Swords for Hunters. [Open] (Warning for language because Hunters)

Training was coming along. Also the house they were living in, but it still needed more repairs. That Xander guy was a big help, even if Dean didn't care for how the guy would sometimes stare at his brother too long. It was weird, and he'd be apologetic about it as he'd get back to work. But it's weird. All the one eyed guy would say would be how he knew the other Sam and they worked together against the Yeerk. The very idea of his brother being possessed again by something evil... that was worse, and reminded him too much of the possible futures he kept hearing or seeing. Sam saying yes. Like he was always going to bend over to Lucifer for one reason or another. And Dean had to allow it. Just sit back like some useless bitch while everything falls. Well hell with that, hell with the damn future for that matter. He hoped Adam was in the pods perhaps, and maybe his old man. At very least Mikey can't have them take his place.

Or you can accept your destiny, Dean.

Crap, he could do without the background commentary. He needed a drink or something to fight. He was half hoping Vader would show up somewhere so he could go kick his Sith ass. Be better than contemplating how much his future will suck if they get their world back. Eh, screw it, he needed to practice or something. He checked the time. Hunter class was yesterday, so he was free and clear there. He hated using the Sensoriums but it did work for training purposes. Like the hunting sim he rigged up a few times.

Now, time for something different. Cas was probably poking around the hydroponics. As long as he was just growing herbs and weed and not trying to partake anything narcotic, it seemed like a good idea. Gave him something else to do. Just like what Dean was doing. Keep moving, keep busy. Fight and bury the thoughts down in the hole.

Today's practice didn't involve a gun though. It involved a longsword. His old man gave them some pointers about bladed weapons, and an overview just in case. But most of their battles involved guns and bigger weapons. Still, better to be diverse as possible.

Kyle smiled at Dean, he was a quick learner. "Very good, I think you've got the basics down. If you feel comfortable with them we can take this up to the next step if you'd like?"

Had to be, especially with his father. You drilled and drilled until you could do it in the dark, blindfolded, and one hand tied behind your back. That, and Dean could learn when the subject was something he thought was important. Something interesting. Otherwise he tuned out most of his classes growing up.

"Yeah, let's go."

Kyle smirked, and switched off his lightsaber. Returning it to his belt he then had the sensoriums create a sword similar to Dean for him. Stepping out in front of Dean he brought it up to the ready position. "Alright then let's begin."

As a traditional courtesy he'd leave the first move to the student of course.

Dean shifted his weight, keeping balanced on the balls of his feet. His very figure suggesting coiled energy before he charged forward smoothly, bringing his sword up for a swipe to the arm.

Dean's form was solid just as Kyle hoped it would be. Giving a little ground he parried the blow, and prepared to defend against the next attack. While he could have counterattacked he didn't want to do that just yet. He still needed to see how well Dean had learned the other attacks first.

Dean was picking it up quickly, he was still raw and unsteady in some of his movements. Though he tried hiding it well as he lunged for his next attack. He even tried a feint to one side to catch Kyle off guard. And for a human, his instincts and intuition were very sharp indeed.

He was willing to push himself, good. Kyle saw the feint, and blocked the incoming attack before stepping off to the side, and countering. Hopefully Dean would be quick enough to catch it.

Dean very nearly missed it, and only caught it at the last second, defending against the counterattack. He came around, and tried a half sweep down before suddenly changing to a lunge at the last second. Weird move, but testing something.

Weird, but effective. His instincts had served him well, and it forced Kyle to break off his attack and dodge out of the way. "Quick thinking."

Dean shrugged, "Gotta adapt where I come from or you don't last very long. Seen it happen to too many Hunters."

"I think all of us have had to learn that lesson a little bit." To help prove the point Kyle shifts into a different stance, one he did not show Dean. "Ready for some more, or do you need a break?"

Dean shook his head, "I'm good." He was used to getting hard training growing up, John pushing his sons almost to the point of exhaustion. Dean didn't mind it, Sam on the other hand...

As it was, he readied himself, eying the new position curiously.

Kyle nodded his head, and begin his attack. It was a powerful overhead swing that while easy to block would probably rattle someones teeth when they did.

Dean brought his sword up but it jolted him enough to make him drop his sword for a moment. He dove and rolled to grab it again, and brought it up to attack from his prone position.

Kyle rolled out of the way of the attack. Once he was back on his feet he charged right at Dean again.

Dean got up, parrying the movement, and trying to use the momentum to steer Kyle to the side and away from him.

Rather than be moved by Kyle planted his feet, and put all his force into making it as difficult as possible for him to be moved. It might mean he gave up a chance at a counter attack, but control of the battle space was far more important to him than that.

Damn, he wasn't expecting that, and actually fell over from the attempt. He did move quickly to right himself before attacking with a low swipe toward the knees this time.

Kyle reacts just in time throwing himself back in a flip, and landing in a crouch. While he made it look smooth it had strained him a bit. He hadn't been expecting to have to move that fast in this fight.

Dean was a born hunter and warrior. It showed in his movements and allowed him to be quick at times when fighting.

He gave Kyle a moment, "Need a break?"

Kyle stands back up and gives Dean a defiant smirk. He wasn't going to make the mistake of underestimating his speed again. "I'm not that old yet. I think I can handle some more if you can."

Dean nodded at that, and took a defensive stance again.

"all right, ready when you are."

This time Kyle dashes to the left before feinting to the right, and shifting back to the left for his attack. Dean might notice that he's holding back less on his speed now.

That's good, he needed to push himself more. Dean was keeping up, or trying to though he felt himself starting to tire already. Dammit, getting soft. He had to step up his practice time.

Good thing he had that attitude because Kyle wasn't letting up any. "Come on! I know you have more in you."
