Strange Visitors

||Mission complete,|| Stacy's voice rang out through the ship. ||Obs deck returning.||

The mission was a success, and so the away team returned, and the Obs Deck was back in it's proper place.

But, this time, they came back with a few more visitors.

Among the returning crew members stood three strange aliens. There was the ever-dour Revus Lod, the energetic Ippli, and the stoic Commander Rahk.

The Lensmen commander looked around at his surroundings, his expression rather inscrutable at the moment.

Anyone want to say hi to the new arrivals?

Rahk simply raises an eyebrow at that. He knew the other Transmigration ships they'd found were bad off, but he didn't know they were this bad.

"I'll answer what I can," he says.

"I appreciate that." Well, this was off to a good start, idiot teenage subordinate aside.

"For starters, what can you tell me about the GIA?"

[identity profile] armsraced.livejournal.com 2010-11-30 03:03 am (UTC)(link)
"Greater Interdimensional Alliance," he says. "It was established several millenia ago by the Daligig and several lesser interdimensional alliances that existed at the time. It's currently the primary power in the multiverse, though there are still plenty of territories it doesn't have jurisdiction over, particularly Pre-Bleed worlds like your own."

"There's a lot to tell about it, so you'll have to be a bit specific if there's more you want to know."
governmentninja: (Hmm...)

[personal profile] governmentninja 2010-11-30 03:15 am (UTC)(link)
There was a brief nod. "I'll come back to that momentarily.

"Can you tell us anything about what happened to cause the Daligig crew to abandon ship?"

[identity profile] armsraced.livejournal.com 2010-11-30 03:25 am (UTC)(link)
"I honestly don't know," he says, furrowing his brows. "All of the Transmigration Project ships disappeared somehow, and the other two that have been found were just like you, with no Daligig crew."
governmentninja: (Hrmm...)

[personal profile] governmentninja 2010-11-30 03:31 am (UTC)(link)
That was interesting, to say the least.

"What was the purpose of the Transmigration Project?"

[identity profile] armsraced.livejournal.com 2010-11-30 03:47 am (UTC)(link)
"From what I know, they wanted to save who they could from Pre-Bleed worlds that fell to the Ohm, particularly Chosen, and hopefully use them to help fight the Ohm. Kind of a last-ditch measure. There were about ten ships in all, but only 4, 7, and now 9 are all accounted for."
governmentninja: (Hrmm...)

[personal profile] governmentninja 2010-11-30 03:56 am (UTC)(link)
That fell in line with what little they knew so far. And, odds were that probing more into the past wouldn't give them much answers. The situation was what it was.

So, deal with the situation.

"Alright. But now that we are accounted for, what do you intend to do with us?" And here things had the potential to get rather tense.

[identity profile] armsraced.livejournal.com 2010-11-30 04:05 am (UTC)(link)
"I wanted to see your situation for myself," he replied. "You're pretty important to both the Daligig and the GIA as a whole, so it's important to make sure you're in fighting shape."

He looks around and sighs.

"Doesn't look like you have much to work with, though."

There was a pause from Leon as he thought about where to take this conversation next.

"Are you authorized to negotiate on behalf of the GIA?"

[identity profile] armsraced.livejournal.com 2010-11-30 04:39 am (UTC)(link)
"Are you kidding?" Revus said incredulously. "He's a flething hero. GIA High Command would do just about anything for him."

"He's exaggerating, really," Rahk interrupts, "But yes, I do have a good amount of pull with High Command."
governmentninja: (Leon)

[personal profile] governmentninja 2010-11-30 04:59 am (UTC)(link)
Revus got a flat look from Leon, who then looked back at Rahk. Dude, he feels your pain.

But, back to the matter at hand.

"Listen... this wasn't our first encounter with the Ohm, we've seen what they can do, and the devastation they leave behind. We're willing to help the GIA, but they're going to have to help us out in return."

[identity profile] armsraced.livejournal.com 2010-11-30 05:06 am (UTC)(link)
"Sounds like you have something more in mind than just supplies," Rahk said simply.
governmentninja: (Stern)

[personal profile] governmentninja 2010-11-30 05:11 am (UTC)(link)
To the point, then. "I need Stacy's command codes. All of them."

[identity profile] armsraced.livejournal.com 2010-11-30 05:23 am (UTC)(link)
That got a curious look from Rahk.

"That's asking a lot. Don't know if I can get you all of them, but I could probably get you a number of them. But in return, I have to ask something of you."
governmentninja: (Colorful)

[personal profile] governmentninja 2010-11-30 05:25 am (UTC)(link)
Well, nothing was free, after all.

"I'm listening."

[identity profile] armsraced.livejournal.com 2010-11-30 05:34 am (UTC)(link)
"I need to know you can do this. If you can prove to me you've got the potential to beat the Ohm, I'll get you a full commission as Stacy's captain. I know this ship has Sensoriums, so I propose we run a simulation. Your crew versus the Ohm, with you commanding the crew. If you win, you get what you want."

"Is that acceptable?"
governmentninja: (Stand Proud)

[personal profile] governmentninja 2010-11-30 05:43 am (UTC)(link)
Admittedly, part of him was going FUCK, FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK at the idea of putting his faith in this crew, but they all had to put their faith in each other if they had any hope of survival. So, without the slightest bit of hesitation, he answered, "We have a deal."

[identity profile] armsraced.livejournal.com 2010-11-30 05:57 am (UTC)(link)
At that, Rahk smiled slightly.

"Good. I'll get to work on it as soon as I get a chance. I'd suggest you get to work on your strategy."
