Brutality! [ITA]

Day three of the tournament. With less than half of the entrants remaining, and many of them having grown substantially in power with their conquests, the fighting was building to a fevered pitch destined to end in a crescendo of glory. But this far out, it's still anybody's game...

[Results are due by the end of Thursday. Contact me if you need to know your power gains for the last round.]

Bracing herself as best she could on a floor with such low levels of friction she thrust her gauntlet into the wolves waiting jaws and felt the painful vibrations as teeth met steel. It didn't hurt her nearly as much as it hurt him though. And once more mocking him she sent a jolt of lightning through the metal causing the wolf to yelp and fall back eyes watering and tongue burnt.

"Oh come on you can't really be seriously giving me your A-game right now?" Ruffnut mocked feeling pretty high and mighty with herself.

The wolf growled, and before she knew it Ruffnut's gaze was following the green form upwards higher and higher till she was looking up at a very pissed off T-rex.

"Hey wait, you can do dragons too?" Ruffnut called up to his head completely misunderstanding what a dinosaur was. "Jokes on you sucker, the first bit of combat training I ever got was against dragons!" The cocky young girl extended her tentacle high to scratch behind his head in the "Sweet spot" that made so many dragons just melt to their knees.

And indeed the T-rex's head lowered, his knees bent till he was face to face with her.

And he let out a thunderous deafening roar right in her face displaying rows of razor sharp dagger thick teeth. The blast of pure audio was enough to deafen Ruffnut, and worse yet echoed wildly in the rock filled canyon.

The area began to rumble and shake and some of the larger rocks fell along with snow and ice from the higher walls. Ruffnut's hair was blown back and she had to struggle to stay on her feet. Her eyes were wide with shock and the ringing in her ears didn't sound like it was going away anytime soon.

So like any good viking, she punched the Dinosaur in the nose.

Beastboy retaliated by spinning and slamming her with his tail sending her crashing head over heels and rolling along the ground to come to a stop near one of the rock and ice covered walls. She rose albit slowly, disoriented and dizzy and banged up from the strike. If T-rexs could grin he would have been doing so with each of those deadly teeth.

Unfortunately for Beastboy he hadn't thought very far ahead with this plan. He began to feel woozy himself, exhausted really. Everything seemed fuzzier and only then did a voice in his head scream that Dinosaurs were cold blooded.

Before he could shift to something more appropriate however Ruffnut had recovered enough to charge his leg using her super speed gained from the first round. She was a cannonball flying across the ground to slam her entire body into one Dinosaur leg. The leg slipped through a combination of Ruffnut's force, being off balanced and Dizzy, and the slippery traction of the wet icy floor. He went down like a crumbling house.

The shockwaves from his thunderous faceplant shuddered through the arena sending more debris down upon them. Beastboy shrunk back to his normal form just in time to avoid a large sharp shard of rock that buried itself where his head had once been.

"Time to put you out of your misery!" Ruffnut roared springing at Beastboy with her arms raised above her head in a single fist to smash down at him. He barely rolled out of the way and transformed into a bird flapping wildly to take flight and put some distance between him and the crazy viking girl.

"Coward!" Ruffnut shouted and bounded for the rocky steep incline scrambling up the side of it and jumping from rock to rock to chase after him. She was already pouring sweat in this frigid climate and imagined steam coming off her head.

But all of that was secondary to her goal. She took a few shots at him with the tentacle arm but none made contact as the little green bird led her higher and higher up the gorge wall.

Once they were high enough Beastboy shifted back landing on a rock and drew out several sheets of paper which caused Ruffnut to pause and stare. Just what was he gonna do? Draw her a picture?

He smiled wickedly though and flung the paper which flew like knives slicing through rocks and ice sending boulders and snow her way. The entire mountain shuddered and Ruffnut let out a scream as her own perch shuddered and started to fall.

She wobbled and windmilled her arms, scrambling over the rock as it tumbled and twirled under her, still amazingly upright. A thrust from her powerful legs sent her soaring to the next rock, and the next. She was STILL coming after him despite the avalanche.

Beastboy's eyes narrowed and his body began to cover itself in stone. It shifted into a ram and he dug his hoof into the ground a few times watching her desperate struggle against gravity. Then at the last minute he threw himself at her horns first!

Ruffnut saw him coming though and spread her arms wide to catch him. Rock covered Ram horns slammed into her chest knocking her through the air and crushing the wind from her lungs, but she managed to wrap her fingers around those same horns and get the green beast in a headlock.

The tumbled and crashed along the sheer wall bouncing off rocks and chunks of ice that would break a normal persons bones. But neither of them was exactly normal anymore. At once point they began to struggle mid fall to ride on top of one another like a sled, first Ruffnut, then Beastboy as a monkey. But finally they both smashed into a pile of snow and gravel at the bottom of the hill.

Silence filled the air for several minutes before A gloved hand appeared to pull a battered Beastboy out of his hole.

From Ruffnut's hole the viking also began to crawl. She was bleeding from somewhere under her helmet which gave her adrenaline fueled grin some gruesome color.

"Ready for round two?" She coughed and was amused to see some gravel fall out.

Beastboy shook his head a few times to clear it and bounced the palm of his hand off one side to shake some pebbles out of his ear. "That all you got?" He shot back clearly dazed.

"No, this is!" Ruffnut was a blur as she plowed into him with her uncontrollable speed once more and the duo crossed the field to slam into the opposite wall of the gorge which gave a warning rumble.

Beastboy became a gorilla and slammed Ruffnut hard across the jaw. A blow that would kill or at least break a normal man. But Ruffnut just laughed and spat out some teeth from her bleeding jaw.

Beastboy had to admit...this girl was scary. He shifted to bird form to escape again but a black tentacle snapped out and caught him squeezing him tight. The bird shrieked and squawked and shifted into a tiger who let out an impressive Roar.

Ruffnut socked him in the nose and threw him against the wall again.

Dizzy and dazed Beastboy leaned against the wall panting and rubbing a swelling nose. He was running out of tricks and fast.

Ruffnut braced herself for one last strike. She'd slam into him at full speed with a fist to his gut and end this nice and dramatic! The world was a frigid blur around her as he flew closer and closer.

And at the last minute...vanished from sight. He shrank down to the size of a mouse and then popped back up just in time to watch Ruffnut slam into the wall of the gorge at full speed, breaking several bones at once with a horrible "CRACK!"

Beastboy winced and was about to cry victory when a rumble echoed through the arena.

Looking up he got very pale as he saw the shudder and shockwave passing up the hillside from Ruffnut's impact. A single ball of snow fell and landed square in his eye making him cry out and rub at his stinging face furiously.More and more rocks and ice and snow began to fall, before becoming a tidal wave of force spreading away from the walls itself and swallowing up both fighters completely. When the dust settled the gorge had been filled up to thirty feet by rocks and snow and ice.

One minute.

Five Minutes.

Ten Minutes and finally, a hand shot out from the snow.

A red, viking girls Hand.

And then, a little green gopher popped out right in front of the hand. The beady little eyes blinked in confusion, unsure if he had won.

Ruffnut cleared that up for him by slamming her fist down onto him hard knocking him back down his own tunnel in a blind but effective version of Whack a mole.

The match was hers.
