Vita, still dressed in a strange dress that actually was magical armor, was exploring the ship.

In other words, what looked like a kid with a weird fashion sense, armed only with a criquet mallet, was walking alone through possibly dangerous terrain. What could go wrong there?

To be more precise, she was actually not exploring, but looking for wherever Hayate was now. She knew her mistress was on the ship, after all.

"Oi, Hayate." She tried to send telepathically, through the link, though she wasn't sure if this would work here.
The ship sure was big...

"But I'm so happy to see you!" exclaimed Rein as she hugged Vita gently. "Did you just get released from the pods?"

She wanted to hug Vita a lot considering the week she was having. "Has Hayate shown up? She's around here somewhere."

"Y-yeah, I just came out of that slime hole, yuck. And the stuff Nanoha told me about this place weren't great, either."

Yeah, Vita wasn't liking those a bit. Mid-Childa being destroyed... thus, Rein wasn't rebuffed, and the fairy was free to hug Vita.

"Haven't seen her yet, so I decided to look for her." She coughed. Rein probably had guessed that already.

"It isn't," admitted Rein. "But it's home for the time being. And it's what you make of it, right?"

"Mmm, Hayate comes and goes. She's everywhere, but we've got a place at the Bus. When the situation down in the City clears up, we can go there."

"I guess. I just wish I knew all the others were safe for sure."

Zafira and Shamal. Signum at least was known to be back in those pods.

"That sounds like her. What situation in the city, though?"

Vita hadn't heard of the rage disease, yet.

"Same here. I know that we've had a few friends go back into the pods, but if their souls are unstable, well..." she let it trail off a little, not wanting anyone's soul to fall out.

"There's a viral outbreak, people are going nuts. I had to haul Kal to the quarantine zone after I beat him with a magical Volkswagen Beetle." explained Rein. "He was going crazy with his heat vision and what not."

"Well, at least we know they are safe in the pods, for now."
Or so she hoped. There better not be people trying to attack the pods.

"Sounds like you did quite well, Rein. Good job." Vita sounded sincere there. "Guess all you can do in such a case is knock them out and hope the medics manage a cure in time."

"Yeah, that's a good thing." Rein decided not to mention the whole Shiva thing either. Knowing that being in the pods didn't exactly mean "safe" was a good thing at all.

"Ah heheh.... well I was just lucky that Kal wasn't himself or I'd have been turned into a speck of dust," admitted Rein. "He isn't known as Superman for nothing."

"Superman?" Vita scratched her head. She hadn't heard of someone like that before, but oh well. "As long as you squashed him good, all's fine, right?"

"Well I hope I didn't hurt him too badly," admitted Rein. "I mean, I hit him pretty hard but uh..." She rubbed her head. "At least I got him to medical. I worry about him and all."

Vita, applying Nanoha logic to other people is forbidden.

"I'm sure he'll recover. Zafira shrugged off worse attacks than the one you described, and you made him sound dangerous and stuff, so he probably won't be bedridden too long. I'm sure he'll do fine."

Vita tried to pad the little Rein(zwei) on the head awkwardly.

Though with Superman it kinda works

"Yeah but..." Rein pouted a little when she was awkwardly patted on the head. She really was worried since she had read a few comic books before and knew Superman had a weakness to magic. "Yeah. In any case, I have a clothing shop down on Main. I can show it to you when the all clear is sounded."

"I have your favorite outfit made?" she added hopefully, in order to get Vita to comply.

"Uhm, okay..."

Vita didn't point out that, technically, her favorite outfit was the one she was wearing right now. But well, since Hayate did like them to wear different ones once in a while...
