"OW! That so totally hurts!" -- Charles Xavier
The battle against the Ohm raged on, and the casualties on the ground were mounting. Injured crew members got emergency treatment in the field, which largely amounted to patching them up so they wouldn't die sometime within the next fifteen minutes. After that, they were quickly picked up by shuttle and brought back to the ship, where they were sent to a medbay that was getting progressively more crowded.
The situation was growing increasingly dire, to the point that Stacy activated one of the AI's to help out.

"Please state the nature of the medical emergency."

"Is it okay to see you, or is doctor fusspants going to insist I keep away from the patient?" Katara asked once he was out of earshot.

She drew her knees to her chest with her hands. "So I guess you're feeling well enough for me to lecture you on leaving the battlefield when you're hurt!"
There was a teasing glint in her eye, but tempered by the motherly glare she was giving her new favorite friend.

Nura's smile turns a little tight-lipped when she hears what Katara says next. "I suppose so..." is her answer to the not-question, not really looking forward to two lectures all in one day.

But that being said, Katara gave her friend a serious look. "I know we just met, and I'm a kid, so you have no reason to take me seriously in a fight like that. I get why you wouldn't listen to me and stay and fight: you probably had to do this on your world too. But I have my own experience fighting Nura, and if someone who's hurt keep trying to fight, they could end up fatally taken out. I just...I really don't want you suffering from injuries I can't do anything about, okay?"
no subject
"Well you're right," she grudgingly admits. "I did fight a lot on my world, and at a young age. And I guess that my headstrong disposition doesn't do much when you're given an order, and are too stubborn to accept it. On my world, that was what the basis of my team was: rebellion. So used to going against orders that we often forgot our place. I'm sorry that I forgot mine when you were only concerned about my well being."
None of that would have been said if she was a year younger. It would have been outright denial and fighting. But Nura's personality is more tempered by her on the Spirit Plane. Less fiery hotheadedness, and more cool thinking.

She sighed. "I'm glad you're okay. Who was finally able to get you out?"

"Something tells me that it wasn't the best way to get you out, was it?"

She thought so anyway. "I'm glad you're okay."

"I'm glad you're OK as well," she softly says. "Did everyone else get out alright?"
no subject
"Yeah," Katara said. "I've already seen Negi and Sasami, although I have to go find Giles. Haven't seen him yet. So far, everyone was all right."

And on a lighter note, her lips are quirk at the corners in a most devious smile. "Now, tell me more about these not nice men who think your innate talent is a party trick. I think I've found my first round of pantsing victims..."
no subject
"Oh, did I ever say that? I don't know if that was ever the case! People call it magic, but I don't think they mean the kind of magic with illusions and all of that. I think they think its really magic, like the kind Negi and Luna have to practice."

She glared. "But if there was anyone that really gets me upset, its that PILOT girl, Asuka."
no subject
She cocks her head to the side, hair sliding over her shoulder. "I'm guessing by lu of your tone, Asuka really gets under your skin."
no subject
Here, Katara twitched a little. "Asuka's fine...if you like arrogant, stuck up little know it alls who make more of their accomplishments than needed to make themselves feel better!"

Katara's tone went far over MIFFED and right to ZIZZED BEYOND ALL REASON. And Katara's a pretty nice young girl, so to be in a tiff with her must mean nothing good about the tiffee.
"I see. From the way you describe her, she doesn't sound like my cup of tea either."
