Strange Visitors

||Mission complete,|| Stacy's voice rang out through the ship. ||Obs deck returning.||

The mission was a success, and so the away team returned, and the Obs Deck was back in it's proper place.

But, this time, they came back with a few more visitors.

Among the returning crew members stood three strange aliens. There was the ever-dour Revus Lod, the energetic Ippli, and the stoic Commander Rahk.

The Lensmen commander looked around at his surroundings, his expression rather inscrutable at the moment.

Anyone want to say hi to the new arrivals?

"Greetings," Rahk replied. "I'm Commander Rahk of the Lensmen, and these are Revus and Ippli."

"I presume that the crew that you encountered treated you fairly." Superman said, nodding towards the three. "Though, you mentioned 'Lensmen'. What exactly is that?"

Sounds eerily familiar... he thought.

"It's a small organization established by the GIA. It operates independently, using the Lenses to patrol and defend the GIA as we see fit."

Rahk holds up his hand, showing off the semi-transparent disk-like device on the back of his hand."

Just as he thought...

"Interesting. It sound like a group I've encountered in my universe. Ever heard of the Green Lantern Corps?"

[identity profile] armsraced.livejournal.com 2010-11-30 04:26 am (UTC)(link)
"Ah, them," Rahk says. "There are a number of Pre-Bleed organizations that resemble the Lensmen in a number of universes. There's been some research done on the phenomenon."

Now, things were getting interesting. Though, something did stick out in that statement.

"It seems that a lot of worlds are like that." Superman replied. "Though, you just said 'Pre-Bleed'. What do you mean by that?"

[identity profile] armsraced.livejournal.com 2010-11-30 04:58 am (UTC)(link)
"Pre-macro-multiversal travel," he answers. "Some might have the ability to reach nearby realities, but they don't have the ability to really travel the Bleed for any significant distance."

"I see..." he mused. Indeed, something like that was unheard of on that scale - he traveled across the Bleed before after the whole mess with the Brainiacs that practically erased B13 and his tech, but not as he was describing. Part of them wanted to go further, to try to ask about perhaps the Ohm, but he was probably in the same position as they were - not knowing much.

Time for a change of gears, then.

"I presume you know about the Daligig. We don't know much about them beyond what we were told when some of the earlier crew finally contacted them... just what exactly is their purpose in the whole scheme of things?"

[identity profile] armsraced.livejournal.com 2010-11-30 11:30 pm (UTC)(link)
"Well, that's a...vague question really. The Daligig are sort of the head of interdimensional civilization. It's said they're one of the first races to reach Bleed-level society, and they were the ones who originally established the GIA."

"They're very influential, though there's really a lot people don't know about them. They don't really interact with outsiders often. Is there anything specific about them you want to know?"
