It was a freaking gorgeous day out on Zokez II, and even though it was all islands, there was some open road. Dean did a last check over on the Impala, making sure everything looked good.

He then yelled to the others, "Come on, we're burning daylight here, let's go."

As soon as everybody was situated, Dean immediately grabbed his tape deck, plugged one into the stereo. He then started up the car, and the purr of the engine could be heard for a moment. And then the start of Panama by Van Halen started blasting from the speakers.

Who knows, there might be still be some pot hidden in the seats from its last adventure in the hangar. At very least the seats had an interesting uh aroma to them?

Like any good tourist place, the planet had its share of night clubs, bars and dives for thirsty travelers. More importantly, there was food. Lots of greasy, fried food.

Sam was so, so happy that someone else stepped up to drive the Mystery Machine. Sure, there was part of him that kind of wanted to. But the rest of him wanted to be right where he was: shotgun in the Impala.

Even if he groaned at Dean's choice of music, it was with a smile.

There was more than enough room for Kang's wings in the van, and he immediately claimed the passenger seat, snout wrinkling slightly at the lingering smell. That window was definitely going to be staying open.

He already knew the half-elf, but he didn't know the person that was apparently driving. Holding out his hand in greeting, he introduced himself, "Name's Kang."

Rhiow leapt up into the car easily, landing in Sam's lap and curling up into a snug ball. "Is that noise supposed to be music?" she asked, her ears laying out sideways.

Tanis mumbled something about the smell reminding him of a certain herbal shop in Thobordin but climbed in anyway. "Tanis," May as well introduce himself to the driver.

Mordin nodded at Kang and reached out to shake hands. A custom he'd picked up from humans, naturally. Still a bit odd to him, but he took it in stride.

"Doctor Mordin Solus. Pleasure to meet you both." He's actually rather enjoying driving the primitive vehicle. It's rather exhilarating to have the wind brushing over you as you drive at fairly high speed for a ground vehicle. Plus keeping the window down would get rid of that pungent smell...

Cas as usual was sat in the back. For some reason though, today the separation was getting to him, so he leaned forward, draping his arms over the back of the front seat, and resting his chin there, between Sam and Dean.

"I like it," he finally said after a minute. "It is ... familiar."

"You as well. I'm glad neither of us is having to learn how to drive on the spot. It probably wouldn't go well," Kang chuckled, relaxing in his seat. "Feels good to be out of Stacy and on an actual world."

Turning his head, he looked back at Tanis with a grin, "And here, we can actually eat some real meat."

Dean did turn it down slightly for Rhiow's sake, but he then smirked as he started to pull out onto the road. He paused to make sure the van was going to keep up with them.

"See, Cas thinks my music is awesome."

"No, Cas thinks your music is familiar. It's not like he's heard much of anything else." Since Cas hung around with them on Earth even before he was human. Sam scritched Rhiow behind the ears and grinned. "But I guess it works. For now."

"It sounds like a chorus of toms screaming," Rhiow said, leaning into the scritches. "That's only appealing when you're in heat, and even then, it's not excessively appealing."

She appreciated the volume change, really. It didn't hurt her ears quite so badly now. "Not that I would actually know."

"I still wouldn't mind to learn how to drive at some point. Might be interesting." He did grin at the thought of real food though.

"And that's something I'd die for!"

"Driving nto difficult. Merely takes practice." Mordin replied, leaning over to fiddle with the primitive radio for a moment. Hmm. Nothing happened. Alas, no music.

"Must agree that being on actual planet is most refreshing. Thought of real food also raises spirits."

Kang smiled, "I'm interested in learning, too. Never know when it might come in handy." He rested his arm on the edge of the window and leaned so that his head was partially out. Oh, that helped. Much better than Stacy or the inside of the van.

The little bit of fresh air he was getting helped revive him, though he was sure he'd enjoy getting out of the car when they could.

"Very handy." He went silent a moment. "Wish we were allowed weapons. Feel strange without them." A common point of reference was a good way to start a conversation. Made everyone feel at ease.

Kang snorted, "Yeah. Even a dagger. I can understand my sword or the battle-axe, but I don't like being without some sort of weapon on me." Old habits and all.

"Come on Kang, you have teeth. I'm the one who's probably the least dangerous." Not that he was, Tanis knew how to fight, he just would rather stay out of them for the most part.

Mordin just smirks. "Still have my omnitool. Has several useful abilities that are...not technically weapons."

Mordin sounds far too smug about this.

"Doesn't mean I like using 'em unless I have to," Kang pointed out with a grin that showed off every single one of his fangs. "And that is not fair."

Cas frowned at Sam. "I said I liked it," he protested.

Smug Dean is very smug about his best friend liking the tunes.

"See, big brother was right." The song then switched to AC/DC's Thunderstruck after the other song was finished as they drove along.

"So where to first? I vote we get some real food."

Sam looked over his shoulder and grinned at Cas. Surely the angel had been around them long enough to recognize that little bit of family byplay. Wasn't like it was unusual for them to do it. "Real food would be awesome," he agreed, rubbing his fingers over Rhiow's back. "Like, seriously awesome. Nothing that tastes of library paste."
