Girls just wanna have fun [Closed, bendytimed to before Mole Plot]
Nura didn't really want to have an ocean in the sensoriums. Nor did she desire a little river. Something to swim in...but also to be able to relax -- as that was what the doctor had ordered her to do. Back home, there hadn't really been many large ocean to splash in, unless she counts the waters upon Naltor, but even those had been small in size. So she tries to summon to mind an image of the perfect get-away...and she remembers the brochures she'd looked at when she and Querl were planning their honeymoon.
She remembers a place she'd looked at for more than just a little while, and decides that it is the perfect place for her and Katara to relax.
A little while later, the sensorium all made up, Nura, now wearing a very 31st century shiny silver swimsuit, appraises her work. There's a medium-sized waterfall gushing in the distance, pouring down into the large pool of water, surrounded by rocks that could be used like stepping stones.

So coming into the Sensorium and being greeted by a modern looking Nura in a fairly picturesque view, Katara couldn't help but feel a little relaxed, and she happily shimmied out of her clothing. She had gotten a few modern clothing on the planet, and even modern swimsuits, but today she opted for her traditional waterbending swimwear.
"Hey!" she greeted her friend. "This looks pretty neat! Did you ever go to a place like this in your world?"

"So what did you wanna talk about, Nura?"
no subject
"Anything really." She leaps a little higher on the last rock, using her flight ring to propel herself higher...and then letting the thought 'flight' go once she was high enough...and sending her plummeting to the water.
SPLASH!
She rises to the surface a few seconds later, pushing back her soaking hair from her face. "My mini-vacation, so whatever goes, it goes.."
no subject
She grinned and started to move her hands in a circular motion, and soon she and Nura were now on top of a spinning funnel, bringing them higher and higher until she had them fall, Katara doing another flip and falling deeper into the water before coming up again.
"I haven't gotten to do this in awhile! This is great!"
Yeah, Nura, if you want to talk, better initiate the conversation: she's losing herself a little in what she's doing too.
no subject
Nura lets out a sound of delight as she rises high on the spinning funnel, then dropping rapidly. She tucks her legs in and executes a perfect cannonball. Rising to the surface, she uses her flight ring to rise out of the water and seat herself on the lip of one of the rocks in the water.
"Isn't it?" She makes little ripples in the water with her fingers thoughtfully. "So besides training to further become an amazing warrior, what else have you been doing?"
no subject
She grinned, glad that Nura was getting into this as much as she was. She brought the water toward her took a breath and brought her hands straight ahead of her. The water stayed suspended in the air, and then started to evaporate and leave steam all around them.
"Well," she said, rising back to the surface after a quick dip, "I've also gotten The Outsiders started! Ben's a part of that along with a bunch of other awesome people! I think this could be the start of something really good!"
no subject
She relishes the steam. It feels good on her skin and for her pores. She reaches up and pushes back her still-wet white hair over her shoulders.
"Sounds good." She dips her fingers in the water and and makes circles absently. "What's the premise of The Outsiders?"
no subject
She was pretty glad to have a chance to soak her own muscles: she'd been through quite a lot in the last few days, and something told her that it wasn't going to get any easier.
"We're trying to gather a team with a family feeling, try go get them trained, and hopefully live up to the old Outsiders. I wish I could remember the name of the old leaders, but I guess as long as I keep the group and the feeling alive, it'll reflect good on them. Ben is there, and so are a lot of my friends. I'm glad that more kids are joining together to take a stand on the ship."

So the doctor had ordered Nura to relax, well, she's pretty relaxed. Her muscles un-tense and relax, and she releases a content sigh, arching her back and kicking her feet in the water.
"Kind of sounds like the Legion to me." She feels an ache inside. "I guess we were something of a family. A dysfunctional family...but close together." She runs her fingers through her hair. "I'm glad that something like the Legion is being formed aboard the ship." She smiles. "Stacy could use something like it to keep the youth together."
no subject
Katara was secretly glad that she could help Nura relax this way: a spa was usually the thing that did the trick when it came to recovery, and they could both use the time to recuperate honestly.
"It was something I felt tat we could all use. Leon had a pretty big thing against teenagers serving positions on the security team, and now that he's ship captain, I want to make sure we have a voice as well as proof that we could band together and help in a tight situation. Also there are some kids here who haven't quite found their place, where they fit in on the ship. I'm hoping to give them that, you know?"
She just hadn't expected it would lead to her being co-leader. That was a bit of a surprise.

