[Open to Members of Security]
Fate really, really wanted to just head straight back to her room, take a long shower, then huddle up in a corner somewhere. She felt incredibly unclean, and she was starting to feel a bit tired, but that was pushed aside for now. There were more important things to do now. They had to bring justice to a girl who tried to use another person for a horrible purpose... a purpose that still made Fate's stomach turn.
So anyone inside the Precinct will notice three people entering: the first was Fate, clad in her Barrier Jacket with a cut and singed cheek, Kon, who also sported a few burned cuts on his arms, and Mei-Xing, whose hands were bound behind her with yellow energy.
Yep. We've got a bit of a Situation, guys.

"We found out that Pointy-Ears here has a person held captive in some kind of medical tank in a building in the city. We couldn't unhook her because of the risk, but we figured it might be a bad idea to leave the evil Elf there with her. When she caught us snooping and we told her we were bringing this whole thing to Security, she attacked us with magic. Rather than waiting for you to come there, we just brought her here."

"A hostage?" And injured apparently. As Chief of Security, Samus' first responsibility was to keep everyone safe on the ship, meaning she had to one, make sure Mei-Xing was kept in custody for the time being and two, they got her apparent prisoner out and safe. "Give me coordinates. We'll send a medteam over to assess the situation."
To Fate, "How long can you keep her detained?"
no subject
"It's a simple spell. It takes a bit of concentration, but I should be able to maintain it for as long as I need to."

Mei-Xing sneaks a sidelong glance at Fate and assumes a look of purest innocence. "Yes, it would be a shame if you... got distracted again, wouldn't it?" She looks towards Samus again and rolls her shoulders a bit, trying to stretch them. It's an awkward position to hold for so long. "Hey, I'm not going anywhere. You can drop this stuff right here, I'm starting to lose feeling in my fingers."
no subject
As for the distraction thing and her acting that way toward Fate, ooooh, don't even. Kon was going to let her get away with holding her creepy sex spell over their heads like she could shame them with it. He was getting her in trouble for it, yes he was.
"She also got me with some kind of creepy, molesty orgasm spell. So I'm just gonna toss in a sexual harassment complaint with that."
If Fate wanted to add in for that, she could. He wasn't going to divulge if she didn't want people to know, though.

"Go," She told Middleman, "Report back as soon as you find her and give me an assessment of the situation down there."
Next was dealing with Mei-Xing herself. Samus wasn't going to risk anything here. She may have been reckless, but she wasn't stupid. Magic was a new sort of foe, best handled with great precaution and by those who knew what they were doing. She might have just plopped Mei-Xing in a normal cell had she not just almost threatened Fate.
"You're staying. With the cuffs on." To the rest of the group, she stated (not asked) "What happened. Start from the beginning."

Fate paused then, taking a deep breath. "We followed her into a building, and in the basement there were several tanks. Most of the people inside seemed to be long dead, but there was one that was still alive. When we revealed ourselves, she said that the person inside the tank was a clone of her, and..." another pause, another deep breath. Fate was really trying her hardest to not show how much this whole thing freaked her out, but it was hard. She was feeling ill again just talking about it.
"She said it was created specifically so it can be some kind of organ donor." Well, Kon had said it, but Mei-Xing confirmed it. Whatever. "So Kon and I wanted to take the clone to the Medbay to see if she could be woken up. This girl then attacked us, we defended ourselves, and managed to subdue her and bring her here."
no subject
"Otherwise, I've got nothing else to add. They're pretty much right, I attacked them. Wouldn't you if you had some mage and a big guy like that talking about how they'd like to beat the hell out of you?" She shrugs. "It's not like I was aiming to do any permanent damage, either." Mei-Xing would figure out a better way to spin events to her advantage later. For now, countering their stories that made her sound like a wired trog had priority.

