If she were to create an entire new department, Nanoha reasoned that they would need a place to meet, to gather, train and to work ... whatever it was that they would be working on. As the Science Department had their laboratories and the Medical Department their medical bay, the girl had been busy searching the ship and the City for a place that felt... spiritual. Nanoha supposed that she could have chosen anywhere and they would have been able to make do, but perhaps the other volunteers would need someplace more conductive to the study and working of magical and mystical arts.

The ziggurat off to the side of the City caught her eye as she soared past it, for it seemed oddly like something she'd seen in the Sensoriums, back when she'd met Luke Skywalker. As she neared it, Nanoha realized it felt the same, too - there was a little tingle in her spine that wasn't quite any magic she was aware of, but it... felt almost familiar, and warm.

She touched down, the wings fading from her heels as she walked toward the structure, a smile appearing on her face. This place... it felt almost perfect.

"Hello! Is anyone here?" She called out - if it were occupied, of course, she'd look somewhere else.

"Oh, I don't know if I'd call it abusing. But 'I order you to give me a backrub' sounds pretty appealing, don't you think?" She snickered as they neared the structure.

... Damnit Nanoha.

"I-It doesn't matter if it sounds appealing or not! But yeah, it does sound nice..." That last bit is muttered very, very lowly, but Nanoha will probably be able to hear it.

Yes, she could. And for a moment, she stopped in her tracks - before tugging on Fate's hand and pulling her into another hug, resting her chin on her shoulder.

"I'm not going to get tired of this anytime soon." There was still the teasing tone to her voice, but... it was quieter.

Fate was about to retort at the teasing tone, but... something was off. She felt something inside of her twist at the soft tone of Nanoha's voice, so she wrapped her arms around the other girl and hugged her tightly.

"Nanoha..."

Nanoha pulled back a little bit, recognizing the slightly worried tone in Fate's voice no matter how her girlfriend tried to hide it, and touched their heads together gently with a smile. "Hey, don't worry, okay? I'm fine, I promise."

"I just... missed it."

Despite Nanoha's reassurance, Fate was still a little worried. but she smiled anyway, and for once didn't blush at the contact.

"I know. And you don't have to worry either..." Her smile widened a little. "I'll always be here with you. Promise."

"Of course you will. There's nothing in the universe that can keep us apart for too long. It knows better than that."

Seeing as how there wasn't anyone around (that she could see), Nanoha hoped that Fate wouldn't mind this time as she leaned in, tilting her head to the side to steal a quick kiss.

... Okay, normally Fate would protest, but since there's nobody around... she could let it slide.

Before Nanoha could fully pull back, Fate closed in, pressing their lips together again.

It took her a bit by surprise - Fate wasn't usually the forward one - but it was a very pleasant surprise nonetheless, and Nanoha's grip tightened around her.

She'd missed this way too much.

It was true that Fate wasn't usually so forward, and normally she wouldn't mind, but she could still sense that there was something wrong with Nanoha. So maybe it was good that she was taking the lead for once.

Moving a hand up, brushing her thumb against Nanoha's cheek as she broke the kiss. "... I love you, you know."

Dammit, Fate. Have another rarity - Nanoha's cheeks going red. "I -- h-hey, Fate-chan, geez, don't..." She may have thwapped your upper arm, but she was absolutely glowing.

"...do you mean it?"

Fate smiled as she was hit, and while there was a teasing hint to it, it was a mostly loving expression.

"Of course I do." She said, hoping her own blush wouldn't be noticed.

"You better!" Another quick kiss, and then Nanoha rested her chin on the other girl's shoulder. "...because I do too."
