The City; the Great Wall.

The last time Orochimaru had stood atop an ancient defensive structure, he had annihilated it gratuitously. This time, things would be different. This time, he could use his arms.

He was, at present, using them by folding them over his chest as he waited.
Sakura look a left turn between two disparate pieces of architecture, eyes sliding over them both without truly appreciating what they saw. An inventory of places that were problematic for being hiding spots, possible ambush zones, tactical advantages in territory ran though her mind, along with figures and numbers for things she kept track of to make sure her thoughts weren't allowed much time to wander.

As it was, they were still getting away from her, heavy with emotions and logical conclusions that played off loyalty and desire to protect all at once. It left her looking pensive as she walked through the city, making her way toward the Great Wall of a country she would never see.

Allenby rocked back and forth on her heels, frowning at the Great Wall for a couple of reasons. One, apparently the Daligig or whoever had yanked out a big chunk of the Great Wall (or one of them, given how many Earths there were) and slapped it into the City like a cheap bookcase. She wasn't big on cultural heritage preservation, but sheesh.

The second reason was that she was thinking. Next to her feet was a bag of toys: jacks, a gymnast's ribbon, a kite, spinning tops, and a few superballs. Believe or not, she was going to use these to develop a new specialty technique--just as soon as she figured out where to begin.

"Man, Nobel Gundam... I knew I shoulda asked Chibodee and George what they did to figure out theirs." She winced when she caught herself talking to her Gundam yet again, and she wasn't even in the Hangar this time... oh well. Allenby picked up the ribbon and began running, executing a technique she already knew well from piloting.

[ooc: So anyone in the Water Cooler post who wanted to do sparring/training stuff, this would be a good place to do it! :3 Or anyone else who'd like to pop in, of course.]

Eva shakes her head and shoves her omnicomm back into her pocket. She's figured out how it works, but it seems like the thing it's most useful for is picking futile battles with council and getting her heart rate up. Gnawing the corner of her lower lip, she storms out of Cassie's house and into the city.

Despite the fact that the Great Wall mostly just holds the memory of being possessed, to her, she knows at some point she should try and find her gun. It may have been lost in the rubble, but it would be irresponsible to leave it somewhere in there where some kid might find it and play with it.

She's working out her restless energy moving the wreckage around and muttering to herself so intently that she hardly notices someone approaching.
When Marco had mentioned the Great Wall of China back when she'd first pod-popped, she'd figured he meant some sort of landmark for a place she didn't recognize. Next to a word like "sky-scraper," and she guessed that this landmark had to be significant enough, or at least big enough, to hold up against something with a name that implied a building that could touch the sky. Either way, the greater meaning she'd walked away with concerned the reality about landmarks "from home." More time spent asking around, or getting familiar with the Media Library once she'd been shown how to operate it, told her these landmarks were chosen much like they were.

It still didn't make much lasting sense, but it was also a secondary concern. Moving from the front of one war into the hazy front of another was more of a pressing concern than the possibility of tracking down landmarks she might be able to identify. Which begged the question of why she was having anyone else show her something that lacked all personal interest -- beyond curiosity.

"Is the 'Great' in 'The Great Wall' meant for anything other than its size?"

Once again, Marco had found himself with way too much free time. Well, as far as he was concerned it was just enough free time, but other people might disagree.

So he'd decided to run around the city for a bit. Especially around Cassie's house - it never hurt to know more about the terrain. (And hey, you never knew were you might find some kind of alien music player just lying around. And Marco couldn't let someone else pick up all the cool stuff, could he?)

Morphing Irish Setter (by now, 'Cinnabon' had been seen around the ship enough that people could just dismiss him as 'Jake's dog' and not anything suspicious), Marco took off, heading in the opposite direction from usual and away from the places that the rest of the ship were all over.

Most of the buildings looked completely alien - and not just 'not human'. They didn't even look like the Yeerk or Andalite buildings he'd seen (although this one tower did look like it was straight off of the Iskoort world...). But after he'd been exploring for a while, he stumbled onto something unexpectedly familiar.

Dude, seriously? The freaking Great Wall of China was hiding behind a bunch of bizarre alien skyscrapers?

After ducking into a small alleyway to demorph, he clambered up the stairs next to one of the towers, making his way to the top of the Wall.

[[ooc: Okay feel free to either bother Marco as 'Cinnabon the dog' while he's running around exploring, or when he's human and on top of the Wall. Just let me know which in the subject, okay? (Also for my reference and everyone else's...this is what the stairs he goes up looks like]]
