Rogue Squadron Meet 'n' Greet, Mark 2 [ Closed to Rogue Squadron]

Wedge had set up the headquarters for yet another meet and greet operation. The headquarters, of course, was simply an abandoned building with appropriate facilities he had commandeered in the city. A low building of bright red brick, it had at some point been an office complex. Now it was the headquarters of the best fighter squadron anywhere (or so the reputation went). A crude sign and been painted over the front of the building reading 'Rogue Squadron Headquarters,' replacing the precious owners which had advertised for insurance of some type. The front offices had been set up for use by Wedge and his small staff (now including Tycho, Ben and Nura) to run the squadron. Another side room had been set up as a 'pilot lounge,' though at the moment it only had some spare office furniture. Couches and other things were hard to come by on Stacy. Finally, the largest room had been converted into a briefing room of sorts, with a projector and several rows of seating, as well as tables that could be stowed or set up as needed.

At the moment there were simply chairs scattered around the edge of the room. Wedge waited, occasionally checking his chronometer. Hopefully everyone would arrive and mingle, and then he could get down to the business of letting them know exactly what they were in for.

[[OOC: Feel free to tag each other, please!

The briefing has started!]]

"There may be, but they'll want to get everyone settled in their wings as soon as possible. It disrupts things to much to constantly keep moving people around." Everyone needed long enough to get comfortable with each other before it was really an option to shift the assignments. Trust had to be built, and that was going to take time.

"Hmm. Okay, yeah, true enough. Though those of us who have been in longer might be safe enough to move. Not sure I'd want to."

"If you're not comfortable changing wings I'm sure he won't move you. We need pilots coming home first and foremost, and being unsure of who's got your back is a recipe for just the opposite."

Sam thought about that for a moment and nodded. "Yeah, that's a pretty major thing. Though I'm not entirely used to anybody but Dean having my back, so it's already been a bit of an adjustment."

"I know what it's like to work with only one partner for so long. Give it time, and I'm sure you'll get used to it."

"I'm sure I will," Sam agreed. "Last one I trusted other than Dean, though...things got incredibly sticky. So I'm a little wary about working with a lot of people. But...I've grown up on the stories of Rogue Squadron. So I think it makes it a little easier with people like Wedge and Tycho."

"Dean had mentioned something about knowing of our universe. I have to tell you it's still a little strange. Especially when said something about Yoda." It was going to take him a little time to truly process that one. "Still you've got some of the best people around here to watch your back. They won't let you down."

He knew that from personal experience.

"I know." Sam's smile widened a bit. "I know it's weird. I have the same problem when I look around and realize there could be anybody here who knows all about my world." And possibly knew more about what happened than he did, that was certain.
