Whodunnit?

It was time to get a little more organized, share some information with each other. She had a talk with that bigface kid, Jaime, to see if he could do anything to shield them from Stacy's prying eyes and he said he had a few ideas, so a meeting place was chosen, and it was time to gather.

Cybil had a good authoritative, shouting voice.

"Everyone, listen up! We're meeting down in the city near that big tree. Grab whoever you see and get down there."

Indeed they were. People were starting to gather there.

[ooc: Instead of little subthreads, everyone post in one thread as people arrive. Try to keep the convo general, like everyone talking to each other, instead of devolving into private conversations.]

Once the field came down and everyone--with weapons drawn--began to slowly move in the direction of the shots, Lyta meandered her way through the crowd and, spotting Ax, she walked over to join him.

"Stay close," she said rather protectively.

Granted, in his true form he appeared to be more than capable of taking care of himself but he wasn't in his natural form. And since he'd made it clear to her that he wanted to keep his true form a secret for the time being, until he was comfortable with his own safety, he was stuck in the body of a teenage boy. A teenage boy that appeared to have little to no way of defending himself.

The scimitar Wednesday's managed to–appropriate–flashes from its sheath in only the first few moments after gunshot, though he doesn't seem particularly eager to position himself at the front of the crowd. Still, his body language is supremely self-assured about the situation.

Not that idiot again.

Jono had been paying attention to everything that was being said and taking interested note in the fact that there was another telepath. He just didn't have anything to add because he hadn't run into anything yet. Unless somebody wanted to know about the sad state of the music systems in the library. Somehow, he didn't think that was what the good Captain had in mind.

When she said to move out, though, he pulled the top of his outfit down, exposing the psionic flame that resided beneath it. He moves to the front, mostly so that there's nobody between him and whatever needs to be blasted.

"I will," Ax said to Lyta, nodding. In thought-speak, he added < I will demorph if necessary. I trust I will have your assistance in preventing Controllers from killing me. >

Demorphing in front of potential Controllers was not his first choice, but it was certainly preferable to death. As long as he wasn't infested, the Animorphs' identity as humans was still safe, even if he revealed his own morphing ability.

As he followed the rest of the group, he kept an eye out for something he could potentially use as a weapon.

Toxin twitched the suit's tendrils uneasily at the sight of Jono's psionic flame-it might not be normal flame, but it looked close enough to make him edgy.

"Settle down," Pat muttered, sniffing at the air as he moved with the rest of the group, trying to see if whatever was warranting the yelling and gunfire had a familiar scent-and trying to make sure that nothing else could sneak up on the group.

With his gripped firmly in his hand, Sam edged his way through the crowd--which continued moving almost in unison in the direction the shots had come from--and made his way to the captain's side.

"It's gonna take us forever to find him like this," he muttered. "I think we need to send out some people to scout things out."
