Crunch Time

Those heading to the sensorium after Commander Rahk's announcement would find themselves inside a rather technologically advanced looking base, a number of armored soldiers bustling about.

Rahk himself was there, standing in front of a command station with a large screen overlooking the waiting battlefield outside, which appeared to be the ruins of some advanced city. By the serious look on his face, he was certainly ready to get this test underway.

At her side, before drawing her mace, Nehaalista signed, [I'll keep their attention diverted.] Her necklace kept her new "voice" quiet. [Can I depend on you to cover me?]

Daja was intensely glad for Nehaa's necklace - she'd been trying to learn the signs, but her knowledge of the language was still woefully inadequate. "Of course, Nehaa," she reassured her.

She focused her magic, bringing the metal barricades around to shield Nehaa, angling it so that Nehaa could attack but would be protected from the bulk of the enemy's fire.

Sort of like a holy shield, but not quite, Nehaalista thought to herself with amusement. Still there were grunts to kill, and she listened to the instructions being made over the comm rings as she continued to bash and bash and crack grunts open with her mace.

Good ol' mace. She threw her shield into a group of three of them, and dazed them as they stumbled over on rickety legs to her.

Still, as experienced as she was, Nehaalista couldn't watch all of her sides, all of the time.

Daja's magic moved her metal barricades around Nehaa, to wherever the oncoming horde was greatest. But she couldn't cover all directions either - she only had so much metal to work with, and she couldn't move them too fast.

So when one grunt had managed to get around behind Nehaa Daja moved forward, bringing the end of her staff up to smash in the grunt's head.