She smiles at Katara's conviction. That's the spirit!
Fight the power!"Every youth needs their place where they be comfortable enough to feel like they belong."no subject
"He is a really nice guy, and we've been through a lot together! Unfortunately, he doesn't remember any of it: Stacy apparently pulled him at a different point in time than when I was."
It was still a little bit of a sore point: along with Sokka and Toph, Zuko had become someone she could trust, and she'd never forgotten how he'd taken that attack by Azula for her. She just really wished she could talk to him about all of those things, tell him how happy she was he was on the ship.
She nodded. "I think its a mistake not to include them. They have a lot that they can offer the ship, and the longer we act like we should treat them as kids, the easier it will be for an enemy to attack us by taking them hostage. They need to know what to do in that kind of situation."
no subject
She nods. "Youths are heavily underestimated. The potential that we have is overwhelmingly, but the adults forget that because of our stature, or our standings..." She shakes her head with a mildly disgusted face. It might be obvious that this is a serious subject with the pretty precog.
no subject
"Exactly," Katara said. "I don't know if Leon or anyone still thinks like that, but I intend to prove them wrong. We have just as much dedication, if not more. But it needs focus, like anything on the ship. That's why I wanted to get them all together: so we could help each other out whenever we needed it."
no subject
She catches herself, realizing that she's being drawn into serious conversation, and she'd been ordered to avoid just that.
She bursts into guffaws, throwing her head back, and rolling her shoulders. "I'm sorry Katara! This conversation isn't exactly Relaxation Talk of the month, now is it?"
She moves her arms to her sides and slowly lays back against the warm rock. It feels good. "Let's not talk about work. We're drifting into serious business. Let's be..." she makes jazz hands. "...adventurous."
no subject
She shrugged her shoulders. "Well, let's face it, we don't really get a lot of time TO relax. Its natural that we'd start talking about some of the things going on. But I figure every once and awhile, something like this really helps."
She raised an eyebrow. "What did you have in mind?"

"Aang," she said softly, grinning. "You might know him as the Avatar, or the bald monk, but his name is Aang. He'd been fighting to help the ship and the people in it with that Nightmare King. He's actually from my world...and he's the reason I'm as strong as I am today, really."
no subject
Her brows rise. "I'm guessing 'Avatar' is something incredibly important where you're from."
no subject
She smiled to herself.

She blushed pretty badly, so badly in fact that she actually had to step outside the spa a bit to cool down. "Not back home, no. When he first was released onto the ship, we...well, we were really glad to be with each other again, and we got pretty close. We also forgot we were on Stacy though, and well, we got hosed down: literally."
It still made her skin dance, remembering that day.

She admitted it to herself: she'd been curious about what would have happened if Stacy hadn't stopped them.
no subject
She smiles softly. "And it's perfectly normal to want to spend time with the person you love."
no subject
She smiled to herself. "Part of me hates waiting...I mean, its been so many months since I could finally see him, and a part of me is so frustrated that with all I'm doing, I'm not with him. But...he's the Avatar. He'll always BE busy, he'll always be saving people. It's one of the things I love about him."
no subject
But she's able to hide her forlorn well -- or, as well as she thinks. "Well, then you should ask him out."
no subject
She smiled to herself. "But enough about me, I'm still trying to figure that out. How about you and your husband?"
no subject

She gave the older woman a look of almost serene inquisitiveness. "Tell me about him."

"I've met the Brainy on the ship before, I can definitely see that," Katara said, rolling her eyes. "So what changed your mind about him?"
no subject
no subject
And gradually, that brought out her true feelings when it came to him too.
"So there was always something there," she said. "When did you both realize it?"
no subject
She goes back, remembering the day very well.
The day she died..."There was this man who wanted to change the galaxy the same way the Legion did...but his methods were much more violent and would hurt so many people...my precogging started to see little by little. I didn't understand why, and had started to become scared." She lifts her head. "But Querl consoled me. In his own way, he admitted he didn't dislike me, my power...he tried to cheer me up. It was very..."Her hand fall to her lap. "...sweet."
no subject
She smiled. "We're both kinda lucky that way, I think."

She clenched her fist. "For me...I'll do whatever I can to help people on the ship. I just hope I can be with Aang during it all."
