall, it didn't make too much difference - none of them had been able to get into it anyway. Still, he had liked to slip away from time to time just to take a look at it and remember the adventures he had gone on with the Doctor. Part of him had been hoping somehow that it would have stayed somewhere where he could do that again. Even though he hadn't really admitted it to his friends, he missed the Time Lord not being around.
So it may not come as much of a surprise that the Sensoriums currently has a TARDIS in it. The wide expanse of snow surrounding it might be a little more unusual, but it does provide an easy way to figure out where the current creator of this particular scenario would be - should anyone care to follow the Jamie-sized footprints to the door of the seemingly blue wooden box. If not, well, there's a lot of the white stuff just sitting around waiting for someone to do something with it.
((OOC: Jamie is in the TARDIS if you want to pester him but if for some reason anyone wants to just use the setting for their own-snow related threads, feel free. Just mention somewhere if you're going in the TARDIS or if you want Jamie to come outside.))

"Oh, just a wee bit. There's the wardrobe and kitchens, and the laborat...er, never mind about that. Ah, what else? Well, there's the library, I suppose..." Or the pool, or the gallery, or at least half a dozen other places to choose.
"It'll take longer than I have to show ye it all, Alex."
no subject
"W-wait, y-you have a wardrobe room? A-and laboratory?" He couldn't imagine the Doctor having a laboratory anything like the laboratories he grew up in, so of course he was curious what it might have been.
no subject
"Aye, although it's not so big as all that." It's not really clear which of the two rooms Jamie's referring to, but he does push himself off of the wall and heads for the exit.
"Come on, I'll show ye."

Granted, that's exactly what has happened on more than one occasion, but while Jamie is perfectly capable of dropping off while sitting in a chair that does not mean it's his preferred method of sleeping. He catches that note of jealousy, however, and tries to downplay things a little.
"They're not much to look at, mind ye. A wee bit less fleshy than Stacy, but still just a place with a bed ye can sleep in."
The walk has taken them to a new location, one with a single door that Jamie pulls open, gesturing for Alex to proceed him inside. It's the laboratory - and, for once, Jamie wasn't really downplaying the size of the room. It looks as though it would only fit a few people, as most of the space is taken up with shelves lined with scientific equipment, along with the usual vials and test tubes and other apparatus one would use here. There's a microscope on a table, with a what looks like a large fish tank next to it, with some sort of canisters attached to it an a gauge of some sort above those.
"I told ye it's not so big," Jamie says, letting the door stay open for now. "Mind ye don't knock anything over in here. I'm not sure Stacy's not filled some of these beakers with something to make it more real."

He straightens and moves onto the fish-tank-thing. Of course, he needs to ask, "i-is this a f-fish tank?" Alien ship. You could never be too sure.
no subject
Then it returns to normal, and he adds dryly, "But, aye, you're right. I knew perfectly well it was a fish tank, too. He just wanted to give it some fancy name to make it sound impressive."
Or to tease Jamie with. That's always a possibility, too. "He did use it a lot for his experiments, though."
no subject
"Wh-what sorts of experiments?"

He still remembers working with the Doctor and Victoria in here, trying to figure out why the seaweed was reacting the way it was. It was just before Victoria had left, and there's a small pang even now as he thinks about her. It's easier to turn his attention back to Alex, so he does.
"It turns out it was a bit of some weed creature that lived off of the stuff, so it wound up growing and attacking us."
Sorry about the lateness. It was later than I expected when I got back last night :X
He peered into the container as Jamie spoke, but jumped back a bit when Jamie mentioned attacking, almost as if he expected something to attack him. He straightened, a bit red over his own jumpiness, and said, "W-well, th-that's n-not exactly th-the best of things! Th-there's a lot of w-weird things out there."
Quite alright. Not like I'm fast either.
"That's the one thing about traveling with the Doctor, aye? Ye never know where you'll wind up...or what beastie you'll run into."
Or, a lot of the times, away from. There is a lot of running, after all.
<3
He thought on his own life in New York. It wasn't exactly boring, far from it, really, but it didn't involve any beasties.
"S-so, there's a l-library h-here too?"
no subject
He nods. "There is, yes. Did ye want to go take a look?"
orz I had a few fail days... sorry.
Alex nodded enthusiastically. "I-I'd love to!"

The library looks...well, like a library. Shelves of books of different shapes and sizes, a table and chairs to sit at while you read, extra lighting and so on. Jamie, looking a little bored, sinks into one of the chairs. It's not one of the places he goes to very often. He's perfectly capable of reading when he wants to, mind you. The fact is, however, he would much rather be fighting than looking through musty old books.
He doesn't begrudge Alex the chance to look around, though. That's what the pipette is for. He idly starts moving it between the fingers of one hand.
"I think there's an index somewhere telling ye what's here, but good luck finding it."
no subject
Unfortunately, most of the books meant absolutely nothing to Alex. There were a few titles that sounded familiar, but that was about it. He grew bored before long and wandered back to Jamie, "N-no luck with the i-index... So, wh-what o-other sorta r-rooms are there?"
no subject
While he can't show Alex everything, he's able to get in a few more places before he has to excuse himself and head to Engineering for his next shift.
They can always tackle the rest some other day.
