Ever since exposing GLaDOS's true function, Claire was starting to remember people she'd forgotten. It was kind of weird, some things had clicked back into place immediately, but others had taken time to recall. And since she became aware of it, there was a constant feeling on the edge of her mind that she was still missing something and it was important, but she just couldn't get a grasp on it.

That, of course didn't stop her from trying. She was determined to remember what it was, even if it didn't seem like Stacy quite wanted her to. All this excess thinking left her wandering around with a slightly spaced out look, however, and she'd been more than a little distracted. So when she was interacting with the kids in her class she had to push it back, which made it harder for her to try to get a hold on it, again.

So, anyone happening to wander through hydroponics may come across Claire sitting in one of her favorite spots, back up against a tree. She's half watching Boon run around and throwing a ball for him, but for the most part she's off in her own world.

To virtually anyone else, he would answer that it wasn't that big of a deal, or that there were other things to worry about. But he wasn't going to give her the brush off.

"I knew who you were, and everything that happened to us, until sometime after Harvardville. I knew you had to have given that to me. But, for the life of me, I couldn't remember when you did or why." And that had really annoyed the hell out of him. "So I ended up staring at it for a while, trying to remember, and wondering why it felt like there was this massive hole in my soul. It was like I didn't know we were dating, but I knew how much I was in love with you, if that makes any sense."

He furrowed his brows a bit as he remembered. It was a very unsettling feeling, in all honesty.

"The, of course, shit happened and I had other things to distract me for a while, until you and the others finally returned."

She nodded her head slowly, not saying anything for a moment. She'd heard about what had happened while they'd been facing down with GLaDOS, of course, and it was still kind of tragic to think about. They'd lost a lot of people, but that didn't make it any less awful whenever they did. She wasn't going to dwell on it, though.

"...Hole in your soul, huh?" She raised her eyebrows at him, a hint of a smirk on her lips.

He looked over at her, and tried not to smile.

"Yeah... but only a little one," he teased.

"Only a little one?" she echoed back at him, tilting her head to the side while her face settled into a half-attempt at serious thoughtfulness.

"I don't know if I should be offended by that or not."
