It's nice to get a chance to relax together
Meluly had gone along cooperatively with Katara, following the girl to her room. Getting along so well has left a little skip in her step, and she slides the door behind them shut before momentarily claiming Toph's bed to perch on the edge of, watching Katara with a vague, pleasant expression. Her body language is halfway tense, halfway languid in odd increments, not quite sure of what she wants, but happy enough with anything that comes along.

Katara gave her a smile and sat in a cross legged position. "So..tell me about Lafiel."
no subject
"Well, for one thing, she's technically an 'Empress'."
no subject
"What else is she?"
no subject
She wiggles over, so she can lean against Katara a bit.

And here she snuggled next to her.

She put her head on Meluly's collarbone, sighing, then smiling. "Things will just get worse from here. Better to take the moments where its calm, if only for a little while."

And here she nuzzled against Meluly's neck, breathing her scent too. "I wouldn't mind learning more about your people. They seem to be full of wisdom I'd never know."
no subject
"The best wisdom we'd have is that you shouldn't do what you do just because somebody else tells you that. We're—we were—" and her voice breaks, for just a moment, "—r-remaking ourselves."
The enormity of the situation and her role in it hit her again, suddenly, and she clings a little tighter to Katara.
no subject
"You're right about that, but I was one of the few people who believed that. Everyone preferred to just believe what they were taught: I didn't."
When she saw how effected Meluly was about her people, she held her closer, almost lovingly. "Tell me about it, if you can."

[and, in the morning]
But there was that other girl... She twists a little to glance at Toph in the other bed, her red eyes gleaming dimly in the darkness. "I wish there was a damn sunrise," she murmurs.
Re: [and, in the morning]
"Morning Meluly," she said, giggling at the tickling. "Do you want to exercize some today?"
no subject
"I always exercise," she says, arms wrapping around Katara and rolling to pull her up on top of Meluly, so she can squeeze her extra-tightly for a moment. "Lights on or off?" she mumurs. "I can see fine either way."
no subject
She disentangled herself from Meluly(begrudgedly) and started some of her yoga stretches, careful to make sure that she didn't pull anything.
no subject
She waits long moments watching Katara before starting her own stretching... and almost inhuman stretching it is. The bending and twisting she's casually showing off, without even being properly warmed up first, would be the envy of any well-trained acrobat or contortionist.
no subject
"Wow," she said, "How do you do that? If I trued, I'd probably dislocate a few limbs!"

She grinned. "Yeah. Are they permanent?"