He turned to Samus. Fortunately, Kon was gifted with both a good memory and the ability to sound hella convincing.
"She's twisting it. We told her we were taking her to you just to make sure the clone was safe to unhook it, rather than leaving her with it, where she might hurt it or move it. She got all 'This is my property, security doesn't have any say here,' blah blah 'walk away from this' villain garbage. I also seem to recall an 'eat shit and die' in there."
He held out his hands. "Look, here's the facts: we found a person in a tube. That's creepy, that's alarming, that's something to bring to you guys, and it went down too stealthy, and too fast to call it in. We tried to bring the possible kidnapper to security, since it was a bad idea to leave her with her captive, and she started a fight--where she used some very morally dubious spells. Now you have a chance to look into it, and no one got hurt too badly."

They had all admitted two things: 1) that there was in fact a clone in the city. Its sapience had yet to be determined. 2) They had all participated in a fight. No one had called security.
"All three of you are staying here," she was not exactly pleased with how all of this went down. She grabs her comm, «Major.»
no subject
The Major was not surprised, not at all. Then again, she'd been monitoring the movement patterns of the Kryptonians for some time, and when one of them veered off course- the less stable of the two, especially - Motoko took notice. It wasn't that she wanted to kill them...at least not yet.
No one was allowed to have that kind of invulnerability. Oversight demanded at least someone police them.
Naturally, she'd seen the whole thing go down, in a limited fashion, with her own eyes. After they'd left, she'd gotten a fuller picture from the security system.
«I assume you need an assist?»
As if she didn't know.
no subject
Always working. Samus liked that.
no subject
Why Mei-Xing couldn't have just cloned organs in livestock, like a normal person, was beyond Motoko's comprehension. People don't tend to anthropomorphize pigs to the point where they'd sacrifice one for a human life.
«I took a look at the tank, as well, if you want the medical feed. It's stable, for now.»
no subject
Time to see what really happened.

when they cut out of sight, the external view went to a sub-window, the main image replaced by Security Footage (http://community.livejournal.com/trans_9/497132.html?thread=35983340#t35983340), neatly timestamped, that included audio.
The last shot was of Mei-Xing being handled out the door, in cuffs. It was an amateur move that had left no one behind to secure the area, not that she'd expect more from Fate or Kon, even excluding the emotionally charged nature of this conflict. It made the Major's job easy.
«Is that all you'll need?»
After all, two glaring women who could kick your face in are better than one?
no subject
Samus wasn't about to ask Motoko for backup, but that didn't mean it wasn't wanted. It simply meant Samus would let her decide whether or not she wanted to come.
She directed her attention back to the three in front of her, "Anything to add before I watch this?"
no subject
Even so, they had only attacked when Mei-Xing attacked first, so she was fairly certain they wouldn't be reprimanded that badly. And if they were? Well, that was okay with Fate, as long as that poor girl was taken into safe hands.

"You should have reported it," were the first words out of her mouth.
no subject
"But I think what's important right now is what will happen to that girl." She was referring to the clone, of course. "If it's possible, do you think we could wake her up after she's brought to the med bay?"

The way people reacted when they didn't realize they were being watched was always more interesting.
"If you can't see why they're pissed, then you deserve whatever you get," She interrupted, finally, arms folded as she stood just inside and to one side of the doorway. She gave all of them a measured glare. Just here to keep the peace, children.
Or something like that.
"As for what's in the tank, it has no higher brain-function," Her disdain for a lack of thoroughness was completely nonpartisan, "You'll have to take it up with medical to confirm, but on the off-chance it's even capable of consciousness, the term at hand is 'brain-death,' if you'd bothered to pay attention."
no subject
"The three of you will be punished accordingly. Get this straight, though, it's for causing a disturbance in the city. I'm not in a place to make any other rulings."
She didn't entirely blame Kon, though. Take away fourteen years of experience, and she probably would have done the same thing. She was turning into her commanding officer, but every teen on the ship was turning into her. This was karma.
