Recovery [Open!!]

It wasn't often that she got injured to the point where she was stuck in the med bay for more than a day. Steven managed to do a number on her though, and there was still things inside her that were fixing themselves. Her lung was still punctured, likely because there was probably a bone or something keeping it from actually closing.

As much as that hurt, what was really bothering Nanashi was being stuck in bed. At the very least her normal schedule didn't allow for free time, even if there wasn't an entire country hinging on it. As a result, she was slightly cranky and desperate for conversation.

She took a more shallow breath to speak this time, "Katara seemed honestly concerned about the boy, and he seemed like he was responding to being spoken to. I decided that for Katara I would do what-" she coughed a bit more before continuing- "what she would have done. It was the least I could do for failing to protect her."

They would be having some words during training about keeping one's guard up.

"Yeah, that would explain it," Zetta said, eyeing the woman thoughtfully. He just didn't understand that facet of her character in the slightest. "Uh, you want a heal spell? It won't get you up and moving but it might clear up that... you know, blood-spewing thing."

Nanashi raised an eye-brow. "The blood-spewing thing is the only thing keeping me here, unless Sam decides to do some sort of test and finds that there's still parts of me trying to cease being soup." If there was something like a piece of bone lodged in her lung still, then there were certainly still other things in places that they really shouldn't be.

"Man, you DID get yourself messed up, didn't you?" He looked at her, then grumbled, "Man, I wish I had my body back."

"It happens when your body heals itself very fast while you are being made flat underneath the claw of a monster. Your skin heals fast enough to keep things from oozing out." She licked her blood off her hand. There was no use wasting it, right?

"Now why do you want your body back?"

"So I could've kicked its ass," Zetta said, as if this were obvious. "Saved us all a lot of grief."

She sniffed a half-laugh, "Of course." If he did have his body and had more power with it like he said, then maybe he would have been able to. "Probably would have upset Katara if you killed it. Granted, I would not have been caught like I was if I had not been holding back.

"Pfft. Killing things is a waste of time. It's better to leave your victims alive so they have to LIVE with the knowledge that they got their asses kicked!"

That sounded more like the Nanashi he knew! Good.

"Killing things prevents them from coming back. It's the more sensible thing to do, since it prevents later fights. No wonder you lost your body, Overlord." She stifled another cough and grinned with her usual fanged smile.

"The one had nothing to do with the other." Zetta rolled his eyes. Well, she couldn't be feeling too bad if she was trying to bait him. "Besides, why would you wanna prevent later fights? What would you do once you beat everyone?"

"Then I would have my Utopia! I would be able to spend all of my time on the arts, on enjoying myself." She coughed a bit more before going on, "Besides, if I truly got bored, it is not terribly hard to make enemies."

"Oh, well, I guess for you. If I killed all the people who were a challenge for me, no one would be left around to give me any fun. What's the point of being the strongest Overlord in existence if you can't keep proving it?"

The arts? Nanashi has weird tastes. But then again, Zetta only really enjoyed himself when he was, well, being Zetta, with all that implied.

She coughed as Zetta spoke, but recovered in time to snap back, "You can find those who can challenge you in more than physical power- or Mana as you call it. Have you ever tried playing Shogi?"

Zetta blinked.

"What's a Shogi?"

"It is a game. A game that practices strategy and skill. Then again, I suppose you may not be smart enough to give anyone a challenge in such a game."

Baiting him isn't even working right now, Nanashi. Is he worried about you, or just used to it?

"You have your enjoyments, I have mine," he said. "I got to the top of the heap so I could lord it over people like Micky, not play checkers with him! ....Dryzen would probably cheat anyway," he added as an annoyed afterthought.

She began laughing, but then broke into a fit of coughing. When she began to recover she retorted, "I suppose not everyone is suited to such pass-times." Of course, the way she said that suggested an insult. "You would at the very lest always have me to fight with."

"See, now you get it!" Zetta said, proudly. "So long as I leave you alive, you can keep coming back better!"

Zetta, you are SO bad at evil.

She laughed and coughed more, "Percisely! So we can both take over the world, and I can enjoy my Utopia while you have a constant challenge." Well, at the very least she was securing herself power. That was the important thing.

"There's just one problem with that," Zetta said with a grin. "We'd never agree on which one of us was in charge."

"Easy," she said with a wave of her hand, "We'd continue arguing about it while we both maintained an equal amount of power."

"That works... but would you really WANT to share?" Zetta fixed her with a scrutinizing eye. "Or would you just be... secretly plotting my demise! Ha!"

"Of course I wouldn't want to share, but killing you would be too difficult and too messy. There are other ways to secure absolute control, and you might not even notice that I have!" She winked at him with a smile that said she already had multiple plans in mind.

"Hyaaaa ha ha ha ha! Well, so long as you've got plans!" Zetta grinned back at her.

Then, apropos of absolutely nothing, he said, "You know, your name pisses me off."

She looked surprised and opened her mouth to talk, but instead began coughing again, covering her mouth with one hand and gripping the sheets with the other.

Between coughs she sputtered, "Why?"
