A family (and friends) Picnic! [Open to kidlets + Vivio/Fate]

This was something that Nanoha and Fate had made a promise - it felt like months ago - to do once the Nightmare King had been defeated: The two of them and Vivio would have a nice family picnic with homemade food, just like they would back home. Of course, Nanoha had extended the invitation to the other children on the ship - not only did she want Vivio's friends to feel included, but she felt slightly responsible for all of them in her own way, and thought that they could all use a boost in morale after the trials they'd gone through.

So, Nanoha had arrived in the Sensorium long before the time had come, turning the area into a replica of her kitchen back home, and had gotten to work cooking. She'd always liked to cook; not only did it smell wonderful but it was therapeutic and relaxing in its own way. Eventually, she had quite the assortment of neatly-packed bento - rice, chicken, some dried nori seaweed and even some tempura and salmon. All in all, it was just like she'd learn to make growing up, and more than enough to feed their little gathering.

Once she'd made and wrapped the bento in the cloth that they'd later use as a tablecloth, she changed the location to a wide, rolling meadow with short grass, studded with trees to provide shade for the bright, warm sun overhead.

Nanoha smiled to herself, waiting to see who'd arrive first.

You start with, "Hello," which is just what Sherry said as she curled back around her father and Nanoha to the other straggler.

Boy, he was a weird one, wasn't he? He had a beak (thing?) and a mouth. Wasn't a beak supposed to be a mouth and a nose, to an extent? Next to the dinosaurs and the talking mouse, he was the weirdest thing she'd seen. Which probably meant he felt just as uncomfortable as she did right now with everyone else. "I don't think I've seen you before."

Komali turned and blinked at Sherry, as if uncertain that she'd been talking to him, of all people.

Why was everyone onboard this ship so...odd? They weren't Hylian, with those round ears, and nobody had beaks, or even feathers. Next to Lord Jabun and the talking fish, this girl would likely have ranked among the weirdest things in recent memory, if not for the sheer number of others like her.

"I...I've been alone," He admitted, sheepishly, "Or with Samus Aran."

"I know her," Sherry replied with a nod. "She works for my dad," the little girl nodded in the direction of Leon and Nanoha. "I like her." Considering the number of people Sherry didn't like, that was almost the highest praise she could lavish on someone.

"My name is Sherry." She paused for a moment and clamped down the urge to ask him if he had a name.

Curious, Komali leeeaaaned over to peer at Leon around Sherry. He looked like a warrior, standing the way the guardsrito always stood, as if expecting an attack from behind that never came. Komali wasn't really aware of guns as weaponry, but he'd noticed that Chief carried one. Briefly, the boy wondered if Leon was like a king, to have warriors like Samus working for him.

"I'm Komali."

Sherry leaaaaaaaaaned backwards and away from his sudden inspection of her father, while another part of her snappily retorted that Leon was her dad, and she wasn't about to share him with any other child.

Never mind the fact that most children found him sort of frightening, but they just didn't know how awesome her was. Hmph. "It's nice to meet you. We should probably go down there with everyone else." Not that she wanted to. Yet.
