Transmigration 9: Brave New Worlds

Ba'al had made something of a habit of wandering the city, during the days. Due to its sheer size, it was less likely that he would run into anyone when he didn't want to, but it was still easy enough to come into contact with people when it suited him. A perfect location for someone who was laying low, thanks to a certain other member of his species being a bit too showy (he was still disappointed, somewhat, in how that had ended...). If nothing else, the city had much to offer-- or at least more so than most of the rest of the ship.

And so, he found himself strolling through the city once more, with no particular aim, save to make himself busy, and perhaps discover something new. Perhaps he could find something useful this time.
Tony Tony Chopper was finally ready to make sweets! He was really excited about the whole thing. He quickly typed up a message to Maydril, who he had yet to meet, and waited patiently at the entrance to Hydroponics. Making sweets shouldn't be as hard as making medicine right?
11:01 am - Recovery
Matt shifted in his bed, eliciting a grunt of pain. Blinking, he realized belatedly that he was in a bed. Hmm... was he...?

Opening his eyes fully, he realized that he was in the mini infirmary of the bus, but the location had been moved. Presumably by someone who comandeered his keys. He was also wrapped in bandages but the worst of his injuries had been worked on. He was also, not to put a fine point on it, naked.

Groaning, he turned his head to the side, trying to figure out just who moved him there and if Asuna was okay. "... w-water," he croaked to the air.
Of all the people in all the verse that Jayne got saddled with and it had to be him!

The only person more annoying would have been that pretty boy doctor, that would have been too rutten much.

After a sufficient amount of growling and grumbling and poking around Jayne had found his way to the hanger, sounded like there was all manner of trouble going on around this ship but it wasn't his problem...yet.

All he wanted was to see if he still had a bunk or if he'd have to find a new one.

Ships of all shapes and sizes greeted Jayne, and he allowed himself a pause to fantasize about stealing one for a joy ride. He was lousy at flying for more then a quick get away but it might be fun. Hell the rest of the gorram world was falling apart why not live it up? You were either making a joke and trying to survive or pissing your pants and crying in Jayne's opinion.

And then suddenly, there she was. Serenity in all its crappy outdated glory. The Ship looked like it had been through hell and back partially because it had. Jayne could even recognize some of the marks on it's hull from various close calls.

Everything was just Shiny.
Elisa came awake all at once, woken by some internal alarm, shrill and indefatigable. She'd done this before— woken up in the hospital, drugged and groggy, but usually it happened slowly, like floating to the surface of some deep pool of water.

The blanket was too warm, but her midsection ached like—

...like a wolf had...

Elisa focused and found her gaze stuck on the meaty ceiling of the med bay, and the slow pulse of her plantsuit around the tender places and bruises. So, it wasn't a dream?

"Hello? Is anyone there?"
06:20 pm - Vestige [Open]
Kira sat still in a dark, enclosed space, listening to his own heartbeat reverberate through the helmet of a sealed flight suit, and took a long, slow breath - and he opened his eyes as lights flared to life in the darkness. Around him, the cockpit of the Strike Freedom entered its familiar startup sequence, the viewscreens flickering on to display the depth of the seemingly-infinite starfield around him.

He knew it was all a simulation - a hallucination, even - but that didn't make it feel any less real as he took the controls and engaged the Freedom's Phase Shift armor, causing color to spread across the craft's surface.

There was no Archangel or Eternal to launch from this time, but he couldn't help old habits as his foot sunk weight onto the pedal. "Kira Yamato, Freedom - heading out!"

In the depths of space beyond, lights twinkled in a peaceful way that belied their menace - Ohm Shrikes. Kira's grip tightened ever so minutely as his mobile suit drew its beam rifle and the twin railguns unfolded at its hips, and he fired.

The more they practiced now, the safer they'd be in a fight.

Anyone who entered would find themselves standing on the deck of an observation platform suspended in space (if the protocol Kira had written worked properly, anyway). It might make the whole thing a bit less awkward.
