Perhaps he wasn't quite as bad as Alto or Ozma, but Michael did have the heart of a pilot - so when he heard that this mysterious hangar bay had ships of all types from a thousand different universes, he had to check it out.

And the description didn't disappoint. He wasn't the gaping type, but boy did he gape at the thousands - no, tens of thousands - of craft all smartly lined up in rows. How big was this place?

There were fighters, some that looked like his trusty VF-25 but others that looked wholly alien, there were bipedal craft that vaguely resembled the Battroid mode, and then there were bestial creations that... well, he'd never seen anything like that before.

But no sooner had he taken a step or two into the room than something happened: A huge section of the far wall began to... he couldn't quite explain it. It seemed like a membrane that was dissolving away to reveal a separate section of the hangar beyond - and the sniper's eyes went wide. Because in that new section was a shape he was entirely familiar with.

At 400 meters long, the bulk of the Macross Quarter dwarfed pretty much all of the other craft in the hangar. But that was impossible - how could the Quarter be here? What the hell had happened back home after he'd ... well, died?

He pulled out the omnicomm he'd been issued and shot a quick message over to Ozma.

It wasn't stalking if it wasn't romantic, right? Right? Whatever. Sheryl was following Michael around the ship and didn't intend to stop any time soon -- especially when he stumbled onto variable fighter carriers.

"Is it -- how did it -- ?"

He really didn't mind her presence, to be honest - or if he did, he was much better at hiding it than a certain Princess - but right now there was nothing on his face but utter and total bewilderment.

"I don't have a a clue!" He looked over at Sheryl. "Where the hell could they have gotten the Quarter from?"

A silver-haired pilot could be seen peeking out of his white mobile suits - one of many lined up in the hangar.

"What the hell is that?"

"There's no time to think about that," she said, shaking her head. "Right now, we're flying it out of here!"

"Hey, Hang on--" he shook his head. "Flying a ship like that isn't anything like flying a VF. You'll crash it before you get it off the ground!"

"You'll pilot it. I'll be the captain."

Oh, perfect - someone who would probably want an explanation that Michael just didn't have. "It's the Macross Quarter."

Well, that probably didn't mean anything to the other pilot. Michael tried again: "...it's a carrier. Can't you tell?"

"A Variable Space Carrier -- the Macross Quarter."

Michael crossed his arms over his chest. "You really don't have any idea what it takes to run a ship like that, do you?"

Kouji had ran off following learning where the hangar was. Watching Michael pass by, Kouji gaped in shock at the appearance of the Macross Quarter, a battle carrier that paled in size to even Mazinkaiser, second tallest machine only to the Unit 02.

"Is... is that... an aircraft carrier?!" Kouji said.

"Aircraft? Those old fashioned things?"

"Do you really think we're the only ones here from the Frontier? What if someone we know wakes up and we've already jumped ship?"

They both know who he's referring to.

"You mean it's not?!" Kouji said, shocked. Well, excuse him for having the most advanced machine in his world. The governments don't have giant robots and stuff like that - only the buildings with SCIENCE! "Then, what is it?"

"VFs, actually. Variable fighters. They can fly in atmo, if that's what you mean."

"...holy..." Kouji uttered, shocked. "...when did the Japanese military get that sort of thing?!"

"It carries variable fighters."

"It doesn't even have to be that Princess. What about Luca, or Klan? What about all your fans on the Frontier? Do you really want them to know that we took the lifeboat and beat it?"

"...what the hell does the Japanese military have to do with any of that?"

"Variable fighters..." Kouji echoed, then... "...what's a variable fighter?"

Super robots? Easy. Mazingers, he knows them like the back of his hand. Any other machine he's never heard of or seen in his world? Right over his head.

"It's not easy to explain..." she admitted.

Kouji just stared at Michael, utterly confused. Obviously there's something missing in this picture and he's starting to see it.

"...this is way too advanced for me and if you're what you did... I don't think we're from the same Earth, buddy!"

"I guess I'll figure it out sooner or later." Kouji said, shrugging. At was here he realized that he never introduced himself... or know who this girl was.

"The name's Kouji. Kouji Kabuto." he said, extending a hand.
