Perhaps he wasn't quite as bad as Alto or Ozma, but Michael did have the heart of a pilot - so when he heard that this mysterious hangar bay had ships of all types from a thousand different universes, he had to check it out.

And the description didn't disappoint. He wasn't the gaping type, but boy did he gape at the thousands - no, tens of thousands - of craft all smartly lined up in rows. How big was this place?

There were fighters, some that looked like his trusty VF-25 but others that looked wholly alien, there were bipedal craft that vaguely resembled the Battroid mode, and then there were bestial creations that... well, he'd never seen anything like that before.

But no sooner had he taken a step or two into the room than something happened: A huge section of the far wall began to... he couldn't quite explain it. It seemed like a membrane that was dissolving away to reveal a separate section of the hangar beyond - and the sniper's eyes went wide. Because in that new section was a shape he was entirely familiar with.

At 400 meters long, the bulk of the Macross Quarter dwarfed pretty much all of the other craft in the hangar. But that was impossible - how could the Quarter be here? What the hell had happened back home after he'd ... well, died?

He pulled out the omnicomm he'd been issued and shot a quick message over to Ozma.

Michael crossed his arms over his chest. "You really don't have any idea what it takes to run a ship like that, do you?"

"Do you want to stay here or not?"

"Do you really think we're the only ones here from the Frontier? What if someone we know wakes up and we've already jumped ship?"

They both know who he's referring to.

"That guy..."

"It doesn't even have to be that Princess. What about Luca, or Klan? What about all your fans on the Frontier? Do you really want them to know that we took the lifeboat and beat it?"

"Of course not!"

"Well, I'm glad to hear the Fairy of the Galaxy wouldn't be so cruel."

"You just took it all wrong."

"Maybe I did. Maybe I just thought more about it."

"-- I thought about it!"

And that just got a grin out of him. "A good marksman thinks his shot through to the end. You didn't think about everything."

"Really? Then you can handle getting everyone from Frontier off this thing!"

"I'm thinking about it, I'm thinking. It's not the sort of problem you solve overnight, you know."

"Then pick up the pace."

"If I did, you'd still tell me I wasn't going fast enough."

"There's no such thing as 'too fast' for everyone from Frontier!"

"Even if you go so fast you crash?"

"You're a hot shot ace, right?"

"You shouldn't even need to ask that question."

"Then pull it off."

"So you're the type who'd hire a plumber to fix your electric wiring, then."

"Of course. It's not like I know anything about wires."

"I guess I can't fault you for being inconsistent," he chuckled, giving his head a little shake.

"I'll think of something. It's just not the kind of decision you rush."
