Ax had escaped the Controllers on board. Brainy had not been so lucky. Neither had Sam and Tim. And who knew how many others on board had Yeerks wrapped around their brains, controlling their every movement, pretending that everything was normal until the time came to strike.

Jono stood, making motions like he's dusting himself off.

Not that he's been doing anything to get terribly dirty. Or that the suit would let him remain dirty. I'm good fer lookin' fer the gel. It was better than staying in the media library alone, at least.

For some reason, it's right then that the lights on the ship--everywhere in the ship--suddenly flicker. They just flicker, then come back on. Odd.

"What the...?" Lyta began to ask when the lights flickered off then almost immediately came back on. But she was quickly silenced when the dull hum that had been buzzing in the backs of the minds of the telepaths suddenly became substantially louder.

It wasn't debilitating, nothing that would knock them to the floor. But the change was sudden and sound just like someone had opened a communications signal and was getting nothing back but static.

"...something's wrong," she said, looking to Jono for confirmation.

It's as if Stacy is stunned by something.

Jono had to drop his shielding a bit, brow pulled together as he did so. He had to put his hand out to the table to steady himself. Somethin's wrong, he agreed with Lyta. Somethin's very wrong. She's stunned. He sounded incredulous.

After a moment, he squared his shoulders, glancing around. I dunno what it is, but reckon anythin' what could stun Stacy is probably bad fer us.

Soundwave was more than shocked. He was suspicious. Something was wrong. The mysterious energy waves that Stacy had emitted became erratic for those suddenly grueling minutes...and then there was silence. He looked around, observing. His red optics flickering.

Upon an unobserved action, Laserbeak transformed back into that electric guitar with Soundwave holding him close. "Stay aware, fleshlings..." He monotonously voiced as he tuned his sensors to the surroundings.

"That's . . . completely not a good sign."

Allen looks at Lyta again.

"What did you say you found, when you went out with Leela?" he asks, frowning seriously. Stacy's a bio-cybernetic entity. Sudden flickering of lights in a bio-cybernetic entity are a special kind of Not Good. "In the upside-down stairs room?"

"I don't know, exactly," Lyta answered. It was vague, she knew that, but actually describing what she'd experienced down in Escherville was next to impossible. "I can't exactly put it into words that you could understand. Heck, I don't know if I even understand it. All I do know is that..."

Just then, Lyta was interrupted as a horrified scream (http://community.livejournal.com/trans_9/23224.html?thread=2104504#t2104504) echoed from the hallway outside.

"What was the heck is going on?" Lyta asked, glancing around at her companions before heading out to investigate.

Confused Blitzwing is confused. Things like this don't normally happen.
Then again, waking up on an alien ship doesn't normally happen either. He didn't have the same feeling as the telepaths did, but his sensors went wild when the lights flickered.
"...Stunned?"
That can't be good. And then he picks up the scream, and quickly follows Lyta out of the hall to see who or what just screamed.

Soundwave could only prepare for the worse-- for at the moment he heard that scream, he stiffened and gazed outside. Something was wrong. He heads out, following Lyta, Blitzwing and the others--but at the same time, covering their backs...gearing his sensors in that keen manner.
