What dreams may come [Open, bendytimed to before GTFO plot]
In her sealed, silent, sensory-deprived meditation room, Roxie is sleeping. It's a special sleep: for all dreams are connected, she knows, and by spinning her mind out along the web of thought, she might step into others...
[Roxie is dream-hopping, getting a look at the subconsciousnesses of the other people on the ship. So, how it works - if you're interested, go ahead and post with a dream your character is having, and Roxie will slip into it, subtle at first but more obvious as she tries to satisfy her curiosity. Just her being around will make the dreamer more lucid and more likely to remember the whole thing when they wake up.
Also, feel free to ask any OOC questions in a thread here, or poke me on AIM at 'anagramarye'.]

And the scene starts to melt away, in little fragments, as another man wanders by down the alleyway and the man in the white suit whips the drill out of his coat again...

They're sitting on the roof of the Happy Mask Shop in Hyrule Castle Town, now. The Temple of Time is to their left - while Sheik gazes at it with an unreadable expression on his face, Zelda ignores it and raises one hand, gesturing to the shambling, tattered corpses that now inhabit the town.
"This is the infestation we face," she tells Roxie, "Don't let them get too close - they'll paralyse you, drain the life from you, and make you like them if they do it enough."
((OOC: The Happy Mask Shop, in this picture, is the small building furthest to the left, near the stairs leading up to the Temple of Time.))

((OOC: Hey, you got a mention on the anonmeme :) Here, down the bottom. There's also a Trans 9 thread here, but it's still small.))

Roxie's expression shows that she's seeking similarities with those enemies she knows.
[Aweeesome.]

Sighing, Zelda rests her chin in her hand, gazing down at them sadly. "I wonder if Link knows that they were once people," she muses softly, "If he could still fight them if he knew. It finally gives them rest, but..."
From besides them, Sheik makes a wordless noise and turns away.

Zelda ducks her head, but there's a small smile on her face. "Link is the Hero of Time," she tells Roxie, "The Chosen of Farore, the one selected by the Goddesses to rid Hyrule of its poisons."
Beneath them, through the marketplace, is a young man in a green tunic, a blue-hilted sword in his hand, moving past the ReDeads like they're not even there. Zelda glances down at him and smiles; Sheik watches him intently.

"And Hyrule is your homeland," she says. It's only barely got the tone of a question.

"...does everyone in Hyrule have ears like yours?" she asks, curiosity finally getting the better of her.

There are many aspects of Zoran and Goron anatomy of which Zelda is ignorant, and which she is quite happy to remain so about.

"... what are your thoughts on cold iron?" she asks anyway, just in case.

((OOC: Ffff this is like the fifth time in two days I've tried to comment to something with the wrong account.))

Even though he looks like he hasn't been paying attention, Sheik holds one hand out - in the palm of his hand are three long iron needles - a gesture slides them into place between his fingers before he curls his hand into a fist and they disappear into thin air. "We have no such problem with iron, clearly."

Below, the scene is brightening - the ReDeads are gaining colour, life, muscle tone. The shattered buildings are stitching themselves together. A few musicians are playing a jaunty tune. And before long, there's a bustling marketplace beneath them.
In the bright sunlight, Sheik seems almost faded, washed out, whereas Zelda seems even more vibrant.

She is, after all, used to the gleaming towers of modern cities.
no subject
She's seen a glimpse of the places others come from in some of those places in the ship - Hyrule simply cannot compare.

She reaches up to adjust her glasses a little.

She pauses thoughtfully, gazing out at the distant field. "We have wheat and oats," she murmurs, "Cattle, a great variety of fruits and vegetables. But no, nothing like rice."
