Sweet Dreams Are Made of These
Nighttime.
Or, at least, what passed for nighttime on the meatship.
A time when most of the crew was already fast asleep, dreaming away pleasantly throughout the night.
...Or, perhaps not. For you see, tonight, something particularly strange is happening.
Now it is not all that unusual for someone to have a nightmare, especially not on the ship.
Yet tonight, no one will sleep easily, for the Nightmare King deems it so.
Everyone's dreams will have a tinge of horror to them. Nothing so out of the ordinary to rouse one's suspicions, but at the same time, no one is left out.
Pleasant nightmares, meatship.
[ooc: And thus begins the start of the Nightmare King's spree of insanity. He's starting out subtle, of course. The nightmares won't be anything more than your run of the mill bad dream, but he is giving them to everyone. Posting in isn't mandatory, but if you want to have fun with your character's nightmare, go right ahead.]

Scott didn't move a muscle. But then again, he didn't need to move a muscle to actually hurt someone. All it took was a look. And that was all he gave them, as he bathed the whole room in red with a rather painful optic blast.
"Miss Frost is busy Not Giving A Damn about either of you," he spoke, after he fired. "And frankly, neither one of you has a choice in the matter. You're part of the last generation of mutants, the last line of defense between survival and extinction, and your numbers continue to dwindle. It's especially problematic after the deaths of Cessily, Sooraya, Santo, Josh, Laura, Victor, Hisako, Alani..." Scott continued on, listing name after name of other younger mutants they knew. All of whom, so far as Nori and Julian knew, weren't on the meatship with them. They may have died along with their world.
The two of them could very well be two of the last mutants ever born.
"You have a responsibility to bring about the next generation of X-Men, young mutants who will toil endlessly, suffer both severely and pointlessly, and be sacrificed recklessly and cavalierly by me. They'll waste their short lives supporting Xavier's dream, just like you and your dead friends did, even though that dream has been worthless and meaningless since M-Day.
"Or at least that's what they'll do until I decide that they're useless to me as you were, at which point I'll cut them loose to fend for themselves."
Scott seemed to stand perfectly still through all of this, but somehow he was now standing out in the hall, and the rather heavy door to the room was closing before him.
"Now get to work. You have triplets to make."

By the time he managed to pick himself up, the door was already closing on him. He charged the door, and if he couldn't stop it from closing, he was content to go right through it.
"You can't do this! SUMMERS, YOU CAN'T DO THIS!"
no subject
"You're not going to lock us up like animals you #^@&ing prick!"
no subject
It was a very heavy door, and one would basically need to be as strong as the Hulk to hold it open for long.
"The survival of the species is more important than anything. More important than your lives, and more important than your rights. It's your responsibility, and you're the only ones who can do it. I know you won't disappoint me anymore than you already have."
His job done, he turned to face their little bunch of children who had been sitting quietly in the hallway.
"Come along children, we're scheduled to be attacked by a Predator X in a half hour. I need you to be outside and helpless so one of you can die a meaninglessly bloody death before we bother to save the rest of you."
The children cheered, and quite happily followed along.

"This my life, Summers! You #@%king here me?! I Will Kill You for this!"
no subject
"Keller! Focus. You're not gonna break that door down and Cyclops is even farther out of his mind than usual."
no subject
"This is bulls#!t." Ok, his clothes were definitely there.
"So... what, we get kidnapped by aliens, then get sent back to some messed up alternate universe?" Where they had kids. Lots of kids. And Summers commanded them to have more. Because he wants Julian to breed. With Nori.
Breed.
The idea made his skin crawl.
no subject
"Alternate universe or not, no way would I ever willingly sleep with you." She stopped and picked up one of the pictures, grimacing a little. They looked happy, despite psycho Summers out there. "This is more like some kind of nightmare."
no subject
He sneered at nothing in particular as he finally finished getting dressed.
"God damn X-Men... and that's the world we're trying to bring back." It all seemed so pointless, really. But he shook off that thought.
"So, say this is my nightmare. How do I wake up?"
no subject
"I don't know, hope the alarm goes off soon?" She thought acknowledging it had to be a nightmare would've woken her up, but that apparently wasn't doing it.
no subject
"Unless, instead of me dreaming of you, you're dreaming about me." He wasn't sure he liked the ramifications of that either way.

"CHAMBER!" Julian started screaming at the top of his lungs, calling for his roommate. He also started to channel his energy, since mind tended to light up to telepaths when he did so.
"CHAMBER! WAKE UP YOU #$!&ING @#&*!!"

Why would they have kids? Why would they look happy together? They were never happy together. Why--
...why is she pulling on one of the bookcases?
"What the hell are you doing?"
no subject
"Bingo. Back door."
no subject
"Let's just hope this doesn't lead somewhere worse in your head. Or mine." He still wasn't sure which one of them was having this dream.

He pushed the bookcase further aside to make more room, then followed Nori through the door.
Maybe they'd end up inside the head of John Malkovich. Nothing seemed too odd at this point.
no subject
"If this is my dream, why are you you? Why aren't you... pod Julian, or whatever?" She was pretty sure her subconscious wouldn't generate up Julian to seemingly suffer with her. It'd probably be worse if he was the weirdo alternate reality future guy.

"I guess we'll worry about that later," she muttered, turning a corner and coming up to a wall. She pushed against it and found it loose, so she shifted around to get a little leverage. "Help me move this."
no subject
"Yeah, whatever. Move over." He took a spot next to Nori, and started pushing against the wall.

Nori couldn't tell where they were supposed to be. She'd been assuming the institute, but the landscape outside was alien to her. All the grass was burned away and the sky had a murky unnatural color to it. There were Sentinels standing nearby, although none of them seemed to notice the pair sneaking out the side of the wall, and Nori couldn't pay them much mind anyway, when she noticed the piles of what she'd initially thought were part of the landscape actually being dumping grounds for mutant bodies.
"...Okay I'm starting to think the forced sex thing might not have been so bad."
no subject
"We should get moving." He really didn't want to be there a second longer than he had to.
There was nothing there for them anyway...
