sammy's sideways slam
Down in some seedier district deep mainland was an eyesore of neon flashing lights and reedy, trilling alien music that was, once you got used to it, pretty damn good. It was called Sammy's Sideways Slam and, according to ever local with a half functioning liver (or alien organ equivalent), it served the best, most potent, insanely awesome drinks on the entire planet. It was also a place were drunk fights went unnoticed, the barkeep knocked heads together on a routine basis, and his wife (Seela'leen and See for short) sang bawdy drinking songs in a voice that simply couldn't fit in her tiny three foot eight body. Perched up on a counter, the green skinned, emerald eyed woman leaned back, her shock of white and cinnamon striped hair curing over her shoulders, and let another song rip as the band slammed into the appropriate song.
Hooting, the rowdy audience cracked glasses together and sang along.
Sammy's was swinging.
[[OOC: One seedy bar, open location down in the mainland. Tag the main, tag your friend. Get wasted, play Sabbac, poker, by smokes off the Gino the bartender, hit on Seela'leen, whatever. I'll even NPC for you if you want. I'm late with this post. So late. But whatever. Rogues? Arha's looking for you. If you be Rogue, tag into the convo like it is a party, darlings. She wants her pile of pilots. if you want a separate tag, go'in do it. ]]

Axl stared for a moment. Looked at Kyle, looked at Bojut, looked at Kyle again. He knew he was getting tipsy, but he was pretty sure he wasn't hallucination tipsy.
"That was awesome. Do it again!"

Kira blinked, having made his way back to the table from the bar, where he'd gotten...
...juice. Naturally.

"'Fraid I can't kid. Drunk tossing is officially frowned upon by the Jedi Order, but I can do this instead." Spotting the waitress making her way over to him with his drink he floated it over to him with the Force. It might have been showing off a bit, but the kid seemed alright and he didn't mind entertaining him a little. It had the added benefit of meaning he didn't need to disturb Arha.
Taking a sip he was surprised at the flavor. It had an initial bit that slowly grew into a subtle smokiness. He liked it.

"Terrible Jed-Eye we are," she said wryly, "showing off in such a manner." Arha let the drink ease some mellowness into her voice and it enhanced the soft whiskey burr that was already present.

Another sip of his drink and he realized he was staring at the bottom of the glass. That wouldn't do.
He waved over a passing waitress. "Molotov Planet, non-organic? Thanks!"

Kyle nodded at Kira as a way of greeting him, and then explained. "We're guardians of peace, and justice in our galaxy. Which really means whenever something goes wrong we're the ones they call. It's not really a sedate life. Actually it's a bit like things here in a way. Always running from one planet to another trying to help people."

But that didn't explain everything about the Jedi.
"How's the drunk-tossing and drink-floating come into it? I mean, I kinda gather it's a Jedi thing, and you're not supposed to abuse it, but how does it work?"

She thought for a moment.
"I was not born to the Force, I was," she smiled softly, "introduced and perhaps chosen by it aboard Stacy. I suppose I have a unique perspective on this matter. For myself, the Force is like a great sand dune, in climbing it, one's footing must be sure lest you wind up with a face full of sand and be smothered in a sandfall. One misstep begets another and when you are hit by a great deal of falling sand, beginning your climb to the top once more can seem impossible. You will slide if you grow angry, you will fail if you seek to conquer. Always, you must let the sand direct you to you next step. But, that said, I do not think anything is impossible. Such a word has possible in it, and thus requires more effort. In using the Force, you must trust it to lead you and listen not for your own sake, but for that of all. It is not something to be bandied about. It carries a weight, this gift. Showing off thusly," Arha spun her drink gently over her palm, "is a small thing, but misuse can lead to greater misuse in other areas if one is not careful--just like stepping in the sand the wrong way." She closed her fingers around her drink and took a sip.
"So it is that Jed-Eye must be constantly vigilant when using the Force for...personal gain, shall we say." She glanced at Kyle. "I have explained it, too, as one who was wholly alien to the Force. I hope that was acceptable."
