ZOMBIE POD POP! (zompop?)

[ooc: Newbie Helpers List | Instructions: First, read *HERE*. Then, once you've read the overall plan, post your character into the main thread establishing them as being podpopped, and reacting to the oncoming zombie horde (since there is no Stacy replies to comment to, it will all be one thread, instead of individual threads). This can include fighting and/or fleeing if you want. Eventually, volunteers from Team Left Behind will rush in and save the day. Obviously, since there's no time for it while fighting for your lives against zombies, this podpop won't get the whole ||You have been Chosen|| speech from Stacy, so they'll have to get their answers (and pants) later.]

||Pod Release Protocols Initating|| Stacy's familiar voice sounds out to all the podmates through the ship.

In the Pod Caverns, there are the sounds of: Pop. Pop pop pop. Poppuhpoppoppop. KASCHUNKhiiiiiiiissssss.

There is condensation and mist spraying out from cracks in the pods, as the people inside slide out onto the floors, covered in slime.

--

There was nothing. You were going about your normal life, then there was a bright light, and then? Nothing.

Then the world lurches.

The chamber here is humid.

Actually, "chamber" isn't quite accurate. You're in a cavern, half-lit by an eerie greenish light, going on and on as far as the eye can see. The light is coming from what can only be described as pods, glistening, round greenish-yellow things, glowing with a pale inner light, outlining human -- and not quite human -- forms. Each is rooted to the floor, to the walls, with something black, twisted, and unidentifiable.

They line the walls of the cavern, go up in maddeningly high columns, curling and corkscrewing up into the darkness, until the light from them is like that of the stars, glowing pale and mournful in clusters in the darkness above. Twisted walkways and stairs crisscross, traverse the platforms in front of the pods, wending their way back and forth, up and down through the chamber.

You just came from one of those pods, broke free like a butterfly from a (slimy, nasty) chrysalis.

Now you stand alone but not quite alone, naked, not knowing how you got there, who took you, or why you were taken.

As your body heats up again, you realize the air is warm -- just a few degrees too warm to be comfortable -- and muggy; it smells acrid and organic, like freshly spilt blood and sweat. Your mouth tastes of salt.

The floors are pulsing under your feet, throbbing...

Wherever you are, this entire place...is alive.

Oh, and also you're naked and covered in alien snot.

And this is the point everything goes to hell.

You see, not too long ago, a psychopathic AI unleashed a horde of zombies on this ship, and now they were making their way to these very caverns, eager to eat the flesh off your bones.

Less than a minute after you've been plopped from out of your pod, you hear the sounds of the ravening undead horde making their way through the tunnels towards you, and it's pretty damn obvious what they're looking for.

Ready or not, here they come.

The problem with the caverns were that they carried echos. And once Miku had started moving away from the direction she'd thought the ravenous, hungry moans were coming, she found herself lost. Miku then immediately regretted the decision, when an arm (it was an arm, wasn't it?) came flying past her. Miku shrieked and ducked.

Oh. Oh, hell, somebody else. "Over here!" Tess calls, shuffling back and forth a little on her feet in confused, self-preserving indecision. If she runs to grab her, what if one of the things gets in the way—

Sorry, Icon Fail.

The large zombie had been thoroughly made not a threat, although before Robo had managed this, it had wrench the little finger on his right hand mostly off, and it now hung on only be a few wires. Robo muttered to himself, "Jesus Christ on a crutch that hurts..."

Then he looked up and saw Miku. He called out to her, "Sorry 'bout that! I didn't get any of that on you, did I?"

Miku looked up and saw a naked orange-haired woman have motioning to her. Move, she had to move and get to where it would be mostly safe. It wasn't as if this were a real situation anyway, was it? Of course not. Miku hurried up and clung to Tess.

The curse marks under her skin hurt and ached, but even that was dull in comparison to the amount of adrenaline making her move forward. "N-no, you didn't." Miku managed, trying to keep a good amount of horror from her voice, but not all of it. She was naked, covered in slime and dreaming about other, naked people.

And quite the curvy nakedness it is Tess clings back, one of her hands grabbing Miku's arm hard enough to be a little painful, though her grip is visibly shaky. Hey, she's frantic, it's one of those things that happen. "Before y'ask, I have no idea what the hell is going on," she observes.

Robo rejoins the two humans, swatting any small fry zombies that get too close, "Fun as this is, I bet there's more of those big guys, that'll find us eventually if we stay here, so unless you feel a pressing need to stay and see the sights, I suggest heading towards higher ground."

He pointed towards the large spire.

"Ain't like there's anythin' else better," Tess says, tugging at Miku as she takes a step in the direction that Robo is pointing.

Oh, poor, poor robot you are, not to appreciate the sight of two naked girls of wildly differing but uniformly likeable appearances clinging to each other.

[identity profile] ghost-bait.livejournal.com 2009-11-02 04:43 am (UTC)(link)
Miku follows along with Tess's bullying pulling, and takes a few unsteady steps after the other two. It took an extra second, since Tess's deathgrip made fire run up and down her arm as the other girl pressed into her tattoo marks. "Hhn... Ri-right," she agrees. Then in a smaller voice, Miku adds, "So... this really isn't a dream?"

Just what she didn't need - a curse, and a hall of zombies. Miku's breath hitches as she continued to cling to the equally slimy Tess.

"Even if it is a dream, do you want to dream about getting eaten by the undead? C'mon, let's blow this popsicle stand."

Robo led the way through the horde, smashing any zombies that got to close.

Peter made his own way through the horde, backwards, and when he saw a robot, he decided to take the help.
"Clear a path for those behind you!" He screamed as he kept beating zombies with his macabre weapon. "I'm trying to help those guys!" It was simple, but he hoped the robot got his idea.
