Outsiders Training, Spectators Welcome [Please wait for appropriate sub-threads]

Slobo stood back with Superbike and surveyed his work. On a street in the city, he had rigged a PA system with speakers from Outsider's Plaza. Static would probably be unhappy with that, but it's worth it. On either end of the street a red line is drawn in spray-paint. Everything was set, now he made the call and waited.

And Roxie silently rushes forward at a different angle, ready to tackle Slobo if he manages to get the ball before Rose does.

Static decided to start off easy; warning shots off the bow. One slightly to the side of Rose, and one in front of Roxie.

Next, a shot for Katara. A bigger one, to her wave. This aught to send a current through her, slow her down (if his calculations were right).

He too khigher to the air, aiming to use altitude to his advantage this time. And, if need be, he could send an energy net down over the ball, buy Slobo a little time.

If there was one thing that could be said about the waterbender, it was that she was a quick learner. After the fight with Azula, Katara wanted to know how to repel lightning. She'd asked Zuko, and his description had made Katara realize that what he was doing was actually a waterbending move in origin. The whole flow from the arm, to the belly and then back again, it was definitely a master's move, if it had to be quick. She was quick to begin with, but after fighting Azula, her senses had gotten much quicker. It had occurred to her, even with Static being a friend, that she should still be able to use this move if he ever did shoot at her.

The wave she was riding immediately stopped where it was, the positive and negative energy alerting her to what was happening. She took the blast in a moment and then sent the to shooting into the sky. It was a move that actually did set her back a moment, and every hair on her head stood on end. She reached back nonetheless and waited a moment while Static sailed over her head. She reacted then, the water that was a wave now became a water spout, growing bigger, shifting and coiling until Katara had it project overhead and surround Static now.

Let'see him get out of THAT.

Okay, he hadn't planed on her being able to repel electricity like that; but, then again, he hadn't been aiming for her, either, but for the water she was riding. For future reference, no direct shots; just the water she rides and let the charge run up through her.

But, that wasn't important right now; what mattered was the water bubble she'd trapped him in.

A plan was in order, and he had just the thing in mind.

He charged the air around him, formed a sphere of electricity just inside the bubble. He ionized the air, slowly, generating heat like a step leader before it becomes lightning. And used the heat to make the air expand.

The key was to move it slowly, so the air didn't explode and kill him. That was the real dangerous part. But, as long as he could keep the bubble growing, he could slip a charge into it as well, and split the atoms (in theory) once it had been forced to expand.
