Capital Ship Get

Perhaps he wasn't quite as bad as Alto or Ozma, but Michael did have the heart of a pilot - so when he heard that this mysterious hangar bay had ships of all types from a thousand different universes, he had to check it out.

And the description didn't disappoint. He wasn't the gaping type, but boy did he gape at the thousands - no, tens of thousands - of craft all smartly lined up in rows. How big was this place?

There were fighters, some that looked like his trusty VF-25 but others that looked wholly alien, there were bipedal craft that vaguely resembled the Battroid mode, and then there were bestial creations that... well, he'd never seen anything like that before.

But no sooner had he taken a step or two into the room than something happened: A huge section of the far wall began to... he couldn't quite explain it. It seemed like a membrane that was dissolving away to reveal a separate section of the hangar beyond - and the sniper's eyes went wide. Because in that new section was a shape he was entirely familiar with.

At 400 meters long, the bulk of the Macross Quarter dwarfed pretty much all of the other craft in the hangar. But that was impossible - how could the Quarter be here? What the hell had happened back home after he'd ... well, died?

He pulled out the omnicomm he'd been issued and shot a quick message over to Ozma.

It wasn't stalking if it wasn't romantic, right? Right? Whatever. Sheryl was following Michael around the ship and didn't intend to stop any time soon -- especially when he stumbled onto variable fighter carriers.

"Is it -- how did it -- ?"

"There's no time to think about that," she said, shaking her head. "Right now, we're flying it out of here!"

A silver-haired pilot could be seen peeking out of his white mobile suits - one of many lined up in the hangar.

"What the hell is that?"
silverduelist: (bet I can drive better)

"I can see that, but what is something like that doing here? It's a little redundant."

Kouji had ran off following learning where the hangar was. He was already surprised when he found one machine, the powerful Mazin (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4nESGoU64oA)kaiser (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vwSbo9E2OW4&feature=related), but also his first machine, the Mazin (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EwT8IAcmy-8)ger-Z (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zDr5RCqhck0&feature=related).

Watching Michael pass by, Kouji gaped in shock at the appearance of the Macross Quarter, a battle carrier that paled in size to even Mazinkaiser, second tallest machine only to the Unit 02.

"Is... is that... an aircraft carrier?!" Kouji said.

[identity profile] galacticfairy.livejournal.com 2010-08-03 03:04 am (UTC)(link)
"Aircraft? Those old fashioned things?"

[identity profile] koji-never-dies.livejournal.com 2010-08-03 03:08 am (UTC)(link)
"You mean it's not?!" Kouji said, shocked. Well, excuse him for having the most advanced machine in his world. The governments don't have giant robots and stuff like that - only the buildings with SCIENCE! "Then, what is it?"

[identity profile] koji-never-dies.livejournal.com 2010-08-03 03:09 am (UTC)(link)
"...holy..." Kouji uttered, shocked. "...when did the Japanese military get that sort of thing?!"

'Vadum had for once actually taken time from training to look about the hanger, searching for any familiar vessels apart from the phantom he had found months back. Only signs of other similar phantoms. It was while working on said Phantom that the sensors alerted him to the space opening up, shutting the dropship's systems down the Sangheili Shipmaster quickly stepped out onto the side ramps.

A vessel larger than any here in the hanger, clearly not one of Covenant design, and did not match any silhouette of the known human ships from his world either. It was no Shadow of Intent, but from what he could see it was not unarmed in any extent. Stepping down from the phantom, overhearing the others as they spoke, "A carrier you say? You know of that vessel I gather," speaking up as he stepped over toward the one who clearly showed signs of recognition of the Quarter.

Ozma arrived eventually, meeting up with Michael. The ship really was too damn big. It was situations like this that make a man miss his car.

"There it is, huh?" he says as he walks up. "Why would a ship as big as this even need a carrier? It looks like it can hold plenty on its own."

After 'Vadum had finished speaking with the Skull squadron pilot the Sangheili made his way over to the one who he could only assume was Skull Squadrons commanding officer, a dip of his head given in greetings as he stopped a respectful distance away, "Captain Ozma I presume? Your lieutenant directed me to speak to you in regards to the Quarter," Getting right to the point it seems.

Trudy was mostly used to the weird shit that the ship pulled on an almost daily basis - tentacles, edible goo, humidity, occasional malevolent AIs - but this was more than she'd expected could happen.

Straightening slowly, she handed the spanner she'd been working on her X-wing with to the nearest mechanic, wandering over to the new section of the hangar.

A slow grin began to form across her face. Here they'd been talking about the impractical challenge of scrambling the X-wings too close to Stacy, where they could get boxed in against her huge bulk, and this shows up. Coincidence? "Damn. Now that is going to be useful," she said, stopping a few feet from the others gathering around the ship and grinning up at its bulk.

Wedge let out a long, low whistle of appreciation at the sight of the massive new ship that dwarfed everything else in the hangar. That hadn't been there before. But then again, Stacy was full of surprises.

"Nice ship. And probably extremely useful, too."

"Those guys aim to please," Sheryl smiled.
