Lonesome Days [Open]
For the most part, things had been very quiet for Sasami. Despite the odd incidents between that dragon creature and the gravity cutting out, it seems a bit worrisome not to have something exciting happen. At this point, as Sasami looked out to the Bleed, she made probably the most duh-inspiring statement ever.
"I miss everyone." Sasami said to herself. She had allowed Ryo-Ohki to wander off and she was even regretting not having her company. Even though she had the palace, even though she had met some of the kids, no one really came to visit her.
More maybe it was because she was still reeling from Karen's reaction. Just because she was an alien didn't mean she should be normal. Maybe that's why no one was around or asking about her. Maybe they figured that, because she was an alien, she could take care of herself...
As she curled herself up on the chair, she wished Paula or maybe Hikari would show up. They were nice...

"But I am not suggesting I am saying no," Alessa said. "Just realize being friends with me might make others not like you. That's a risk you take."
The look in her eyes startled Alessa. No one looked at her like that really, not even Shadow.
no subject
"Well... what do you say?" she asked, taking no heed to Alessa's startled look.
no subject
"I would be stupid to say no," Alessa said, though she was not quite ready to give a happy smile, since those kind of smiles weren't the type she usually gave, so she simply looked less stern. "Thank you, Sasami. Is there anything you're curious about, concerning myself or the ship?"
no subject
"S-Sorry...! I guess I got a bit carried away." Sasami said. "Though... if you don't mind me asking... what are you?" Alessa's earlier switch was enough to tell her she wasn't a normal kid herself. She just wanted to know what she was exactly.
no subject
"I'm not exactly sure how, but its all right," Alessa said, still having no idea what sasmi had been trying to do. "But since you asked: I'm a demon. That means I have a way of showing humans scary things that they don't want to see. Before I was brought here, I had defeated these humans who had hurt a little girl pretty badly. I resemble that little girl when I look human. Her name is the one I took: Alessa."
no subject
"Wow... I could see why people would be hesitant in wanting to be friends with you." Sasami said. "But, you don't have to worry about that now...!"
NOW she reached over and hugged Alessa. A simple gesture just to show she meant no harm. Though the way Alessa had been acting, she was slightly afraid something would happen to her because of it... like melt.

While she was going to nod acknowledgment at what the girl had said, she did that attempt again, except she wound up doing THAT, which completely took Alessa by surprise. What in the hell, didn't she know what a demon was, and you didn't go off hugging them like that?! She was so surprised that her body had a reaction that shouldn't have ever had: her skin actually flushed, and turned RED, which was insane on the pale skinned demon.
She hurriedly broke from the hug, looking a little awed. "Warn me the next time you that. It was...unexpected."
no subject
"I-I'm sorry! I didn't think...! I... I'm sorry..." she said, shrinking back.
Oh, great - she offended a new friend a few moments after becoming her friend. Real smooth!
no subject
"You don't have to apologize," Alessa said, trying to look calmer. "I'm...just not used to anyone wanting to touch me voluntarily. It doesn't really happen often. I'm not bothered by you."
She did her best to hide the redness in her face though. FREAKY. Not even Shadow had ever been able to do that. Of course, she also tended to dominate their...whatever it was.

A smile slowly crept on her face as she held out a hand towards Alessa, as if she was wanting her to hold on or something. She shook her head to try to banish away her thoughts.
"I should have asked you in the first place, but I just wanted to show you weren't alone anymore. You probably haven't been and you just don't see it. I really do want to be your friend and... I just don't want anyone else to be alone."
no subject
Alessa watched the hand, and slowly gave her her own. It was strange, to seem this vulnerable and have it be okay so long as no one else was watching. She didn't mind the smile terribly though: only one other person had smiled at her that way, and it was Vivio, Nanoha's daughter, but Sasami was the first to go out of her way.
Alessa gave her a strange look. "Demons don't really get lonely. They have a goal, and when they know it, they work towards it. That is their purpose, and so it is what they strive for and nothing else. But...I'm here, in a place that is not my world, so I really have no goal to work for. So in a way, maybe you're right: I have been feeling strange, like I don;t belong here."
no subject
"I know how you feel. A lot of the people here are... special. They have something that could help everyone. Despite what I am, I'm still a child. I don't have anything that could help anyone. Even the other kids have something... I just feel helpless."
She let out a sigh before looking at Alessa again.
"But, maybe I can do something, somehow... even if it's to make someone feel like they belong. It may not be much but... it's better than nothing."
no subject
Alessa gave the girl a searching look. "That is true. A sense of belonging is exactly what people on this ship need. If they do not have that, then they are going to be destroyed. I have always thought that."
no subject
"Well... it always takes that first step for things to change, right?" Sasami said. She let out a giggle as she still held on to Alessa's hand. "I think this is that step. That there's someone willing to stand by you, no matter what..."
She blushed a bit after realizing what she said.
"That was... kinda sappy, wasn't it?"
no subject
The rest of the speech, however, was a bit of a...yeah.
"A bit." Alessa shook her head, but this time, she did actually smile. "From anyone else, it would have been highly annoying. But you are finding your voice. It's a start."
no subject
She slowly pulled her hand away from Alessa's, pulling her hands behind her. "I'll work on it. I'm going to need to someday."
"...thank you for listening to me, Alessa. And for being my friend. If there is anything I can do for you, please, tell me. Especially after what I did..."
no subject
Alessa looked amused at the idea of someone like Sasami being able to help her, but one never knew: even Alessa couldn't predict the future.
"I'll keep that in mind then, but just remember its not the best thing to owe a demon a favor."
And really, no one needed to know it, but she didn't mind the hug that much.
