Strange Visitors

||Mission complete,|| Stacy's voice rang out through the ship. ||Obs deck returning.||

The mission was a success, and so the away team returned, and the Obs Deck was back in it's proper place.

But, this time, they came back with a few more visitors.

Among the returning crew members stood three strange aliens. There was the ever-dour Revus Lod, the energetic Ippli, and the stoic Commander Rahk.

The Lensmen commander looked around at his surroundings, his expression rather inscrutable at the moment.

Anyone want to say hi to the new arrivals?

"On patrol?" She looked curious. "So you and your people are aware of the existence and threat of the Ohm?"

This both intrigued and worried Dhianeila. Perhaps this crossing of paths could be a great thing. But if these beings were from a universe not connected to others like they on Stacy were ... the Ohm appearing could put it in danger.

"Of course we are," Revus said, rolling his eyes. "Everyone in the GIA knows about them."

"Don't be an ass, Revus," Rahk commented.

"I apologize for the assumption, sir. You see," she continued, "we who awakened on this ship had no prior knowledge of their existence before we were attacked. Until now, I have not personally met others outside of our crew who knew of them. Are you in a similar situation as we are, then?"

[identity profile] armsraced.livejournal.com 2010-11-30 03:28 am (UTC)(link)
"No," Rahk replied, "As part of the Transmigration Project, you were all saved from fallen Pre-Bleed worlds to fight the Ohm, but we're from the Greater Interdimensional Alliance."

[identity profile] dhianeila.livejournal.com 2010-11-30 03:36 am (UTC)(link)
"Greater Interdimensional Alliance? A Project? If you don't mind, can you explain these terms to me at a bit more depth?"

The names were enough to give her a slight idea of things ... but it was a lot to grasp. Especially since different universes were in fact something she was used to ... only those universes were created by the Tribe of Gold ... and though their power had been passed to the Tribe of Silver in her own universe ... could this 'Greater Interdimensional Alliance' be their successors for another universe? The thought of this excited her on the inside, but she kept herself calm.

"The GIA is the primary power in the multiverse," Rahk explained. "It was established several millenia ago by the Daligig with the help of several lesser alliances. As for the Transmigration Project, it was an effort by the Daligig to help fight the Ohm. This ship, and a number of others like it, were that project."

[identity profile] dhianeila.livejournal.com 2010-11-30 04:05 am (UTC)(link)
"The power of the universes..." she trailed off, wondering if she should ask. Well, better to try than wonder about it later if they were to part with these beings. "If that is the case, I wonder if you are aware of the Tribe of Gold? Where I am from, they are the ones with the power that extend beyond just one universe."

She had many more questions, but decided to tackle them one at a time.

"Tribe of Gold?" Ippli asks curiously.

"Sounds like some type of Ascended," Revus replied. "There are a number of them around, but they're all typically mysterious and keep to themselves."

[identity profile] dhianeila.livejournal.com 2010-11-30 04:45 am (UTC)(link)
"They certainly do that where I'm from. So maybe they're part of this 'Ascended' category."

If that was the case, the people they were dealing with were no doubt extremely important to their mission. "What is the Transmigration Project? I'm afraid we don't have any of the Daligig aboard anymore, and we're not sure why they took their leave."

[identity profile] armsraced.livejournal.com 2010-11-30 05:13 am (UTC)(link)
"The Transmigration Project is the Daligig's last ditch effort to stop the Ohm by rescuing who they can from Pre-Bleed worlds, particularly Chosen, to help fight the Ohm."

[identity profile] dhianeila.livejournal.com 2010-11-30 05:27 am (UTC)(link)
"Chosen..." she repeated, closing her eyes in thought for a moment. I was chosen. And though she still hadn't quite found her way ... though she had her own limitations and inabilities for many things that others were capable of ... I'll do my best. No matter what.

"Are there other ships with those like us, then? And the Daligig ... did they leave for a reason?"

That bothered her the most, especially hearing the term 'last ditch'. If the Daligig left them for no reason, was that effort futile?

[identity profile] armsraced.livejournal.com 2010-11-30 05:37 am (UTC)(link)
"There were at least 10 ships, but all of them disappeared somehow. Besides this one, we've only found two others, in the same situation you're in. As for why there are no Daligig left on board, no one knows, but we think it probably has to do with the same reason the ships disappeared in the first place. The Daligig High Command have been doing their best to find you and the others, though."

[identity profile] dhianeila.livejournal.com 2010-11-30 05:42 am (UTC)(link)
"I'm glad." The fact that they were trying to find them was a good sign, but Dhianeila wondered what could have happened to the other ships, as well as the whys when it came to why they were left to their own devices.

"May I have your names?"

[identity profile] armsraced.livejournal.com 2010-11-30 06:00 am (UTC)(link)
"I'm Commander Rahk, and these are Revus and Ippli."

[identity profile] dhianeila.livejournal.com 2010-11-30 06:07 am (UTC)(link)
"Commander, Revus, Ippli," she repeated with a smile, bowing once again. "Thank you for your help. I, as well as the entirety of the crew appreciate not only your assistance down on the planet's surface, but that you've taken the time to come aboard this ship and are being more than kind enough when it comes to answering the many questions you are receiving."

Straightening up again, she put on a slightly more determined look. "If there is anything we can do for you in return, please do not hesitate to request it of us. I hope that there is a way we can work together to stop the Ohm from wreaking more havoc across these universes."
